Wow! I have been to many great restaurants around the world (including various Michelin) and this…read morerestaurant ranks very very high on my list! What a fantastic experience, from the beautiful ambiance, to the fantastic server (props to Cesar, our server) to the absolutely amazing food and its presentation. This restaurant is an absolute must in Merida and a great representation of modern Mexican cuisine without losing ancestral flavors. The highlight of our meal was without a doubt the Cebollas Negras. What an explosion of delicious flavors and textures! Like nothing we have ever tried before. The Pescado al Carbon was delightful too, and our second favorite dish. The lightness of the fish combined with the strong flavors of the carbon were the perfect pairing. I was in awe of how delicious the different presentations of cauliflower were. We couldn't finish our amazing meal without dessert and boy did it was the perfect way to end our amazing dinner. We couldn't make up our minds so we ended up ordering two. Manjar blanco was a must! Can't wait to be back and try more!

This was a unique char flavored using local recado from charred chilis from the Yucatán which were fried and stuffed with a savory mayonnaise that is flavored. We did like this appetizer was so unique. We also started with the harissa carrots although not traditionally Mexican the flavor was so good. The sauce was so savory and delicious the perfect amount of Salty and savory. We both opted for the burger which is not what we would traditionally choose in Mexico but it was really juicy perfectly cooked and delicious. Was served on a fresh brioche bun with a savory sauce and was served with four house made French fry logs cut in to perfectly cut rectangles. We paired the meal with house margaritas with el himador tequila. Very good and non fussy. Service was good restaurant was not too crowded but nice vibe. You can see the kitchen from the dining room. Overall great spot to us. All in was 2872.00 pesos... 167.00 USD for 2 with cocktails.

My waiter spoke very good English. -We sat outside on a Sunday morning, in early October, very pleasant. -Clientele are more upper class than we've seen in Merida. -They did not have vanilla for my latte, so I ordered caramel--very good! -I ordered the classic pancakes with maple syrup--quite good. -After we ordered, they came around with the pastry plate. We'll definitely get the cinnamon roll next time : ) Highly recommended!!

CHILA-KILLING IT - These folks freaking kill chilaquiles. We came twice, the service is fast and…read morefriendly, and the prices are supremely fair. And while small, it seats quite a few and is very well decorated inside. All my life I thought maybe you needed egg for the perfect chilaquiles but truth be told we got theirs with and without egg and the way these folks melt the cheese, it gives it this amazing texture not unlike a perfectly runny omelette. The egg is not in fact required. The flavors are rich, the chips are perfectly crunchy and crispy yet still drenched in salsa, and the meats and toppings just sing. Definitely by far the best chilaquiles we've ever had, and it's not even close. If you don't try Chilakiller's, don't bother ordering chilaquiles anywhere ever again because if you cared about chilaquiles, you'd have them here. Eat here, you won't regret it! Happy eating! -John Seeto

My wife and I have been to the Colonia Mexico location many times but had never tried the Centro…read morelocation because parking is usually scarce. Since we were already heading that way, we took a slight detour to see if there might be an elusive parking spot on Calle 51. It wasn't looking too promising, but we lucked out and found a spot on the next block. When we entered the restaurant, we got the last available table. For those who don't know, the Centro location is small, with five small tables and a few seats at the counter. We ordered coffee. The menu is the same as the other location, so I went with my favorite: the omelette en costra, an omelette with cheese baked on the outside to make a nice crust, served with bacon, half an avocado, and their delicious sourdough toast. My wife chose the grilled cheese, which she said was divine. The coffee was also delicious. Service was very good overall, although our waiter never brought my wife water after she asked for a glass. It wasn't an inexpensive breakfast, but I think the prices were reasonable considering the quality. Our two dishes and two coffee drinks came to $550 MXN before tip. My wife said the bathrooms were nice and clean.
