When you make the reservation (and you really should make a reservation), you choose where you want to dine. The menu also differs, depending on where you sit. On the ground floor, that's the restaurant. I've dined there the most. I love trying their cocktails and their bitterballen aren't that bad. You almost can't go wrong with the dish that you choose; they also change and rotate so it might already be a different menu. I sat upstairs once. It was a small plates sharing menu with more cocktails to try! In other words, it was a more extensive cocktail menu. Every time I've been the food and the cocktails have been excellent. They also have beer in case you just want to do that. The decor is fun and quirky with an Indiana Jones/Jungle Cruise flavor. I would highly recommend getting a reservation if you're in Groningen.

Great place to spend the evening…read more Lindeboom Pilsner, Gouverneur (Blonde, Triple, Dubble) and La Trappe from tab + a wide selection of standard and special beers from the bottle will make everyone happy. But be careful - many of the special beer have 8% or more ... Had a "Jopen Thomas en Kenau" (10%!) which was amazing. Not sure about the next beer? Ask Jeroen for a recommendation and a sip ;-) Did not try the food yet, but the menu reads interesting and looked great on the plates of other guests and is on my list for the next visit!

Ok so I was in Holland and don't speak a lick of Dutch and this restaurants menu is all Dutch…read more Thankfully just about everyone in Holland speaks English and I was with a colleague who also spoke Dutch but if you don't, the servers were extremely helpful and friendly. This is a gastro-pub style restaurant in the heart of a busy college town. They have many beers on tap including a full bar. We started with a salmon "stacked" appetizer which was smoked salmon with very thin crisp crackers in between and some shaved cheese - it was very light and delicious. I then chose a sea bass cooked in a salt shell which came out moist and delicious. The server filleted it for me and it came with some vegetables on the side. A delicious light meal which was perfect after a long day of international flying.
