Servers do not listen to orders. Very slow in fixing plates. They just cannot handle a crowd.

When our waitress brought our drinks, we told her we needed just a few more minutes before ordering. Instead of checking back on us, she sat down at a booth with a coworker and talked for about 10 minutes. Eventually, my husband had to get up and walk over to tell her we were ready to order. She seemed annoyed that we interrupted her conversation and didn't even get up right away to help us. When she finally came to take our order, my daughter asked for steak tacos. The waitress asked, "Which kind?" We said steak. Again she asked, "What kind?" Confused, I politely asked what she meant, and she finally clarified that she meant flour or hard shell. A little communication would have gone a long way. Then things got even worse. The family dining with us wanted to order chicken tenders and fries for their 11-year-old daughter because she doesn't eat Mexican food. The waitress asked how old she was, and when her mother said 11, the waitress flatly replied, "Oh no, she can't have that." We assumed she meant the kids' meal and politely asked if she could order an adult portion instead. The answer was still no. Trying to help, I explained that my daughter is 10 and could order the chicken tenders, and the girls could simply swap meals. The waitress actually told us we couldn't do that either! So let me get this straight: a CHILD wanted chicken tenders and fries, and this restaurant was willing to lose an entire table's business rather than serve her the food she wanted? Everyone else at the table was ordering Mexican food. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. At that point, we decided not to order and asked for our check so we could leave. To top it all off, we were charged for chips and salsa after eating only a few chips each. I've eaten at countless Mexican restaurants and have never been charged for chips and salsa without being informed beforehand. The entire experience was unbelievable. The waitress was unfriendly, unhelpful, and seemed bothered that we were even there. Customer service was nonexistent, and management should seriously reconsider policies that result in turning away paying customers--especially over something as ridiculous as refusing to serve chicken tenders to an 11-year-old. They clearly don't need customers or their money. We certainly won't be back.

This place is in the back side of a store. It's very open and colorful. It looks as if it may feature a buffet, but there wasn't one today. The table gets complimentary corn chips and salsa. We decided to order a variety of items such as tacos, sopes, and a burrito. It was all asada for us today. Unfortunately, all of our asada dishes had a lot of fat/grissle. I wouldn't mention it if it were a piece, but it was a fair amount. My dish, considering it was a large burrito, didn't seem to have much meat, either. It was also an open burrito where the edges weren't folded in so that got a little messy. Overall, the flavors in the dishes were nice, but there were a couple iffy things. I'd give it a 3.5 but considering the prices, cleanliness, and flavors I will bump it to 4.

I lived on the Valley (South Texas) border for serval years and would visit Northern Mexico often to eat and shop. I haven't had this type of food in years other than in places like Atlanta and D.C. I have never had a Sope in the states like I had here. I have had similar Central American sopes in the U.S. but they are a little different than Mexican sopes I am used to. The Pastor is incredibly delicious. Full of porky, pineappley, annatto spiced flavor. The lengua, asada, carnitas, and borrego (lamb) are fantastic as well (I only wish they had cabrito but the borrego was good enough). They are served many different fashions including with the authentic and traditional "silver dollar" corn tortilla tacos. The rice and beans are of the same quality. The Aguas Frescas like Horchata and Melon are rich and full of natural flavors. They do serve menudo and have a great priced lunch buffet I have not tried yet. The service is good, Spanish helps but you can navigate the experience well enough. The attached store is full of everything you need for your Mexican home cooking spice needs and candies like spicy mango lollies, Rosa Mazapan, and many others are available at cheap prices. If you are missing the real deal Mexican experience like I was you will not be disappointed. No gringo counterfeiters here. This place will take you home. If you don't know what real Mexican food is give it a try. Some things will be familiar, mostly in name, but this is NOT American style Mexican food.

We were in town to hunt and needed a good dinner. He had been here before and his wife really likes this place too. This place was decently busy which is always a good sign. Douglas is also a small town and limited options also tend to make places busier. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and opted to sit at the bar. We didn't have any drinks but instead stuck with water. Our server was around quickly and took our orders. We both got Tacos Mexicanos. Mine were with Al Pastor and my buddy got Chorizo. I ordered a side of the beef enchilada and my buddy ordered a queso Blanco with chorizo in it. We are also given a basket of chips with a fresh and tasty salsa. This was excellent as well. Our sides were up first. The enchilada was colorful and hot. It came out on a piping-hot plate. Covered in melted cheese and sauce. This simple, small but tasty enchilada was stuffed with fresh ground beef. The wrap it was in was tasty and for only $1.95, this was definitely worth it. The tacos came out soon after. Three tacos, decently sized. A fresh lime squeeze and a drizzle of verde sauce to top them off. The Al Pastor was perfectly cooked, tender and well seasoned. The meat was savory and had a hint of sweetness. These tacos were also topped with fesh cilantro. They hit the spot and were some of the best I've had. We will be back here for sure.
