On the front of Mullaghmore harbour stands this top class seafood restaurant. You can't miss it, the artwork on the outside walls is a 'give-away'. Inside is an eye opener with so much bric-a-brac around the walls. However interesting, we were here for the food. That cannot be surpassed. So fresh and in ample quantity. Initially on the table was seaweed bread with seaweed pesto, unusual for us but so delicious. Large crab claws, huge prawns and shrimp, Donegal mussels galore and beautiful fries (not your thin fries but chunky chips). Fish and chips is a must. Not the battered variety but catch of the day, lightly dusted with polenta, and shallow fried to perfection. Now to my favourites, those Wild Atlantic oysters. Four of them were enough for me. So juicy and succulent, full of the sea but so sweet.
The food was brilliant but let us not forget the service. We had an upstairs table, at the window watching the youngsters jumping off the harbour walls into that freezing water. Being served by a young lady and the owner Eithna. A evening with a perfect last night meal made our holiday unforgettable. Looking forward to a return visit. Slainte Mhath read more
