Pretty good ice cream spot in town. I got the Melone, a classic Italian gelato flavor. While not…read morethe best I've ever had, it certainly wasn't the worst, with a couple of icey spots. This place is always packed with customers and the service wasn't outrageously friendly. That said, I'd get ice cream here again and I'm not really and ice cream eater.

Wonderful little cafe located in the scenic town of Oberammergau. When I arrived, most of the town…read morewas closed due to it being a Sunday, but Eiscafe Paradiso was one of the few food options available at 10:00 AM in the morning. I was not particularly hungry, but I was so glad I stopped by and tried some of their sweets! We ended up ordering the apple strudel with a side of run based vanilla ice cream and a slice of tiramisu. Both were freshly baked being brought out from what I assume was the bakery/kitchen in the back. The strudel and ice cream was divine, warm, chewy, and easily the best strudel I had so far while touring around Germany. As for the tiramisu, it was unlike any tiramisu I have ever had, as the texture was more a resemblance of a soft sponge cake. I do not mean this in a bad way either, strong balance of coffee and cake, easily could've had another piece honestly. I cannot comment on any savory dishes, but the sweets were worth it alone! Great prices, great service, and great sweets, how could you go wrong?

Let me preface this review by stating that I am not the biggest fan of Bavarian food, but felt…read moreobligated to have at least one traditional local meal while traveling through Bavaria. We had the beer-fried cheese as an appetizer; it was a good comfort food. I had the veal schnitzel which came with a cornmeal coating. I am not sure the cornmeal coating worked as it was more crunchy than crispy (1 star off), but the veal was tender and seasoned well. My husband got the bratwurst with sauerkraut. The ground meat to make bratwurst in Bavaria is more homogeneous and smooth than that in the U.S.; I liked the texture and flavor. I left still feeling the same about Bavarian food unfortunately, but this place gave me a bit more optimism.

Wow! This place is a gem in a beautiful town. My family and I stopped here on a rainy day during…read morethe week for an early dinner. The waitstaff is really friendly and accommodating to foreigners who don't speak German. They have an English menu too which is great. Everything my party ordered was amazing! There was no food left on the table once we were through. I ordered the roasted salmon and it was amazing. So flavorful and fresh tasting. My husband ordered the salmon pasta and that was really delicious as well. They have plenty of seating indoors and even have a kids seat. I highly recommend if you're in the area. I'll definitely be returning again if I'm ever in town.
