We ordered the fish chicharron. Not even close to the same dish served at the other location. It made us so upset, that it's not even worth talking about anymore. My son LOVES the paella at the other location. He picked the shrimp out and refused to eat the rest. We all tried it and agreed, it lacked flavor, and it didn't even feel like it was cooked the same. I ordered the caldo 7 mares. This one is mixed. It was FULL of seafood...but ZERO of the rich seafood broth you expect. For the price, the broth should at least taste...well, no joke but it should taste like fish. Even salt didn't help. The misses ordered the fried fish and shrimp. That was the best dish, and not by much. We had a michelada, and it wasn't bad, but again didn't hold a candle to the other location. The one sauce, the chipotle mayo type, was absolutely delicious. The green one not so much. Even that sauce is completely different than the 151 location. The chips were stale... Our waitress visited us once, and we WERE the only family dining there. No refills for us I guess! We were perplexed how the same family of restaurants can be so different!!! Visit the 151 location, trust me!

Absolutely delicious!…read more I've been to EDA once before and have been craving their empanadas ever since! Much like last time, there seemed to be only one person running the shop, the place was sparkling clean (including the restrooms), and there was ample seating in the dining area. The music was a little too loud, especially so in the bathroom, but otherwise the café was so nice. The menu is chock-full of delicious sounding dishes and boba drinks, but I opted for two of their ready to go empanadas. I had the Beef & Cheese, and the Chicken Salteña Empanadas. Both were super yummy and neither the beef nor chicken was dry inside. The fillings were savory, the Beef & Cheese amazingly creamy, and the Chicken Salteña a good blend of spices. The raisins in the Salteña did throw me off for a moment as I didn't think they worked all too well with the rest of the texture of the filling, but it didn't detract too much from the empanada. The dipping sauce that they came with was so tasty and flavorful as well! I was only able to finish half of each empanada because they were so big, but the server was kind enough to give me extra sauce with my to-go box. It added another layer of tastiness to the experience! EDA is a little out of the way for me so I'm not able to go as much as I'd like, but I know I'll be stopping in to snag an empanada or a boba tea when I'm in the area. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

My husband and I have been here before but we can't remember if it was owned by the same person…read more I'm sure I would have remembered Chef Waldito! Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the Chef Waldito with open arms, amazing energy and you can tell he absolutely LOVES what he does! The restaurant is small but cozy with accolades all over the wall. He explained the menu, the buffet and said he would make anything to order but recommended the buffet. How could you not have a smile on your face when someone talks straight from the heart about making food for his customers?!? We opted for the buffet which was all you can eat and his homemade tea for only $12!! He says he only makes enough money to cover the rent because feeding people was his love language. This touched us! You can get either one or both soups. He served a seafood soup and a chicken noodle soup. The soups was very flavorful and warm. He also serves bread with it as well. The chicken noodle soup was on point! It was flavorful, the noodles were cooked well and wasnt mushy. He will serve you the buffet. It had roasted chicken, then a chicken stew with Caribbean vegetables (plantains, yucca, etc), yucca, black or red beans and either white or rice with gandules. Being that my husband is from the islands, we know flavor! Unfortunately, the beans and the stew had little to no flavor, not even salt. Additionally, the beans were burnt. The arroz con gandules was odd. It lacked flavor and I'm not sure how you can get mushy but underdone rice. The stew tasted like it was just watered down. He graciously made fresh fried Maduros which were great and fried pork as well. The tea that came with it was very good! I'd definitely order a pitcher of it! It had a lot of fruit and floral notes for a tea! Unfortunately, the food missed the mark for us. We couldn't even finish it, let alone even eat half. We were so disappointed because you can tell he absolutely loves and lives off of his love for cooking. I don't know if my husband and I were off on our taste buds that day. I gave this a three star because Chef Waldito was such a pleasure to be around. He made it worth while and I don't want his restaurant to fail. If it were solely on the food, I truly hate to say it but I would have given it a one star. If there's a next time, we might just order off the menu! We do wish him luck and if he or someone that knows him reads this, we hope it will be more helpful than hurtful.

My son and I both like Colombian food based on visits to a competitor that we have gone to many times closer to our house. When I mentioned this place to him, he said we should try it out soon. Today was the day. The first thing I noticed was the size of the dining room. It was roomy with several tables that were appropriately spread out. The decor is attractive with eye catching art painted on the white walls. The tables all have a splash of color on them, as well. Altogether is creates a bright and cheery atmosphere. We were very comfortable. I also noticed that the one television on the far wall was showing Univision and the music being played was in Spanish. I really like the music of a restaurant to reflect the nationality of the cuisine. Our server was an extremely helpful young man. He helped us with the menu. Unlike what is stated in other reviews, the food is described in english. Unfortunately, there are some items that don't translate. Those are the ones I needed help with. We both ended up ordering the same thing. It was lengua in a delicious tomato sauce served with french fries, avocado slices, white rice, salad, and a fried plantain patty. The amount of food on the plates was absolutely outrageous, but we managed to get pretty danged close to clean plates. The flavors were really nice. There was a huge squeeze bottle of Salsa Colombiana (I think that's what he called it) and another with Salsa tartara, the Columbian version of tartar sauce. It was amazing. It was creamy and savory without that sweet pickle taste American folk put on seafood. For drinks, I had a jugo de pina. My son had one made with passion fruit. I heard them being made fresh in the kitchen. They blended the fresh fruit with some water or milk and ice. Mine was really refreshing. It was served in those giant iced tea glasses some places use. There was a lady and her son at another table. I listened as they ordered in Spanish. They asked almost the same questions as we did, so being fluent in Spanish must not mean you would understand the Colombia specific food vocabulary. As we were paying our bill, the lady was pointing to everything on her plate asking "What is this?" in Spanish. I found that a little humorous, as the explanations when ordering were pretty good. My son and I had not problems recognizing the foods on our plate based on what we had heard. On our way home, we passed by the Bandera location. My son pointed it out to me. I don't remember ever seeing it there, but my son says he knew about it. That made me wonder why we frequented the competitor on Tezel where we like the food, but felt uncomfortable being packed in so close in the tiny dining room. In the truck, my son was already telling me what he planned to eat next time. There will definitely be a next time. I need to try their arepas and empanadas, as well as some other jugos.
