The restaurant is in the sous terrain of the building and rather small but very cozy. After entering you find two areas to sit: One is with chairs and tables and the other one is a room with tatami mat and small tables where you can sit on cushion on the floor. But don't forget to take off your shoes first! The owner is just adorable. I love her and all the other staff. If you have any question or are new into Korean food don't be shy and ask instead! The waiter will gladly explain you everything. The menu is quite big compared to the size of the restaurant itself. You can choose between several starters such as mandu or kimbap. As main course they have 4 different bibimbap dishes, several bulbogi meals, soups and udon. You should also check out their tea card! At my first visit we had the udon noodles, kimbap, mandu, seafood soup and some extra kimchi. The price for the starters are really fair. The mandu are handmade as far as I can judge and the kimbap plate is quite big for 4€. The main dishes on the other hand are a bit too small for my taste but super delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the small amount of side dishes. On my second visit I went for bibimbap and mandu. Again... the bibimbap was super nice but a tiny bit too small. I ordered extra kimbap after finishing my bowl. Even though I'm a fan of big bowls I still love shikgoo. Maybe I just had the wrong dishes or a huge stomach. Who knows. Fact is: I've been here twice and I'll definitely come back!

It was just like my mom used to make. I'm Korean, and my mom is a bomb cook so you can trust me. The service is excellent, and the owner is incredibly friendly. He seems to be a native Berliner from what I could tell. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, and yet, the ambiance is excellent. The decor is really well done (check out the pictures). It's perfect for a casual meal but could also work for a date. I'm definitely going to be coming back for the kimchi jjigae (highly recommended!).

We will definetely go there again since we want to try more things. The first time we ordered sour-spicy cucumbers (Gurke sauer-scharf), Mao's pork belly (Mao's 5-Schichten Fleisch) and fish soup (Fischhäppchensuppe). We were surprised how good the cucumbers were. They were covered in chillis, cilantro leaves, garlic all covered in the best dressing ever. The taste of the soup was very specific. It was good but if you don't like the sechuan pepper you probably won't like it. Mao's pork was just amazing. Everything combined was 21€. The second time we had Spicy napa cabbage (Scharfer Chinakohl), Ribs (Rippchen mit Jiaoyan) and eggplants with pork mince (Auberginen). The ribs were fried (did not expect that) but were tasty anyway. We ordered everything from the red menus that were on the tables. They also have some cheaper options written on the wall, however, I would recomend you to pay +1 or 2€ more per dish and get something from the menu. You won't regret it!

So when I landed in the heart of Berlin (in Mitte), my first stop in Western Europe, I made a B-line without hesitation. The highlight here for me was the raw egg served in a separate bowl with broth. The egg poaches itself in the hot broth. And it's so good!! I haven't had this since I was in Hanoi all the time, and where it's commonplace. The pho bowls (triple beef combo & chicken pho) were just okay. Broth came out piping hot, but also heavy on the MSG. I swear I was drinking water non-stop all night. Also, they really skimp on the noodles. I mean, dry rice noodles are very inexpensive (fresh noodles aren't available here), and most places load up on the noodles. The deep fried breadsticks came out cold and somewhat hardened. We were there for dinner and I'm guessing they were fried much earlier in the day. Disappointing that they weren't even barely warm. Service was friendly, and apparently a popular spot in Mitte. I'm not well versed on pho in Berlin, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. There are actually quite a lot of pho spots in Berlin, which I subsequently tried and enjoyed more.

Walking in and being met with the Vietnamese Communist Flag is a bit unnerving. But let's put…read morepolitics aside and focus on the pho here. The soup was very flavorful. Broth nice clean and clear of grease. Generous amount of noodles. I had the pho tai but I think my meat was a bit too thick and cooked. It didn't taste like the usual thin rare slices. It came with bean sprouts (we had to ask for more; they give little compared to the US), basil, sliced chili peppers, and limes. Perfect. I enjoyed it so much that I didn't even add sriracha. That's when I know it's good. If you can ignore that lit up communist flag, pop in for a very good bowl of pho.
