El-Bandito is a Mexican restaurant in the Zehlendorf area of Berlin. It's one of those places where everything on the menu is always 50% off.
If I could give it a rating of -5, I would. It was THAT bad.
First of all, the name is 100% accurate. The goal of this restaurant is to take your money and provide barely anything in return.
In fact, I'm pretty sure the name is an inside joke designed to make fun of their customers.
The food is standard Mexican fare. Burritos, enchiladas, chilli con carne, etc.
I ordered the chicken burrito.
When it arrived, it was obvious it had come straight out of a microwave.
Taste-wise, Taco Bell is like a Michelin starred restaurant compared to El Bandito.
When it came time to ask for the bill, I had to wait 10 minutes to get the waiter's attention because he was having a conversation with one of his friends, completely oblivious to customers.
By the way, none of the staff looked even remotely Mexican.
Wherever they're from, they obviously had absolutely no clue about Mexican food, or running a restaurant in general.
In fact, I'd be surprised if these fools could locate Mexico on a map.
All in all, it was a complete waste of time and money. The only positive aspect about the experience was that I didn't get food poisoning.
