We were excited to try the newest restaurant at this particular location. Efren's was clean and bright w 3 large menu screens w tons of options. The fajitas (carnitas, pollo, shrimp) were at the upper end $$ but I was super hungry and couldn't wait to try. My friends enjoyed a carnitas burrito, veggie burrito and pollo burrito all brought to our table w complimentary chips and salsa. Service was ultra friendly and fast. Food arrived and everything looked awesome, my fajitas were sizzling and everyone had big full burritos. My first bite the contents of my fajitas were over cooked and dry. The meat had some seasoning, but barely. The tortillas looked like flour but tasted like corn, difficult to eat without sour cream, salsa or some kind of sauce. A toss of cheese would have been a great addition. I literally ate 1/2 of my lunch. I looked around the table and every plate had 1/2 eaten burritos. For instance, the carnitas burrito were dry strips of meat and lettuce. We did get beans and rice that had too much salt. Leaving Enron's expecting to be full, I knew this late lunch was not going to hold us over till dinner. This restaurant has great potential and perhaps our lunch was a "one-off" and I'll stop in again and try to update. Overall Grade: C

I always have this place catered for school events but had never actually gone in person, so I had to stop by and it didn't disappoint. They took my order super quickly and even gave me chips and guac while I waited, which was nice. I ordered the flautas combo with rice and beans. The flautas were alright, nothing super special, and I do wish they were filled a bit more. The rice and beans, though, were seasoned really well. Overall, a really solid meal!

I had 3 chicken enchiladas with chips & guacamole. Everything was extremely fresh. We went to the Efren's on Laurel lane where there's plenty of parking. The restaurant is clean & the seating is very comfortable. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves Mexican food & a comfortable dining room.

The food is fresh and delicious just like their other location on Laurel Ln! The customer service was exceptional, very attentive. This spot just opened a few weeks ago and is modern, clean, with a chill ambiance. Highly recommend their enchiladas & quesabirrias.

Probably the only good Mexican food in San Luis! The food, service, and environment is stellar. I really enjoyed their tacos and flan.

The last time was during Christmas which it was Christmas on crack here but in a festive good way. I did get carded walking in, lol... We alway like to utilize the upstairs loft area for drinks. It's a fun spot with cozy lounge and chairs. You have the main communal seating area right in the middle where you can mingle with other guest. There's bar seating along the bar counter and two sections where it's like a private area with sofas along the wall. Somewhat a vip section upstairs. Cocktails are alway good. Same as last we came for the spicy margaritas and it was as good as we remembered. For the price, totally worth it. Let's say a few was had and a headache to prove it. Service was and has alway been great. All the staffs were amazing and very friendly. Even with all the crowds ordering, they were cracking out the drinks pretty fast. It's a full bar so whatever you need, I'm sure they can make it. The place is beautiful and well laid out. Main restaurant and bar downstairs. Along one side of the place is the bar. You have seating all throughout and then the upstairs. A fun place. A big college hangout but the crowd was great.

Kind of a dark green and gold, Gastropub vibe. However, the taxidermy animals and the wall decor is low-end and kind of cheesy. - I ordered the tacos and they were delicious! I think going there for happy hour is a great idea considering the prices are affordable and the food is really good. I also appreciated the complementary club soda while I waited for my order. My check was delivered in a vintage book which I thought was a creative way to present the check. - The bartender was clearly perturbed that I was there at opening. She started out friendly and then as things went on, she became withdrawn, short and cold. I was celebrating my birthday so, I didn't let it bother me. I do appreciate that the to-go containers are environmentally friendly. Thank you for supporting the environment.

We were helped initially by Austin, who is a very fun and interactive member of the Nightcap team. The drinks were carefully crafted and delivered with friendly banter from Austin. Later, we decided to head over to Granada Bistro on the other side of the hotel to to get a table for dinner. The host let us know all their tables were reserved but if we wanted to wait for about 30 minutes they would work to create some space for us. Meanwhile they offered to continue drink service for us in their waiting area. Next thing I knew we were being whisked back over to Nightcap and Austin was back letting us know that he'd be taking care of us and our dinner orders. He sat us right back in the corner booth we had before we left, even though it was busy at that time. The meals were delicious, the drinks heavenly, and the service prompt and cheeky, just the way we prefer it. Thank you Austin and Grenada for a wonderful evening. We will return.

