The food was great! But the waiter wouldn't stop staring at me the whole time I was there. Plus he never came back to check on us.

Went here with my mom, niece and three toddlers. They has chicken nuggets for the kids and they ate them up! Two of us adults had combo plates with enchiladas and a taco. It was good. I would suggest to the cooks that they place the taco on the other side of the rice, versus by the enchiladas. The tacos get soggy in the sauce and fall apart before you can eat them. The meals were tasty though. My niece had the fajitas with shrimp in them. They were really, really good! Not for me I hate the way sink water taste without a filter the food wasn't that good and the bathrooms are kind of nasty.

I pass through Larned pretty often, and usually stop here for lunch when I need to eat out. It's affordable (if you know what to get), good food, and friendly service. I can usually get a good size main dish with a side of rice and beans, and a drink, for around eight dollars, if you use the lunch menu. You can really get a good deal if you go on Taco Tuesday, where tacos are only a dollar. Most of the food is more American-Mexican than authentic Mexican, but it's still pretty good, and they do have a few dishes which are closer to authentic. The meat is fairly good quality, never too much fat or gristle, usually well cooked. The chip dip isn't too spicy, but if you're one who likes spicy dip, you can order their warmer stuff which is hot enough to numb your taste buds. I would also recommend their fried ice cream, which is probably the best I've had. The staff is generally pretty friendly and helpful, always there to give you a refill or take your plate when you need it. The only complaint I've ever had is a language barrier with a couple of the waiters, but it's never been a big problem. Overall if you're looking for an affordable place to get some good Mexican food, I would recommend El Dos De Oros. read more

The food is ok but it is very outdated on the inside. Very few of the staff speak English and I never know what I am paying for.

Drove through from Texas so I'm a regular Mexican food eater. We stopped here from reading the great reviews. Service- very nice but rarely saw them. Drinks- had a margarita and it was fine. The food was *not* great. My mother had Chile Colorado and I had a combination plate. Her food was so spicy that it was nearly inedible. My chile rellano and tamale were unpalatable but the chicken enchilada was good. The salsa was sweet, & the queso was runny and spicier than the salsa. Price- great. I would have been upset to have paid more for that meal. Overall- wouldn't recommend and won't go back. read more

I'm an east coast girl, grew up outside of Washington DC. While coming to Larned to work at the state hospital, this is one of the only restaurants in Larned KS. The service was friendly, speedy, and wonderfully delicious. They also do not skimp on the size of the Margaritas! Am planning my next trip here soon, as I want to try some of their fun desserts! read more

Half way thru my 1,770mi journey from Scottsdale, AZ to Brainerd, MN i was driving diagonally across Kansas. Restaurants are apparently scarce along the 283, 50, 183, and 56. I finally googled restaurants in the next biggest town, Larned. I was hankering for Mexican, and since there wasn't a Taco Bell, I thought I'd give this place a try. As I pulled up the parking lot was packed. Solid Restaurant Style salsa, fresh Guacamole, and even cheese dip. I had the two burrito combo; one steak, one chicken. Muy delicioso! Friendly ownership. Really delicious Mexican food in the heart of Kansas. (This from someone who's lived in both Texas and California.) Ate here while traveling across Kansas on motorcycle. Asked someone at the campground what there was to eat and this seemed like the only option. Service was great and the food was good. Ask for the hot salsa... it was very good. Margarita was very good too! read more
