Worst Cuban sandwich I ever had. Pork was so dry and I found a bone, weird? What is the place doing on base? Terrible.

I visited this restaurant around 1:00 PM, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing…read more When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only two tables being served. Despite having two employees standing at the front talking behind the register, the restroom had no toilet paper. When we placed our order, we were told they were out of yucca balls and that they also had no beer available. We ordered a tripleta, beef patties, and juice instead. What was most frustrating was that the customer who ordered immediately after us was able to order and receive yucca balls. We asked about the discrepancy, and the explanation we were given was that she had ordered them earlier. However, we clearly heard her place the order while standing there. A simple, honest response--such as acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding and apologizing for serving the last order to another customer--would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction left us feeling singled out and, honestly, racially profiled because the other customer was Hispanic. Ironically, we are Hispanic as well, which made the situation even more disappointing. To top it off, the "tripleta" sandwich was not an authentic tripleta. If the chef wants to call it a traditional tripleta, it should follow the classic preparation and the meats that make a tripleta what it is. Otherwise, it would be better to rename the sandwich rather than market it as a traditional tripleta. Anyone from Puerto Rico--or anyone who has enjoyed authentic tripletas at Puerto Rican restaurants--will immediately notice the difference and likely be disappointed. The sandwich would also benefit greatly from properly seasoning both the pork and the steak. Adding the traditional mayo-ketchup sauce would go a long way toward delivering the authentic flavor people expect from a tripleta. The beef empanadas made the one star in this review since they were decently stuffed. Just need to work better on the wrapping. I posted a pic. But at least they were made and not bought frozen. I understand that mistakes happen, but honesty, consistency, authenticity, and good customer service are what determine whether customers return. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations.

The Cuban sandwich was just phenomenally delicious. The pernil was well received by everyone too. The ropa vieja was great too. To be fair, there were no losing meals at that table. We could have all switched plates and enjoyed something delicious. This food is well flavored, but not spicy. That's not a flaw. That's just how the food is.

The staff individually are good folks, but during a rush one can see some discourse. I went with my family of 7 and we ordered a family meal for the kiddos and my husband I got some dishes (minr was stewed chicken and he got the friend chicken? ) i asked for cabbage for my side.. and ended with plaintains.... dont get me wrong, the plantains were really good..... overall the food was very flavorful and we enjoyed it (husband said it definitely satisfy his belly for home foods of puerto rico). The family meal was advertised with 2 lt and salad... needless to say we never got those so I did feel a bit shammed there. Overall the food is great and great place for those who love puerto rican food :D

They are huge too! Ask for the mayo-ketchup to dip or smother them in. The only issue we had was that the yucca was cold... but we asked for them to heat it up and they accommodated us. After searching via the Waze app, we looked on Google, and it's in Panama, the country! So, we're already irritated, but no worries. Havana Night came to the rescue! So much that we ate there the following evening, too. Also, we asked some locals what they preferred getting from the menu. They all went with the dinner plate, your choice of chicken, beef, or pork with two sides for $13.99-$15.99. On both visits, we went with the chicken with black rice and black beans, a staple for most Cuban restaurants. Most importantly, the service was courteous and willing to explain any dishes. Their restrooms, tables, and floors were clean, too. It is a very well-run establishment. So, do not hesitate to eat here. On a side note, we had a conversation with another guest upon returning to our hotel. We asked him what he had in his plastic bag because of the pleasant smell. He mentioned a Mexican restaurant but quickly said the same about our take-out. When the wife replied, "It's from Havana Night," he promptly gasped and replied, "Oh wow, that's wild. I had that for lunch with some co-workers here for business. We plan on going back. It's just a hole-in-the-wall place next to a gas station, but it's so good.

Unfortunately, the experience was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Even though they weren't that busy, the wait was unusually long. The service felt disorganized and indifferent, and customer service was frankly terrible. Our order wasn't made correctly, and when we asked about it, it turned into an ordeal that caused an even longer delay. The food itself was bland and far from the rich, flavorful Cuban food I grew up on. The croquettes were clearly frozen and had zero taste, and even the lemonade was watery and flavorless. Nothing had the seasoning or soul that Cuban food is known for. On top of that, the truck's menu is misleading--they don't even use the one printed on the truck. Instead, there's a random paper menu taped to the window. And don't dare pay with cash unless you want to stand there for 10 minutes while they figure out how to give you change. The worst part? The owner seemed miserable and completely disengaged, like they had no passion for the food or the business. That lack of care shows in every part of the experience. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. There are much better Cuban food options out there--this is not it.
