They both are amazingly compassionate, intelligent and skilled practitioners and are ridiculously informative about making a plan and getting their patients feeling the best they can. Leanne has been my go-to girl for the majority of the time. She defines what a healer is. She is loaded with love and compassion and truly wants her patients to feel better by the time they leave. I live with severe pain and that can be very difficult not just physically but emotionally. Undoubtedlyif you were trying to choose whether or not to go to them you should know that you are truly safe in their hands. I originally started going there because of their sliding scale program after relocating from California and trying to find an affordable and healing place to manage my migraines and stress. For a while, I believed I had found a compassionate environment. A couple of years ago, I had a very upsetting experience with Julie Shen. During an appointment she asked what I wanted treated and I mentioned stress relief and a "reset" (a term I believed she had previously used). She abruptly became dismissive, denied ever saying that, spoke to me in a rude tone, and ultimately refused to treat me. I left in tears. Despite how hurt I felt, I chose not to leave a negative review because I respected the clinic. Meredith Vorath was aware of this situation and she was actually the one who suggested I switch providers. After that I began seeing Sara, who has been nothing but kind, ethical, professional, and truly passionate about her work. I never had any issues with Sara and always felt respected and cared for as a patient. Recently, while suffering from a severe migraine, I scheduled the first available appointment simply because I was in pain. To be completely honest, I had forgotten about the incident from two years ago and was just trying to get relief. Instead of care, I received a message that Julie would not treat me, followed by an email stating my patient rights had been revoked entirely. What hurt the most was the threatening tone stating that authorities would be called if I showed up. This was extremely distressing considering I had done nothing wrong except try to seek treatment for migraine pain. I immediately tried to reach Meredith to understand what I had supposedly done. I left two voicemails and sent multiple emails asking for a simple explanation. I never received a response. Being ignored like I never existed after being a patient there was incredibly painful. What makes this situation even more confusing is that Julie and I had previously been on friendly terms and had even shared meals outside of the clinic. The sudden escalation without communication feels unfair and unnecessary. I truly believed this was a compassionate healing space. I especially believed Meredith was a fair and understanding leader based on past interactions. Being disregarded without even a conversation changed my entire impression. Patients deserve communication, fairness, and compassion -- especially when they are simply seeking help for pain. I hope management reflects on how situations like this are handled so no other patient experiences this kind of emotional distress.

These acupuncture doctors are very honest, caring, friendly, have a great sense of humor, and do a superb job despite what other people's disbelief are about the whole stereotypical Chinese. They provide other services other than acupuncture so call in or walk in and ask them questions. The place and decor is very oriental, kept very clean, and they serve hot green tea or just fountain water. The needles feel like short pricks and nothing more or less. Balance Point initially quoted me one rate, but they ended up billing my insurance at a higher rate. That not only increased the total charge to my insurance but also raised my 5% share. While the amount I paid per session wasn't huge, it added up--and more importantly, they were knowingly overbilling my insurance and collecting more from me than they should have. Maybe they assumed I wouldn't look into the claims details on my insurance provider's website--but I did. After reviewing months of charges, it was clear they'd been overcharging me the entire time. When I called them to ask what was going on, the doctor refunded everything I'd paid out-of-pocket, going all the way back to my first visit. It felt more like a move to avoid a bad review than a genuine apology. But here I am anyway. To be clear--acupuncture itself is fantastic. The treatment helped me. But what's not okay is the dishonesty. There's no way they didn't know they were overcharging me.
