    One word - "Fantastico!"

We had a great lunch of blackened cod and pork stuffed with Serrano ham. Our tasty appetizer was spinach salad with figs and feta cheese. Their sangrias are amazing! The blackened cod was delicious and moist. There was no burnt taste nor smell because it looked scary. Stuffed pork with Serrano ham served with roasted peppers and amazing French fries was freaking delicious! The Spanish must use olive oil for frying because French fries are awesome. Service was excellente. This cute place is slightly further from the Jewish Quarter and next to the river, but so worth the walk to avoid tourist traps and crowds.

Blackened cod. Burnt exterior, creamy interior, atop white sauce and red cabbage. Delicious!!

This place was recommended on Tripadvisor, and I thought for sure it'd be tourist food, but it was actually one of the best meals we had in Spain. The food was unusual, authentic, and tasty, and the portions were large. Service was a little slow but that is probably my American clock talking. Free olives came out. They were.. delicious. Covered in a red sauce of some sort. Look, before this day, I had never eaten pitted olives for the fun of it. That is not my jam. But I was hungry, and whatever this onion-y red sauce was on these olives.. I ate every single one. I could not stop. We ordered fried aubergines with cane sugar sauce. I had heard eggplant in Cordoba was good, and I was dessssperate for some vegetables in Spain. We got at least a dozen pieces. It was okay - needed more sauce. I was still worried this place had been a bad choice. Then my blackened cod came out. I had never heard of it before that day. I had no idea what I was getting. When I got it, I was amazed. It was delicious. Cod burnt on the outside, creamy and white on the inside, on a bed of white sauce and purple cabbage. Crunchy, creamy, cool, hot, saucy.. and what a marvel. How did they do it? Even the burnt part was delicious. Our lamb rolls came out next. There were two of them in a wrap, with some salad and fruit between them. My partner is a picky eater, and he ate both of them. It just hit the right spots of comforting-meat-mixture for him. Next came the oxtail stew. I enjoyed this. The meat was falling off the bone but quite fatty, as oxtail is. The stew was flavorful and served on a bed of roasted potatoes like my mother used to make. Seriously. This was pure rustic comfort. I really wanted dessert but was too full. Our waitress brought out some dessert wine for us on the house - pedro jimenez? I think. It was great. Overall, a happy meal of good food with some pleasant surprises. The only downside was waiting awhile to get the check - we really needed to get to the Mezquita and almost ran out of time. Build time into your schedule for lunch.

    Tapa of the day

Decent sizes of tapas and really good. I had the "tapa of the day" which was cheese and mushrooms with pumpkin jam. I enjoyed it and the jam wasn't too sweet which I liked. It's just a new type of pumpkin to me and its traditional to this area. I also tried the peepers that are stuffed with cod and crab, very different from the stuffed peppers that I'm used to. I really liked it. It was an enjoyable experience and very fulfilling.

Food was amazing. Blackened Cod (Carbon de bacalao), was great despite it's appearance. The eggplant was also very tasty as well as the croquettas. Don't let the touristy area deter you.

This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host as an authentic Andalusian restaurant with great food. The recommendation most certainly lived up to the expectations. I ordered stuffed peppers in saffron sauce and they were quite spectacular. Oxtails, ordered by my husband, were particularly delicious in my opinion. The meat was incredibly tender and simply melting in your mouth. The service at the restaurant was very good. Our server did his best to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. I generally try pretty hard to avoid tourist trap eating places when traveling and I can say that this place definitely deserves your visit and your money.

