I use Schaefer Enterprises, Inc as my business insurance agency. They have always helped me find the right policies at affordable prices and I honestly never give a second thought to my insurance. UNTIL - Greg Schaefer (the President) suggested I consider renter's insurance. I have lived in NYC for 14 years and did not know a thing about it. Though I don't have a ton of valuables, Greg told me that if anything happened to my apartment or my valuables, I would be covered. It cost so little that I went ahead and signed up. Not even 2 MONTHS LATER, some pipe upstairs broke and I came home to a ruined leather couch and brand new 70 inch Sony LCD TV. I was devastated! And, guess what I learned? - The building is NOT RESPONSIBLE and nor are my upstairs neighbors. This is where renter's insurance kicks in - I got reimbursed for everything! Why would this even be considered against my wife as an insurance issue to deny my ability to receive a quote from Liberty Mutual. I would never ever use Liberty Mutual, I'll keep my Farmers policy upon renewal in January, been with them for 40 years, best Insurance ever. I do get quotes every renewal to verify Farmers is cost is comparable to others, that was the reason I obtained quotes this time.

He never called me back and when I called him he never took my calls or called me back. When I did get him on the phone he would say that he's working on it and would call me back and never called me back. Also, I kept emailing him without a response, finally, one day he responded and said no one would write me a policy. After receiving that message I made a phone call and got a policy written immediately. I have been calling and emailing him to let him know I received a letter from Workers Comp Board and I got a penalty of $11,500.00 for having no workers comp!
