The lumpia was absolutely delicious! I only wish they were endless because I could have easily eaten more. I ordered the pork lumpia, and it was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, and not dry at all. Every bite had that satisfying crunch that made it so enjoyable. I also got to try a bit of their rice, which was a nice addition to the meal. On top of the great food, the people working in the food truck were super friendly and welcoming. I got to try this truck twice. Both at Yelp events. First time was fire. Second time sampler was just some garlic rice that was pretty bland. I ended up purchasing something anyway since I liked the adobo chicken the first time I tried it. I went with that and it was over rice. And it came with pancit and a calamansi wedge which I feel it's mando to squeeze over your pancit. The flavor of the chicken was on point. The pancit I had before had good flavor. This one kinda fell off, kinda bland. Not even the calamansi saved it. I ended up doctoring it up when I went home and made it spicy. I got to try their sisig fries that a lot of people was raving about and it was delicious!! Tried to order some but they ran out! The service was great. Very friendly customer service and I think it was just one cook and the place was busy so maybe that's why some of the flavors fell off for me. El Jabalito is THE BOMB! Chef Jake knows exactly what he's doing and is doing the Central Valley a great service by being one of the few Filipino food spots we have. You can also really tell he cares about the quality of the food he puts out and wants to make sure that his customers are given the best. I went with my mom to try it out near Reclaimed Mt. Goods in Madera. My mom is from the Philippines and often misses home food. I got the sisig fries, and my mom got the IDK plate. They let us sub out the pork lumpia for an extra vegetable lumpia, which was nice. My mom loved the food and said it tasted like hers. I agreed with hers after taking a bite. My sisig fries were loaded and very filling--I only ended up eating half the box. I love the attention to detail--the fried egg, the mayo, the furikake, and the calamansi--everything was perfect together. The food truck itself is covered in stickers and also has fruit juices and Filipino snacks that we enjoyed seeing. I love the decorations/designs on the truck as well. After we finished that, we got some halo-halo, and it was also great. My mom especially liked the homemade ube leche flan. Everything was fantastic, and I will definitely be returning. read more

With this being a food truck it is hard to get a hold of them. I recommend following them on Instagram because they post their schedule, location, and updated menus on there. I caught them on a random day at Gazebo Gardens and became an instant fan. With the closing of Boba Silog (ifykyk), the Filipino food scene in Fresno is becoming more and more scarce. El Jabalito is currently crushing it with their curation of food that excludes the typical selection: lumpia, pancit, adobo, etc. Service is friendly and the wait is decent. The first day I had them was actually a vegan event. Vegan food isn't something I typically go for, but something about their vegan spam silog was calling my name. I do not regret making the drive at all, because it SMACKED. No one can top Boba Silog's garlic fried rice, but this comes pretty close. It's not as flavorful or crispy, but does its job well. The vegan spam packed flavorful and gave me the peace of mind that I'm not eating the packaged sodium that is regular spam. The egg. THE EGGGG. I mean, look at the picture. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned and dressed to perfection, and pulled everything together. It also came with banana ketchup. A staple. This is a new food truck in Fresno serving Filipino food, and I'm so happy to see that they seem to add new stops around town every week. (Note: they are not at the address on their truck; that's their home base or whatever.) I've seen them at Gazebo Gardens, Vineyard Farmers Market, Spokeasy, 559 Night Market, and Tioga Sequoia beer garden - and like I said, they seem to add spots every week, so make sure to follow them on social media to know where they'll be. I grew up eating Filipino food and there isn't enough in Fresno so I'm just loving them. I've committed to working my way through their menu which might be hard because they seem to frequently do specialty and seasonal items. For example, right now they have a pumpkin curry which I loved: veggies in a pumpkin curry over rice. So far I've tried the lumpia (delicious. we have get two orders every time because my husband has to have an order to himself), sisig fries (marinated fried pork and egg with yummy sauce over French fries, so good), eggplant omelette (my fave, so delish!), fried rice (comes with a fried egg on top, so good), and the ube French toast (made with ube batter and some kind of sweetened condensed milk topping with fresh berries on top - decadent!). Really good food. If you're in the dark on Filipino food, you're missing out. I believe this place/truck would be a great start to try Filipino food. I am a fan of the cuisine. I got to try this food truck at a Yelp event and the food was delicious. I got to try a noodle dish, lumpia which is an egg roll. I wish I was able to have more but the food that I had made me want to revisit this food truck. Mind you, was one of the food trucks who were banned from River Park. If actually restaurants found this food truck to be threatening to their business, then it's a safe bet that this food should be given a try. read more