AMAZING!!! We wanted a break from traditional Andalusian cuisine so we went to La Flamenka - and it is definitely my no.1 meal in Spain so far. We ordered Warm Prawn Salad, Black Rice Pudding, and Coal of Cod. The prawn salad is a must try! The prawns are so flavorful and I love the pesto dressing so much. Just as good as everyone else described it. The black rice pudding is a creative dish with a combination of different flavors - black rice with meat, red peppers, mashed potatoes with cheese, pesto and sweet onions. You should try it if you are really innovative and adventurous with food. And lastly, the cod is so tender and so rich in flavor. Just a solid entree. Thank you La Flamenka for the wonderful dining experience and I hope you continue to explore with creative cuisine :)

I had a chance to visit Córdoba .. and yelped a good place to eat .. this place doesn't disappoint . The oxtail was amazing ! , and I couldn't not try the blackened cod which was great as well . The restaurant location is right off the street parallel to the river , it's super nice inside , the bathroom is nice and clean . And their windows open leave a great breeze . They will serve you bread however and unfortunately it's not free , so if they give it to you and you don't want to pay the 1 euro . Kindly tell them to take it back , also unless you ask for tap water , they will give you water for purchase . All in all the place was great .. I'm glad I tried it , it was the best food I've had in Spain so far , well worth the 27 euros , for the water , beer, bread , half order of cod, and the main dish the oxtail with potato ..

Once inside, the atmosphere was very pleasant, having been seated in a large, open atrium with ornate carved stone walls and doorways. We asked for a large bottle of sparkling water but were told that they only had small bottles at €2.50 a pop. Small bottles mean more profit for the business but are inconvenient and more expensive for customers. We started with a bottle of the Speak of Silence /Extremadura, a dark red wine made with Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo grapes. At €22 it was a decent value (average price = €19) with a 4.1 / 5.0 rating on Vivino and rated one of the top 2% of wines in the world. It was good, but I am not sure about the top 2% claim. We ordered and shared several dishes, so I will elaborate here: - Mixed Salad with Tomato Vinaigrette (€6.10): Nothing special, just an overpriced salad - Cordoban Salmorejo (€5.10): A local cold tomato soup emulsified with olive oil, Iberian ham, and egg, it probably would have been better warm or hot. It was tasty, but different, not something I would order again. - Cordoban Flamenquin (€14.75): Another local dish, pork loin stuffed with ham, breaded, and fried. It was good but a bit dry so I dribbled some sauce from the oxtail on top. It would have been better with an accompanying sauce, but then it would not be Cordoban. - Cordoba-style Oxtail (€13.95): Two small knuckles with barely any meat and eight small french fries scattered on top. The sauce was good and what meat that was there tender, but €13.95 for four or five mouthfuls? Definitely NOT a TravelValue. - Solomillo Boletus (€19.25): Iberian pork tenderloin topped with a mushroom sauce, it was delicious, but €20 seems a tad high for a few pieces of pork and a smattering of fries. Our server, Jose Rey, was professional and attentive and we were very pleased with his service. Another thing I did not like was the coercion to submit a 5-star review at the end of the meal. We were handed a card stating Ïf you don't like something, say it here¨but ¨Ïf you liked something, say it outside¨. I tell it like it is, so I do not appreciate being coached on what to submit in my reviews. The meal was good and the experience pleasant, but the few shortfalls we experienced kept me from giving them one of my top ratings. I've always been a huge fan of fresh juice... but theirs was way better... most likely due to their combination of fruits. We had the one with apple, pineapple and lime. Refreshing! To date, I still think about that glass of juice! Please note that there were no English menu and the servers do not speak much English. This is a sign that they cater to locals and not a tourist trap! We had to use google camera to translate the menu while we were there. However, the translation didn't work properly so we didn't understand most of what was on the menu. LOL. 1) We had the duck pate dish. Note that this is popular dish in Spain: duck pate, marmalade sauce and bread. This was our 2nd or 3rd time having this dish and we loved it each time! 2) Sardine pate - it came with lettuce, capers and bread. While my husband liked it, I swear I will not have sardines anymore in my life. (The other time I almost puked was when I tried sardine sashimi in Japan.) The fishy taste was just way too strong for me. I ended up just devouring the duck pate dish and sipped juice and latte. It was such a simple meal but I really enjoyed the experience! We had also just gotten to Cordoba after a long ride. We used this opportunity to chillax and figure out what to do in Cordoba.
