This is a very unique park offering panoramic views of the city, a massive manicured lawn, and the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens.
The north side of the park has an expansive sloped lawn that is kept lush and tidy. It's great for resting and lying in the sun, but doesn't serve as well for sports and games since it's on a pretty steep incline.
Moving south across the parking area, you'll find access to the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens, which are a real hidden gem. The gardens are well-tended, secluded, and wonderfully arranged. The downside is that the gardens are gated and kept on a separate schedule. The schedule isn't great in the best of times (IMO) and during Covid it's been completely shut down.
Running alongside the gardens is the "Tiger Trail" which is basically a set of rough-hewn stone steps leading up to the overlook on W. Cliff Drive. Great views up here and it is a popular place for folks to park, stroll, or lounge briefly and take in the views. The surrounding neighborhood is also a sight to behold and worthy of a walking tour in its own right. read more