You honestly can't go wrong with the Mushroom with goat cheese one but if you're feeling a treat, do get the salmon and caviar!! It is so so good, got to try it and definitely will try it again! The service now has disappointment me every now and then. Sometimes they take long to get to your table, sometimes the wait is so long and wait time is inaccurate, etc. but there are times when service is really good. So I don't know! It's one of those things where you don't know what you want but every menu all looks the same. We finally tried it out for dinner after a weekend in the wine country. The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown SLO next to the park and riverwalk. We had an early reservation at 6 on a Saturday and let me say the place was packed. The outside patio was completely full which was nice to see. Checking in was easy with the hostess. All was sweet and made it fast and simply and we were seated right away without having to wait for the whole party to arrive. Menu wise, a bit of everything but they specialized in paella's. And that was had. Our waitress Kaitlin was the sweetest. Right from the start, she was a major doll. Made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole dining experience. Started off with a bottle of red for the table. A good selections from their menu. Then a few small shared plates for the table. An order of the bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts, Peruvian shrimp ceviche and the gambas al ajillo. First off the dates, very tasty with salty and sweet. A good bite size with about 6 piece. Then the ceviche, nice chunks of shrimp with all the trimming. Cucumber, red onions, tomatoes , avocado, cilantro and chips. Then you have the sprouts which is pretty self explanatory. Roasted to a nice crisp with golden raisins and almonds. Pretty decent and delicious. Lastly the gambas, sautéed shrimp in paprika garlic and white wine sauce with a Parmesan slice of sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and a good start to an amazing meal. I do recommend the starters. For our entree, even though we started off with loads of the shared plates. The mains all looked amazing. Clearly we had to have the paella which they're known for. There were couple options in them but we opted for the mix which was a combination of the seafood and meat paella. Let me say it was massive and clearly more than enough for four of us. The nice big chunks of seafood and meat which they did not skimp on. The flavors and the whole combination of everything together, chefs kiss. It was pretty massive as well. Of course we couldn't just stop there, we also had the lamb chops with frites. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. The hanger steak with chimichurri sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and sautéed broccolini. That dish was excellent and steak was cooked perfectly. Lastly, I believe it was one of their specials the sea bass. A nice thick and flaky piece of fish on top of a red sauce of tomatoes, olives. The flavor was excellent and worth it. The food was excellent and it was a surprise when there were leftovers. We may have over done it with the extra entrees after seeing the massive platter of paella. But every dish was excellent and worth it. The service was great with everyone involved. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. The food and wine were great. The whole dining experience was top notch and greatly enjoyed. We will definitely be back. At least we know about the paella now...lol... A must and highly recommend. Too full to even looked at the dessert menu.

After checking out around half a dozen options, we decided on Luna red as the ambiance looked amazing and the menu had options for all the picky eaters in our group. We got seated outdoors and they had sufficient number of patio umbrellas to shelter us from the afternoon sun. The outdoors was really beautiful, they had plenty of greenery and it was like a tropical paradise. We got a lot of appetizers to share, they have options to order 4, 6 or 10 tacos. We got 10 start off with. I personally got a paella as it has been forever since I had it. *brussel sprouts- 4.5/5- one of the better versions of brussel sprouts I have had in a while, they were beautifully roasted, they retained their character but at the same time were delicious instead of tasting too healthy. *fingerling potatoes-4.5/5- potatoes tend to be tasty any which way they are cooked. The standout in this version was the finger licking sauce it was doused in. *paella- 4.5/5- I got the chicken paella. It came with a soft jammy egg. The dish had 75% protein and about 25% rice. The rice at the bottom was nicely crisped up. The chicken was in large chunks but surprisingly non funky and wonderfully flavored. I stole some of the sauce from the tacos to amp up this dish further. 4.5 for the food, rounding up for the good vibes and great ambiance!
