Wow, super high quality Catalan food here with friendly service leaving you feeling like a local.
El Celler D'en Miquel is a good-sized restaurant in the town of Vic that serves menu del dia (pre-set menus where you have various dishes to choose from for different courses at a set price) as well as al la carta (individual items). This is heart of Catalan country, so that is the default but they use spanish too. No idea about english, I didn't speak any.
I came in on a Monday at about 2pm with my partner and it was packed. A lot of restaurants close on Monday, so that added to the crowds. There is bar seating, outdoor tables and a dining area in the back. Be prepared to wait if you come at a high-traffic time. The waiters are friendly and casual, but aren't going to put up with much bs. Wood panelling made it feel cozy inside on a rainy day.
The food is fantastic, fresh and well made. I had my usual sheep cheese salad with dried fruits and nuts. It was gigantic and fresh. Pappas bravas were on-point with a very, very spicy sauce. Jose had a menu with three courses that he loved. The beef he had was well cooked and full of flavor and he wolfed down dessert!
