My dog started experiencing elbow dysplasia. I hired a mobility vet to assist. Mobility vet requested that I take her to her regular vet for X-rays to confirm it wasn't the ugly c word, so I brought her to Dr. Edwards Vet Clinic on 02/14/2025. I was the last appointment that day and apparently staff didn't feel like being there. They did not sedate my dog, nor did they even offer. I had no idea what they had to do to her to get the X-rays done and trusted they knew what they were doing. The vet tech fought her and tore in psoas muscle. This is the muscle that connects the hind leg to the body. At the time, I could hear my baby girl screaming bloody murder. I came out to ask WTF were they doing to my dog. The Hispanic tech was sitting behind the front desk, rolled her eyes and said, "husky drama!" I said NO F*** NO THAT'S NOT HUSKY DRAMA! MY DOG DOESN'T EVEN TALK WTF ARE THEY DOING TO HER!? The vet that was on that day, very short butch haircut, went to the back to see what was going on. My girl cried for what seemed an eternity, maybe 15-20 minutes. When the back up vet finally came back, she tried telling me it was her back as that was when she started screaming when they laid her on her back. I said NO, there is nothing wrong with her back! From that day forward, my girl stopped being able to climb the stairs to go to our bedroom. We started camping out in our living room. She saw her mobility vet days later who told me, not climbing stairs is a hind leg issue and after examining her she confirmed that they tore her psoas muscle. I waited a week to cool off before contacting Dr. Edwards. Her only response to me was "Gosh I'm sure sorry! It happens!" I asked why they didn't sedate her? She said that they didn't like to do that because of the cost. I told her, but you didn't even give me the option! I don't care what it costs! That's my baby!!! She didn't offer anything more than "I'm sure sorry!" I also wanted to note, that back up vet with the short butch haircut lied to our mobility vet and told her she was there the entire time! SHE SURE THE HECK WAS NOT! She obviously was trying to back up her tech! two weeks later because my dog was already hurting in the elbows and left hind leg because of what they did to her, she was putting all her weight on the right hind leg and she tore her right ACL... full tear that required TPLO surgery! It has been a long healing journey for my baby! She has fully healed from the TPLO surgery but remains painful because of the psoas muscle that they tore. From what I have researched it can take 9 months to heal. We continued to camp out in our living room to sleep, and she has only very recently been able to climb back up the stairs a few days ago. Today is 07/21/2025 and we are still dealing with the consequences of their negligence! My baby cannot even walk right anymore; she is still very painful! It breaks my heart to watch her! I continue to work with the mobility vet to get her rehabilitated. She is doing shockwave, laser, acupuncture... all the things.
Dr. Edwards, I want you to know that I fully wanted to sue you over this! Unfortunately, for me, dogs are considered property, and I would not be able to collect for the pain, suffering and attorney's fees! Even with insurance the cost has been astronomical, and I do not have the extra to pay an attorney! I want you to know that you are so lucky that I have good insurance for her, or I would be suing you! I am going to let the insurance company know all that has transpired to see if they want to have their attorneys investigate this matter.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING MONEY! You and your beloved pet can end up paying dearly for it! read more
