You have to pluck a third of the meat with your fingers just to get the tortilla to structurally hold. There is always a line. On a random Tuesday it stretched down the street long before the door opened. I waited twenty five minutes at four in the afternoon for a seat inside. No to go orders, no doggy bags. You eat what you order and leave behind your self respect. The dining room is packed tighter than a turtle's pecker. A dozen staff members move around each other like bees tending the hive, the rhythm wild and relentless. The tacos themselves are intimidatingly large, the vibe unlike anything I have ever seen. Come for the al pastor, and come hungry. If you cannot finish, no option exists but to weep over the abandoned morsels.

Ordering was a bit confusing since they give you paper forms to fill out. It's tricky to order for different people in your party, and they tend to rush you, which can be stressful. Despite that, the food is so good that I'll definitely be back.

The view and vibe was so relaxing! I could have sat here for hours, but we had a hike to finish. Note we came on a Friday at 2pm and there were not many people here, so it was extra relaxing. Food: Chicken, broccoli, flatbread: delicious blend of flavors with a lemony white bean spread and the pomegranate seeds. This stood out as a favorite dish in PV. Shrimp: We ordered the shrimp on the waiter's recommendation and it was not our favorite. The sauce lacked acidity and flavor and it was messy to peal the shrimp. Ceviche: made in the regular ceviche style (not ground like Vallarta style), this was very tasty! Recommend. Prices: definitely a pricey lunch. We got one drink and 3 food items for about $90 usd. But you are definitely paying for the vibe and fresh ingredients on a secluded beach. We loved the atmosphere and would return!

We like going to places where we're comfortable and can truly enjoy vacation with good service, good food and a nice views and this place checked off every bit of our list. Only accessible by boat makes it ex inclusive, a beautiful private beach, much nicer than most beaches in Puerto Vallarta. The little houses are all gorgeous nestled in the jungle with every comfort you may need. No, you don't have AC but you have a fan and a beautiful private beach and that is all you need. Everyone who works here was amazing, we went right after a tropical storm and they had a lot of things they had to work around and they did everything possible to make sure we were taken care of. the food and drinks were delicious and fresh, the massages were great and Mateo was absolutely amazing at making sure we were comfortable. The beach club on Saturday was so much fun, there are other beaches you can walk to and waterfalls you can hike too. Just bring a good attitude and check this place out.

Mexican classics and hearty, fresh dishes, from soups and salads to tacos and regional specialties. Complimentary Hibiscus water and chips and salsa both very delicious. Refreshing drinks and a relaxed vibe that pairs well with the garden setting. The food is delicious and worth it, especially after a long walk through the gardens. The service and ambiance is friendly and laid-back. Service can be slow at peak times, and prices are on the higher side for the area. Nature lovers, families, couples, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the beach scene. A day trip full of scenic beauty, gentle hikes, wildlife encounters, and a tasty meal with a view. Go earlier in the day for fewer crowds and better service at the restaurant.

They have hummingbird feeders and some areas with fruit for birds so you get a nice birdwatching opportunity. Cocktails: pricey but tasty. This was the best margarita we had in PV. I had the vanilla mojito which was flavorful. Food: we started with the guacamole which was disappointing. For mains we got the garlic butter fish, which was a big piece of fish and very tasty. It came with asparagus and bread, but I swore the menu said rice but the waiter kept saying homemade bread. I just accepted it and didn't eat the bread even though it was tasty it didn't really go with the meal. We also got the quesadilla, which was tasty with caramelized onions. Overall food quality was high. Service: Our meals took a while, but we did come at lunch rush. Our waiter kept trying to upsell us which I don't appreciate especially when we're ordering drinks, an app, and mains. Price: this place is definitely pricey especially for drinks (but their drinks are delicious). We paid $100 for 2 cocktails, 1 app, 2 mains, and tip.

Mi Ranchito is part of the growing shoreline in the small village of Boca de Tomatlán at the mouth of an inlet roughly 10 miles south of downtown Puerto Vallarta. Construction was busy in several newish places as we walked from the parking area to the restaurant which sits right on the water. We stopped here for lunch as part of an ATV tour. The cafe is open air and covered, benefiting from a cool breeze blowing in off the pacific. Inside is comfortable, with sand for a floor that feels nice on bare feet. The menu is standard. We ordered ceviche, which came as a very large portion. The Mexican salsa, a tomato, jalapeño, and onion mixture common in this area, was spicier than others we've had. One of our party ordered the Pineapple Surprise, a drink that is served inside a carved pineapple, with a face made of fruit and toothpicks on the front. It was definitely a crowdpleaser. Other dishes we tried were octopus- based and rated fine to not so good. My only minor gripe is the table server used her rapport with us to hit us with a sales pitch for necklaces made of whale bones and shells. Her prices were high and, as always here, negotiating tactics were strong. I typically just wave the vendors off cuz they seem to get pissy if you take an interest then decide not to buy. I'd rather not mix that dynamic with table service. Other than that, three stars for Mi Ranchito. And I expect this area will likely grow in the coming years to have some better competition. The location is great!
