Horrible office staff. Office staff lack empathy to patients and care for reason why patients need to be seen by a Cardiologist.

When my dear father was in the ICU at the hospital fighting for his life, cardiac…read moreelectrophysiologist Dave T. Kim, M.D., who was called in as a cardiology consultant, approached my family and me and said to us, "There's a 95% chance that your father will die in a matter of hours" or very similar words to that effect. I felt horrified to hear that, which I perceived to be very pessimistic. I wondered why more optimistic cardiologists who believed they could save my father's life had not been consulted yet. After this encounter with Dr. Kim, I told my father's attending physician that I wanted to fire the cardiology consultants who had been called in and instead consult a cardiothoracic surgeon who believed he could save my father's life. Shortly afterward, a highly respected cardiothoracic surgeon was consulted and performed a quick surgical procedure that saved my beloved father's life and beat Dr. Kim's pessimistic odds (95% chance that my father would die within hours). I'm eternally grateful that I ignored Dr. Kim's pessimistic prognosis. I'm also eternally grateful for the real compassion and incredible skills of the outstanding, optimistic cardiothoracic surgeon who gave my father the priceless gift of many more years of life and love to share with his whole family.

I said Sharon was really helpful the other day, meaning when I called for an appointment. Sharon led me to the medical room, took my blood pressure (120/74?), gave me an EKG. When she left I raised the curtain to check the view. Somehow the wide windows and trees make the freeway and onramp look attractive. While waiting, I skimmed the "Good Nutrition" brochure. When Yesenia arrived she gave me what I most want and need: information. Other professionals often just sit typing at the computer, silent. Yesenia kept me fully apprised; admitted she was consulting AI. That's okay with me, I said, as long as an intelligent mind is sorting the response. Yesenia does all those things, so when searching for a word of thanks, I could only acknowledge her as "Exceptional." You run a great office, Dr. Shenkman.

He seems to take care of…read moreeach patient as though they were a member of his own family--proactive, thoughtful, and always putting the person first. I've never met Dr. Arasheban personally, but I've been a physician for over 10 years and have encountered many patients who have him as their doctor. What has always stood out to me is how consistently they speak about him with a level of appreciation and trust that goes beyond simply being satisfied with their medical care. That kind of relationship between a physician and patient is increasingly rare. The impression I've gotten over the years is of a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients and takes personal responsibility for helping them navigate their health. That deserves recognition.

I have been a patient of Dr. Armin S. Arasheben for approximately five years. When I first became…read morehis patient, I was very satisfied with his care. He was attentive, professional, followed up on my lab results, and made sure important primary-care matters were addressed. Unfortunately, my experience with the practice has gradually changed significantly. Over time, the office appears to have shifted away from the level of personal and professional medical care I initially received. Much of my care has been handled by nurse practitioners, and I have had several experiences that raised serious concerns for me regarding attention to detail and professionalism. On multiple occasions, incorrect prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy, and I was the one who noticed the errors. When I brought one of these incidents to Dr. Arasheben's attention, I did not feel that my concern was taken seriously or adequately addressed. Initially, I treated it as an isolated mistake, but over time I experienced additional issues that caused me to lose confidence in the practice. Most recently, when I asked about my overdue annual physical, I was told that it was my responsibility to keep track of when my annual examinations were due. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the level of care, I was essentially told that if I was unhappy, I could find another primary-care physician. After being a patient for five years, this was extremely disappointing. In my experience, the practice today feels much more focused on running and expanding a business than providing the attentive, disciplined primary care that I received when I first became a patient. Based on my recent experiences, particularly the repeated prescription errors and the response to my concerns, I can no longer recommend this practice as a primary-care provider.
