Could not emphasize enough that NO ONE should utilize this company. Ranging from disorganized to downright unprofessional, it was an absolutely horrible experience. Our case could not have been easier being that we basically settled all terms and just needed them to write up the documents and submit to the court. I would have done everything myself but my ex was so elusive and I needed a third party to chase him down and make him accountable.
Every single meeting we had with Lori and Rhonda began with "I don't have your file in front of me", and so we ended up repeating terms and conversations several times (of course on our dime). Documents had numerous typos, including our last name, several times throughout the disclosures. I had to send mine back to them three times to be revised with corrections of simple typos and assigning assets to the incorrect party.
During one meeting, my ex was asking to have some of the kitchen utensils so I countered that I would like to have some tools in the garage (of which I had purchased thousands of dollars of), and Lori said verbatim "Kim, I'm sure he is going to use the tools more". I went slack jawed. I was so scared throughout my divorce proceedings to say anything that would stall the process so I kept quiet about everything. The day I went in to sign final documents, Rhonda asked me "out of curiosity, why were you refusing to see him?" (we met separately for most of the meetings). She added "Was it because you felt as though he was stalking you?" Again, I had no response because that was the most ridiculous question. I had shared with them some of my fears, including getting 3 flat tires due to someone putting nails in them; had to deal with him coming around the house and snooping through everything without actually packing his belongings, him acting strangely. His rapid shift in presentation and behaviors was scary and alarming, so yeah...I never wanted to see him again.
My experience with them is that they were unprepared, unprofessional, unsupportive. The final straw is that I made it abundantly clear that I wanted to change my name. I was just sent home from the social security office because this company did not provide me with a certified copy of my divorce decree. I sure did pay for a lot of things with this company, but when I called Lori she said they don't just provide that copy "because it costs more". It tracks with the rest of our experience that this was not communicated to me, but I find it beyond ridiculous that they did not inform me that the copy of divorce they emailed me (and charged for) would not suit any of my legal needs moving forward. All she had to say was "sorry I didn't tell you this". This company is embarrassing...save yourself unnecessary added agony to the process and keep searching for a different company. Absolutely appalling.
EDITED TO ADD:
Lori, Whereas your response does not surprise me, it is unfortunate that so many people these days lack accountability and engage in gaslighting. The quotes I listed above are in fact verbatim. Simply because you don't recollect or didn't write these offhand comments in your notes does not negate the fact that they were said. I should think it would be obvious that with those types of comments, I did not feel you were trustworthy to share that I was not happy with the services we received. I'll leave it at that...and hope that no one else experiences the same unprofessional mishandling of their case. If I wanted to continue to engage with lying and gaslighting, I would have stayed married. read more
