We ordered: -porra with quail egg: this was very similar to gazpacho (which I love) so I automatically loved this -anchovies with guacamole: I'm not a big fan of anchovies but my boyfriend is and he really liked this dish -octopus: delicious! -squid with crispy black rice: this was my favorite dish, the squid was so flavorful and went perfectly with the crispy rice -sea bream: also delicious, loved the eggplant and goat cheese sauce that came with it -boar stew: I'm not a big fan of stews, but I can tell that it was cooked well You honestly can't go wrong with any of the tapas. This restaurant is more about its famous owner than the food. People come in the hope of sighting this celebrity, crowding the restaurant at all hours and overwhelming its staff. Our server pointed us to a QR code on the cocktail menu so we could look up what's on offer. This menu gave ONLY the names of the dishes on offer, WITHOUT any description of the dish or its sides. Nor did the server have the time to describe them to us. Service was a 2, at best, while the food was a 3. If you're looking for good food and good service, there are plenty of other options in Málaga. If you choose a place to eat on the off chance you will see a movie star, this is the place for you.

After having read some reviews, I made reservations for a special dinner here with friends. We came…read morewhen they opened at 8 PM, and since that doesn't align with the typical Spanish dinner schedule, we had the place all to ourselves. First of all, the views. While it is a bit of a drive and it feels like you're going up into the mountains to get here, it is well worth it. The hotel did a great job of laying out the restaurant so that the views are unforgettable. Our funny and friendly server offered recommendations and kept us smiling throughout the evening. Throughout the evening, it felt like she was an old friend we had know. For years. Menus were available in Spanish and English. Other servers would also appear to sweep away finished plates. I ordered the lamb shoulder (#weakness for lamb) and it was delicious, tender, and was the first dish on this particular trip that made me do my happy food dance. Yes, I have a dance, or more like a happy food shimmy. I tried a bit of my friend's duck, which was also lovely, especially the sauce. We shared the pineapple dessert, which was an atypical preparation that I really enjoyed. The sauce was a nice touch. I would totally go back to Amador again!

The restaurant is located at the Villa Guadalupe hotel and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I…read morehad multiple meals here over my two night stay and loved it. The brother of the owner is the chef here and serves Spanish cuisine and also modern European food. The menu has plenty of choice and upon request something vegetarian can also be organized. They were quite flexible and more than happy to accommodate requests. I had the classic sardines on toast, a typical Andalucían dish and it was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth and the black paella with prawn and squid was also fabulous. We had finger food lunch twice and it was also very good. Lots of gazpachos, hot soups, tapas and mini burgers. Dessert was nice and the wine list small but excellent and very well priced. Good service, English speaking staff and nice means made for a very pleasant experience and I really enjoyed it. Happily come here for a meal anytime.

Picture in your head what a stereotype tapas place should look like and I'm pretty sure something…read moreclose to this is what most would imagine. I love this place. Service is slightly slow because of the amount of people that they serve at any given time. So yes understandably, you will probably have to flag your waiter/waitress if you want anything after your initial order is taken because it can seem a little chaotic. The place is total old school Andalusia. How about the food? The food is just as authentic as the look of this place, which is always packed. I had the typical tomato salad with fish which is always delicious because the basic ingredients are always so fresh. Tomatoes stand out here because they are soo good. I enjoyed patatas bravas, salpicon, gildas, jamon, olives and croquetas de toro. What better to wash it all down with than a cup of Jerez amontillado and a glass of tinto de verano. Those that have left mediocre reveiws probably don't know what to expect or have no idea what to order, which, will probably end in an unfavorable experience. If you want a genuine experience of Malaga, then this place should be on your list of places to eat.

However, the one disappointment was ironically the most expensive dish we ordered: the Langostinos al Pil Pil (€12). We were expecting nice, plump prawns, but what arrived were tiny shrimp. The food is great, from the patata bravas, the goat cheese salad and salmon, all dishes are delicious. Haven't had a bad dish at all. Wine selection is fairly comprehensive but hey, this is Spain after all so that's expected. Try any of the local Malaga wines and you won't be disappointed. Service is great and friendly. Carolina is an awesome server so definitely ask for her when you go by, though all the servers are wonderful so you'll get great service regardless. Can't recommend this place enough.
