I ordered the cheese pupusas for an appetizer, these were my favorite item, they were similar to a quesadilla, but the cheese seemed softer and to melt in your mouth, they were served with pickled cabbage, pickled vegetables and salsa which gave them a great flavor a cooked bread was also served as a free appetizer. I ordered the $6.99 lunch special of Carne Asada, which included, steak and a choice of 2 sides, which were sweet plantains and black beans. My only complaint is that I ordered the steak to be cooked medium and it was well done, the food wasn't anything unique or special but the customer service was really good, the wait staff was very friendly and did a great job of catering to their tables, especially for how busy it was. This is the best customer service I've had at a Latin restaurant. If your over in this area for lunch you won't be disappointed with the prices or customer service. read more

You're welcomed with smiles and fresh hot buttery Cuban bread! The first time I was here, I had the huevos rancheros for breakfast. The cafe con leche is a must!!! They do it RIGHT!!! The milk is super hot and stays hot the whole time, ever heard of foamy creamy boiling milk with coffee, that's what's cafe con LECHE is all about! Second time was for lunch - I got the to tostones rellenos (it's actually on the dinner menu lol) - which is plantains stuffed with shrimp and fish with avocados on the side. Out of this world good! The horchata is a drink that has rice, milk and the mora seed straight from El Salvador! It's nothing like I've had before. I found a server who spoke English (phew, since my Spanish is worthless) and ordered two of their most popular entrees, the churrasco and their breaded chicken, along with the pupusa with all their fillings (cheese, beans and meat), the rice and beans as a side, and the sweet plantains side. Then I spotted Inca cola in the fridge (YES) and had to get two cans of that, along with tres leche cake. It's a small place but the service is always adequate enough. The food is what stands out. Vaca Frita, Ropa Vieja, Pescado Ajillo, Chuletas de Puerco, and my personal favorite sandwich the Croqueta Preparada are my recommendations. I am a big fan of this place. It's a quaint spot in a strip mall, right next to the Cool Stuff game store. I had their bistec de palomilla lunch special, which was priced under $7. And it was downright delicious! I also drank the horchata, which was a bit different than I'm used to (this version had a darker, brownish tint with a more distinct cinnamon flavor), but tasty nonetheless. The drink was $2.25. The meal also came with buttered toast as an appetizer, as well as a mint at the end. Details like that are always well-noted and appreciated by me. Eating here takes me down memory lane, to my time in Nicaragua where i ate VERY well! That was where I learned that a chunk of cheese is a normal part of your dinner or breakfast plate. In fact, my FAVE dish is the Cena Hondurena - which is a quite feast! It's usually two meals for me. It has rice, corn/flour tortilla, plantains, steak or chicken, avocado, eggs, crema, and queso. This breaks my heart since my family has been eating here for years. Before this last visit I never had an issue. The food is wonderful. My issue was with my waitress. Maybe it was a language barrier that caused all of the mistakes and I want to mention that they were able to fix the order after it was addressed. Here is the issue. After eating we were handed the bill just like always. But when it was returned with my credit card that had added a 15% tip. We were a table a 3. One adult and two children under 10. I did not authorize a tip. This was not a party of 10. I decided to just pay it and walk out. There are other restaurants to eat at. This one lost my patronage. read more
