I…read moremoved from Halifax a short while ago and was scared to go to another hair dresser, because I heard so many things about Eccentric I decided to give it a shot. I LOVE the staff, I love the job they do and it's always fun when I go to get my hair done. All the stylists are very knowledgeable and they do the job right without taking any short cuts. I also had my makeup done there for a wedding trial and loved it. Eccentric is a professional studio and quite inexpensive based on what I usually pay. I am SO happy I found this little gem!!!!

I am appalled by the service I received at your establishment today; Super Cuts in Trinity. I…read morecalled to make my 15 year old son and 13 year old daughter an appointment. On the phone I explained that my son had an Afro and extremely tight curls on his head. As I knew it would require time to cut. Once I arrived at this appointment there was no mention of any concerns. The hair dresser combed with a fine comb my sons Afro. Which as anyone who has experienced coarseness of bi-racial hair knows this would take forever. The hair dresser did my sons hair. It took roughly 1 hour and 5/10mins. I knew the hair dresser took her time and tried to make sure he was happy so I tipped her $20 as for her extra time but upon payment another hairdresser by the name of Kelly told me that payment was now over twice the amount of the original pricing. When questioned I was told that my sons hair took longer than the time that YOU allocated for haircuts. I was told that I never notified your location that my son hair was as you put it "matted"; which is a result of this bi-racial heritage. I can only see this as a racial injustice. If my son had smooth hair as a white man he would only be charged the $19 but as he does not he is charged $45 plus a $20 tip for his haircut. There were no signs stating that my son would be subjected to higher fees because of this unwritten policy nor was I asked when I gave the information more about his hair type. I can only feel that this is NOT on the responsibility of me but of the PROFESSIONAL HAIRSTYLEST to inquire about this when I mentioned that my son's hair was an Afro and was tightly curled. As I am not a professional in this field I did not think this would be important nor was I notified about the increase upon arrival. If I had known that my son would have been targeted by your company and made to feel ashamed as you gossiped amongst your colleagues and on the phone about it. I would have taken my money and went to a REAL professional that does not charge based on the racial genetics of his hair but rather on the haircut itself. When I brought him in there was no talk of increased payment until AFTER the haircut had occurred. I find this ridiculous. My son is already shy and was made to feel embarrassed by your location and for that I am absolutely regretful that I took him here and heartbroken that he had to experience this. My son should not be made to feel like he did something wrong and has now cost more money because of something he is born with and cannot control. My son should not be subjected to listen as you ramble among your colleagues about his hair and made to feel awkward. I feel wronged by your company today but more importantly I feel your company wronged my son today. I will never bring my business here again and will disclose this unwritten policy to anyone I know that is thinking of coming here. Discrimination is unfair treatment to an individual based on some sort of characteristic they hold. I absolutely feel discriminated against super cuts of Moncton today. I would in the future like you to be very open that your haircuts are only $19 for those that qualify based on your standards.

Walk out with choppy uneven hair with a few inches shaved down to the scalp. A stylist named Kelly tried to fix it. She appologized profusely and even teared up trying to help me. The man that works the front cash called me on Monday and was raising his voice, said I was being dramatic, its only hair it'll grow back. I have been wearing bandanas and hats because I am so embarrassed. My friend who is a retired stylist came to my home and did what she could. She was in shock saying she knew it was bad but she never imagined it was this bad. There is no excuse for what was done to me. I have a customer facing job where I need to look respectable. I now have a short haircut which will take years to grow back with a ton of hair just gone. I spent 3 days crying over what was done to me. The salons refusal gaslighting of the situation stating she did what I asked her to do and to get over it just shows how little they care. There is no accountability.

I got the same level stylist but she wasn't very friendly and didn't give me the style I wanted and cut my bangs in a way that they have to parted weirdly and look pretty bad. I was super disappointed because it was my first time paying for my own haircut and I walked away with a haircut I didn't like and was not worth the 36$ I paid. I had two different stylists with the same level and got two completely different experiences pretty disappointing and probably won't be coming back.

When she told me she didn't want to dye my hair right away and suggested I do a treatment plan for about a month I was not disappointed! She said " I don't want you to waste your money on putting dye on damaged hair". That to me showed me she cares about her work. Can't wait for my next appointment to get the colour done after she did a drastic cut :)
