We were there for about 20-30 minutes, and we asked about it, and they made it again, but it was a very long wait in the end. They were very busy. The service was great. Sandwich made with inhouse baked bread (best bread ever) , but I am used to having (Leg Ham ) "Jamon de pierna" and not deli ham . On the other hand the Beef Pastelitos wr average ( meat could have used more flavor ) and it wasn't glazed. Stopped by El Coqui on our way to the beach and had the best empanadas! The staff were friendly and food came out quick. Pricing was very reasonable, 2 empanadas were $5.50! There's a lot of other options on the menu to try. The bakery was filled with people but the line moved quickly. There is limited parking in the plaza as well. The Don Coqui is another standout, and the Coqui Fries come in a huge portion loaded with toppings, perfect for sharing. Empanadas and pastelitos are flavorful, and the sorullos make a good side as well. I've heard excellent things about their coffee and the Mallorca so that is next on the list to try. Every dessert I've had has been impressive, but the guava cheese quesito is a must--don't leave without it. It can get busy, and parking is limited, so come prepared for a bit of a wait. We ordered a group of things: mallorca bread, an entire loaf of toasted pan sobao with butter, avena, alcapurria, empanadas de pollo, sugar donuts, quesitos de queso, quesitos de guava, a steak sandwich, the bistrami sandwich, parcha juice. The Mallorca is perfectly sweet and fluffy and came warm in a box. The Bistrami sandwich also caught me by surprise as I hadn't had steak and pastrami in the same sandwich before. There's good coffee here, yet this is not a coffeehouse. There's also good food, yet not the best in town. It is a nice clean space with several tables, and they have a nice breakfast menu. I'm so glad I moved here to Deltona, Florida, AKA Deltona-Rico. And even more so that I discovered the Coqui Bakery. They are very friendly, amicable, always serve with a smile. Who ever is at the register always repeats your order to make sure you get what you want, how you want it. Their "Fuerte" coffee is guaranteed to keep you up all day! Really High-Octane! LOL. I'm a new resident to Florida so I'm on the hunt for all the small businesses/ mom and pop shops especially when it comes to Coffee. I wish I would have gotten the woman's name who took my order she was so nice especially with all my questions about what the items were. I didn't get as many photos as I'd like but I will definitely be back. I had a Cafe con Leche with half the sugar (brown sugar) it was amazing and got me through my entire day. I'm so in LOVE with this bakery!! First time I tried the empanadas was at work, a coworker brought in the beef ones as well as the guava quesitos, and wow, I was HOOKED! I asked him where he got them from and he told me and I've been making a trip from Winter Park once a week or two (might have a slight obsession, but I promise it's so worth it!). I've been sharing them with everyone to try, gotta share the love you know! This place is located in a plaza. I usually come in the morning and the plaza is fairly busy but I haven't had an issue finding parking. The staff is always so sweet and welcoming, and patient while you order. If you are from the island of Puerto Rico then you will enjoy this little authentic bakery/Breakfast spot in Deltona. They don't sell pork bacon but they do sell turkey bacon which is super good. We usually order a egg and turkey sandwich that they put on the flat iron. One of my favorite is called: Pan DE Mallorca (Puerto Rican Sweet Rolls) it's origins can be traced back to the ensaiimada a coiled pastry from the Spanish island of Majorca. The dough is rolled and coiled to create airy and flaky layers. The rolls are then baked until golden and topped with plenty of powered sugar. They can be sliced in half, spread with butter, and toasted. In Puerto Rico they are often served as a sandwich. I usually get mine with egg and turkey bacon. The coffee also is so good. My wife an I will drop the kids off at school and we go have a quick breakfast. read more

How sad it is to be a good customer and call to place an order and be on hold for 20 minutes. Then I hang up to call again and the young lady that answered disregard that I was on hold for 20 minutes and rudely told me she was taking care of customers. Why even answer the phone and not clarify immediately that they have no time to take orders. Ive been a general manager for over 22 years and customer service is very important. Being informative upfront to avoid a customer being upset is a must. She was rude and not respectful when I mentioned it was my 3rd time calling and being on hold twice and just hung up the phone. I visit Coqui bakery to support local business owners especially because I am Puerto Rican myself and due to her rudeness and inconsiderate behavior I will No longer support your business.
