Special Nachos with Chicken
Quincy P.

Went here on a Friday night with family. They seated us on the bar side. This visit I ordered their Special Nachos with chicken. The taste of the nachos was good but there was a lack of queso for the amount of nachos. Another family member had Beef nachos and had the same experience. Our waiter was not attentive. I've eaten here before and experienced much better service.

Second time going here, and my thoughts havent really changed. Fun and chill spot to hang out and get some food. Large parking lot, but be cautious it's not evenly paved. It's pretty busy in there. They can accommodate a large gathering. And the bar is decent sized. Prices are good, and margaritas are on point. Food is tasty. Nothing super exciting. Gives all the normal gives. Only picky negative would be lighting. The colors and lighting make the place look dull.

During yesterdays fake winter weather we stopped by here because it was the only spot open and it was so worth it! The bartender did not disappoint with the drinks and the food was excellent! I got the Texas rice which has a little bit of everything on top and it was so good! The atomsphere was nice, they were playing the game and the staff was cool. The prices are also good here! A nice little lowkey spot to have a few drinks and go about your day.

Everything was really goooooood!!!!! My grandma is mexican and the spices are so right in the food. I really like this place. Its been so long since ive had salsa with my chips that actually had spices in it. I will be back

The food was good. The service was fine. I got lots of recommendations from my friends and they told me this place used to get busy. I went in twice one on Wednesday and another on Friday. The drinks are great. Good ambiance. It is quite a drive for me from Decatur.

Chicken tacos with corn tortillas, traditionally with onions, cilantro, and salsa for condiments. Nice that you get 4 corn tortillas.

The food was very good at the restaurant. The service was a little slow, but it may be related to they were a little busy very popular with locals. I believe a lot of people drinking and enjoying conversation.

Cheers for Taco Tuesday

I came here last night in celebration of Taco Tuesday. This is the best and strongest skinny Margarita I've ever had in my life. The food was really good and seasoned very well. The service was great. Checked on us several times and this place was clean and not too packed on a Tuesday. 10/10 I'd definitely come back.

Fajita Trío for Two

El Jinete is a hotspot! My wife and I found this gem trying to find good Mexican food nearby and has instantly become our go-to! The Staff: We usually get our food to-go, but we ate inside once recently and the staff were all nice. The Parking: Huge free parking lot! The Atmosphere: it's your typical Mexican restaurant vibe. They have music playing as well as TV's showing sports by the bar. The Food: We always get the Fajita Trio for two! Amazing! You get so much for such a good price. Steak, Chicken, and Shrimp! I love the shrimp the best! Overall, definitely check them out. They stay pretty packed but they get you seated quickly.

The drinks DO NOT disappoint!! Food is always good. My only complaint would be the beans.. too mushy, but I prefer aros con gondules. Kike was awesome and helped me brush up on my Spanish! LOL! My 3rd time here.. always a great experience.

They place was beautiful, good vibes and ambiance. The food was good. Me and my friend really…read moredidn't like the soft served margaritas they tasted terrible and we keep trying them at different restaurants and the. server let us know that's how theirs taste. It was terrible, I don't not recommend the soft serve but the regular margaritas are so good and strong and the food is delicious. They also have really good deals on different days. Me and my friends are going to run it back and see how are next experience will be without the soft serve margaritas and hopefully catch them on the day they are not training anyone because it did take our server a minute to come back and check up on us or give us items needed but still the experience was great it was just that one drink !

My girlfriends and I were looking forward to dinner, margaritas salsa night at El Paso. I stopped…read moreby the location around lunchtime to see if they could accommodate a group of 12-15 adults around 7:00 pm. The host greeted me and let me know they could accommodate the group but the salsa lessons wouldn't happen that day due to an emergency. I let them know I let my girlfriends know there's no salsa lessons wouldn't happen but they would have live music. Only 5 in my party still wanted to join me at 7 pm. We were seated quickly and our server was new to the restaurant but able to check with the kitchen about dietary restrictions and food allergies. The fajitas and birria tacos were really good, and the rest of the food was just mid, and nothing special. A few of us tried the margaritas and they were pretty good too. We look forward to trying the restaurant again for the salsa dancing next month and will try some more dishes

First time visit.i was feeling hungry so ordered a tostada and a soup. Well apparently I was not…read moreaware what I'm getting myself until they came out with the first half of my order. Environment: feels like a little boarder town tavern with couple of old booth and a tv running Spanish news channel. There's also a self-service bar with some veggies and side dishes for free. I had pasta salad and cucumber slices. The pasta salad had a peculiar taste of peppery cream to it. Once the order is ready you pick up it up from the counter. Food: everything taste like home cooking. Even thought i wasn't raised in a Mexican household, I can tell the major difference between a restaurant-tasting dish and a home-tasting dish. The purpose of restaurant dish is to satisfy customer's taste bud. In the context of Mexican food, restaurant dish is hallmarked by heavy spices and slightly sodium overdose. Home cooking, on the other hand, doesn't attempt to please anyone. Tostadas de ceviche has a vinegary mix of cucumber, tomato, and onion chops with fish. As you bite into it, the bottom layer of sour cream merges with the refreshing taste of ceviche tops. Again not too little, not too much, just enough for you to identify the individual elements to it. Caldo de res is essentially root vegetables and beef soup. The bowl is around the size of a medium pho bowl with half solid content. We are talking about 6-8oz of cooked beef chunks here! The soup has a good balance of flavors from vegetables and from the meat and each chunk of beef is very tender. I had trouble finishing my orders. Turns out the serving size of each dish is almost double the amount I was expecting. Comment: looking forward to being my Mexican rooted friend over.

I was discriminated here...see below!…read more On Sunday, September 28, 2025, around the lunch hour, my wife and I visited this establishment. We placed a meal order totaling over $60.00 and intended to spend an additional amount on dessert. We did not request that our order be prepared "to-go"; our expectation was to dine on the premises. At the time, we were the only African-American customers in the establishment. Timeline of Events: 1. We completed our order and sat down at a table. I then proceeded to the salsa bar to prepare for our meal. 2. After approximately 20 to 30 minutes, we noticed that several customers who had ordered after us, who were white and Hispanic, had received their food. Our order had not yet been called. 3. Throughout this wait, a to-go order sat visibly on the counter near the cashier. We did not associate this order with ourselves, as we had ordered to dine in. Notably, all other customers who received their food had their order numbers called out by the staff for pickup. Our number was never called. 4. After the kitchen staff began to clean up, the cashier approached our table and inquired what we were waiting for. 5. My wife presented our receipt. The cashier then retrieved the previously mentioned to-go order from the counter, which had been sitting for at least 20 minutes, and confirmed it was ours. The Cashier's Explanation and Our Conclusion: When I asked the cashier why our order was packed to-go when we never requested it, she stated that she "just pressed the to-go button." Given the discrepancy in service--with white and Hispanic customers receiving timely, dine-in service with their numbers being called, while our order was deliberately packaged for takeout and left to sit without notification--this explanation is highly insufficient. The cashier's subsequent, delayed offer of plates for the now-cold food was dismissive. This entire experience led us to the unavoidable conclusion that the service we received was fundamentally different and discriminatory. The staff appeared to assume we were leaving, effectively prioritizing the comfort and service of all other patrons over ours. We informed the cashier that the experience was unwelcoming, and we requested a full refund, which was provided. We left the establishment without eating. This incident is a clear example of subtle racism in a public accommodation, resulting in disrespectful service and a negative dining experience.
