Riofrio is a small village in the Loja mountains.
It was…read morerecommended that we stop here on our way from Seville to Granada for some caviar tasting.
Apparently, Riofrio caviar is a famous organic caviar (even though we never heard of it)
They have a sturgeon farm. "The water that comes from a natural spring just 300 meters from the fish farm, and the special temperature conditions of the environment, produce caviar that is characterized by its freshness and richness of flavor."
The restaurant had a very extensive menu, however we were there primarily for the caviar, so we ordered caviar, sturgeon croquettes & bottle of cava.
It wasn't as briny as the world renown caviar, but it did hold its own.
Riofrio was well worth the stop.
