I took my golf mk6 on thursday 20th july as requested for the emissions update, left the car in for roughly 2 hours. When I went back apparently the service was not carried out. I asked for paperwork or proof that it was not done before I left, but was not allowed any. Since friday the 21st what a "coincidence" that my car exhaust is blowing out white smoke and going into limp mode if I go over 60mph, it suddenly decelerates down to 20mph when I am driving to work via motoryway which could cause collision. The vehicle is also consuming more fuel than usual. When I get out of my car it has a burnt kind of smell.
Having had the car 2 years I have never had any problems with the car, now there are 2 lights on the dashboard
- emissions control lamp
- glo plug engine management lamp
I have since went back to edwin may on monday 31st july as my car seems no longer road worthy. The man at edwin may was very ignorant and did not want to deal with us. You do not want to accept responsibility or offer any gesture of good will. I have since raised a complaint with VW regarding this situation.
Edwin May claim trust building measures yet break customers trust and will continue to do so.
If the problem is not resolved I will be taking this further and save all evidence for legal proceedings. I will be raising it with trading standards, local news articles, bbc watchdog and contacting solicitor. read more
