This place is kind of hidden, and personally i think it gets lost in the fold of the other Mexican offerings in la grange. My go to has become SavorMex. I thought my Chefs quesadilla was good and I enjoyed every bite. Their menu seemed to be lacking, maybe because it was or maybe because I just overlooked it. Wife wasn't too enthused about her fajitas. I thinking having to cut the chicken and steak was kind of odd, too. Extensive drink menu. Decent prices. Big outdoor seating section. Loved that there's a separate room for kids to run in around too, I don't recommend sitting in the booth next to it, sitting between that and the kitchen was too noisy for comfortable conversation, but great that kids were laughing and having fun! This place is kind of hit or miss for me and my family. When the food is good it's exceptionally delicious and awesome, but other times it's just "eh." The food is reasonably priced, and they have specialty dishes I haven't seen anywhere else. Well, perhaps it's because I've never looked -- I'm not exactly "adventurous" when it comes to Mexican food. ;-) The great: We LOVE the outdoor patio with a play area for the kiddos and TVs (football!) for the adults = YES!!!! Who goes to a Mexican restaurant and orders a cheeseburger and fries? THIS GIRL!!! On this particular day everyone wanted Mexican for lunch but I wasn't feelin' it. Luckily the nice gentleman who waited on us allowed me to order the cheeseburger off the kids menu. HAHAHAHA!!! For less that six bucks I had a huge meal and it was soooo good! I was a little surprised to be honest. The burger actually came with little potato smiley faces but he offered me fries instead. The burger was really tasty and was made with a double patty. The fries were hot and crispy. The only condiments they had was ketchup, but that was just fine with me! I did have some chips and salsa and I must say it was pretty great. Some of the best I've had. On my next visit I'll probably try the fish tacos. They looked great!! read more

Honestly. The food was good, the service was fucking shit.. I made two pretty large orders for takeout. They told me the totals on the phone and when I arrived they told me two totally different totals, but I was like okay maybe they just rung it up wrong. Well we go through our orders to make sure we have everything, come to find out they left out two fried burritos. When I called back to tell them they argued with me and said I never ordered them, when in fact they read it all back to me when I took the order.. And also read it to me as I picked up my order.. But continually argued with me and I had to pay again for the two burritos they had apparently charged me for over the phone. I was NOT satisfied with the customer service or the inconvenience of having to argue with the SAME person who took my order in the first place.. My mother was next to me as I ordered and as he read it back off, but he refused fault and wasn't nearly decent about the situation. I won't return and I'm incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed. If your definition of Mexican food starts with melted Velveeta mixed with Pace Picante sauce and ends with week-old tortilla chips paired with salsa that tastes suspiciously like Ragu, this is the place for you. If you like your margarita mix sold to you as though it has even a molecule of tequila in it, when it's as virgin as the newly fallen snow, this is your restaurant. If Taco Bell is a little too authentic a Mexican meal, eat at this dumbed-down atrocity of a food trough. I really like Americanized Mexican restaurants (Fiesta Mexicana in Mt. Washington has, it would appear, set the bar for quality), but one meal at this place has made me rethink the entire genre. The food was the worst of its type my wife and I have ever eaten (and we've eaten some garbage). Service was surly from the very beginning and they never got my wife's order right: we finally just gave up and made do. I see the high rating this place has both here and on Urbanspoon (where Cracker Barrels are often rated the Best In Town) and I despair that people think this "food" is good, or even representative of our town in particular, and Kentucky in general. Maybe we went on a bad night, a night when the chef and our waiter had discovered they were engaged to the same woman and were taking it out on the diners. But, looking back on that night, the people around us were joyfully shoveling down the sludge on their plates without any hesitation or gripe. This restaurant is absolute shit. I'd write a better review if I could actually eat there. I'm in town on business for the next few weeks. I always try to enjoy local restaurants when I travel, so I asked the locals where to go. I was told repeatedly to try La Acupulco, as apparently a local favorite I would go try it. I looked them up on the internet, I checked out the pile of menus and coupons in the lobby of my hotel, I heard everybody say that they liked it, so I decided to go eat there. I drove to the restaurant to find that it was closed and in the middle of renovation, with the parking lot filled with debris and a crude handwritten sign taped on the windows saying that it had just closed that day for 2 weeks of renovation. I had checked out their website before going there, they hadn't listed their 2-week closing on their website with listing their hours, or listed it anywhere on their page (which apparently hadn't been updated in over a year). I asked all the various locals that recommended the place that I work with and are on staff at the hotels that I am staying at, and none of them knew it was being closed for two weeks for renovation. They apparently did an extremely poor job of conveying to the general public that they were closing for two weeks in what had to be a long-planned action (you don't get that many contractors to a building overnight). So, for the total failure of customer service and public relations in making no effort to communicate their renovation efforts, preventing me from eating there, I have no choice but to call this a one-star place. read more

This is our favorite restaurant. They are super nice and we haven't had anything we didn't like. The kids love the fun kids platters too. They have smiley face potatoes and a pancake platter that the kids adore. We only let the kids get the pancakes on special occasions but every time we order any of the other kids platters they eat almost everything (even the eggs on the happy kid platter). The adult platters are so delicious. We have tried fajitas, taco salad, tamales, chili rellenos, this spicy beef platter which has become one of our favorites, burritos, it's all good. read more

One of the best restaurants in La Grange. Once again they did not disappoint. The minute you sit down a server appears to take your drink order and bring some great hot chips and salsa. My chicken was good as well and not dry like it could be sometimes. Chips and salsa were average but they serve some kind of spicy ranch style dip as well that was good. We had dinner here and we sat outside which was awesome. So if weather permits sit outside. Great atmosphere. A group of us at dinner so we had a variety of food. From a mushroom and chicken quesadilla to the Mexicano shrimp (which I had and was delicious). Served w beans and rice, beans were not my favorite as they were just mushy mashed beans w very little flavor. Rice was ok. We had queso fon dido for an appetizer and it was delicious. Our service was fine. No complaints. The only issue was when our food was delivered the person was not friendly had an attitude and spilled some food from one of the plates and went ahead and served it actually by throwing plate on the table. And all food arrived w exception of quesadilla and we had to ask for it. Overall an good experience. We would return there again. Sit outside. read more

This is a very good place for a quick lunch or a good dinner out. Especially on karoke night. Great wait staff with fast, good sized portions served out. They have always been very friendly and polite. We eat here probably 2-3 times a month. Get the queso and chips as an appetizer but make sure to leave enough queso to smoother the rest of your food with.
