I recently needed some rocks identified and had no idea how to go about this since this a totally new thing for me. We brought in a bag with some of the rocks we wanted identified and they were extremely helpful! Not only were they able to identify the rocks but they were very informative about everything related to the rocks. They also let us know about their rock polishing and slicing services so now not only do I know what types of rocks I have but I can get them all spruced up to display in my home. This spot has a great inventory full of beautiful things. I could spend hours just looking at everything in the store. You can get anything from small stones to gorgeous cut bookends. Great old store under new management. New management has been running it for over 2 years so not that new*( I have been out of town for a while) Great store with all the classic charm it had but now with better lighting. Great and knowledgeable guys behind the counter, even learned about the locality of my fiancé's bracelet. Loved the store and I'm ecstatic to see it lives on under very capable new management. They have a large number of new settings and cabochons as well as gem and mineral specimen pieces. They mentioned they also have stones for the metaphysics crowd, which is not my thing, but I'm happy to say this is a store for everyone! I will be back soon! read more

This shop looks small from the outside, but whoa Nellie! It's deceptive. Lots of variety. Fantastic prices and every friendly, helpful staff. I took my family here and they absolutely loved it! My son loves rocks, fossils, geodes, etc and he was overjoyed by the selection. I saw plenty of gems & rocks that I don't recall seeing elsewhere. The prices are very reasonable, which means you can go home with a pocket full of unique treasures and it won't cost a whole lot (depending on what you pick of course). The people were super knowledgeable and friendly. The premises are cozy and memorable. I believe they can customize jewelry too, I didn't do it this time but a family member had it done in the past. Went in today just browsing and were greeted with two very friendly and knowledgeable workers. I stayed there for an hour longer than I was expecting because they had so much to look at, as well as the workers were so friendly and welcoming I spent most of my time talking to them and learning a lot! My fiance and I stopped by this little shop this past Saturday. From the 40 garbage cans full of stones out back to the beautiful geodes and amethyst clusters inside, Eggers is a real gem in itself. We spent a good three hours there looking around, and left with a giant rose quartz, an amethyst cluster, a piece of pyrite, a GIANT piece of obsidian, and some Apache Tears, a ruby zoisite double pointed wand, and several other stones. The prices here are unbeatable and the staff is very friendly. They sell stone beads and some jewelry from local artists. I really enjoyed my experience here and know exactly where to go when I need stones at a very reasonable price. A friend told me about it and I have been made a big fan. Go to Eggers! read more

Nothing special, depleted supplies, and little of anything to get excited about. If you're into metaphysical double talk then this is the place for you! As an experienced lapidarist I was disappointed and embarrassed. Did I mention that they insisted that we check in my wife's purse at the front counter as it was "policy". Funny how the other customers weren't asked to. Too bad there was nothing worth stealing although we were informed that anything we found on the ground it was $2/lb! True story! I've been here dozens of times and been allowed to look in cases before. After driving an hour to look at the shop the owner mouthed off at me for daring to look in a case without asking permission first. We will not be returning. I signed up with Yelp specifically to write about my experience with Eggars Lapidary. I called and was greeted on the phone by a very nice lady who let me know their hours. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Eric who showed me some of the stuff they have. He then led me to the back yard where they have many more samples. They allowed me to roam and pick through some of their bulk samples they keep in bins "between the sheds". I was looking for some Jade and the bin that was supposed to have some was empty, but they did have a smaller box with some nice samples. I then met Scott, the owner, while he was working in his polishing room. He let me know he purchased the business about a year ago. He gave me a tour of his equipment which I thoroughly enjoyed. While looking at the equipment, he showed some of the samples he was working on for other customers to polish and some he was prepping for future sale. I must say Scott and his staff are extremely knowledgeable. The specimens that I had chosen as a gift for my wife (shes more of a rock-hound than me) was a piece of Jade and some others. I asked if they could polish a corner of the Jade for her. They did it on the spot in just a few minutes. I ended up buying 4 different specimens for my wife. The service was excellent, the selection was very good, and the prices very reasonable. Item of note - I'm from the DC area and we don't have this type of stone/mineral shop anywhere near here. I highly recommend seeing Scott at Eggers if you're in the Denver area. read more
