I recently purchased a new but old home that needed a staircase remodel stat! I have always wanted a dramatic staircase in my entry way as it makes such a statement when you walk in and I was deciding between having a wood banister with wrought iron spindles created or a wrought iron panel created (I have an appreciation for iron work!). After calling several contractors and getting no responses, I decided to call Efficient Iron Works and so glad that I did. Paul immediately took my call and we set up an appointment for an estimate. I showed him several photos of wrought iron panels I was interested in and when he came for the estimate and told me the price, I decided to go for it. I picked out a design and paint color for the wrought iron panel and iron banister. The process took about 2 months--Paul is very meticulous. First, he measures everything during the first visit. Then after choosing the design, he goes back to his shop to create a template. He then came back to my house to make sure the template fit correctly and then, he works at his shop to create this beautiful art piece made out of iron. About 6 weeks later, my piece was ready and he came to demo the existing stair railing and banister and then brought the wrought iron panel to be fitted. There were slight adjustments to be made so he brought it back to the shop to make sure everything was perfect and then it was painted. He came back the following week to install and I couldn't be happier. He even painted the leaves on the panel with some gold paint (nothing too audacious but just enough to add some sparkle) and he had a helper with him who cleaned up afterwards. My staircase is really a piece of art and livened up my entire entryway. Photos do not do it justice!! The price (although not the cheapest) is actually super reasonable considering the amount of work that Paul puts into each piece. Plus, it was much more reasonable than other quotes I received (when I finally did hear back from other contractors). Highly recommended! Thank you Paul!!! read more
