Another professor for same class was overheard stating in front of students, that a cohort not professional. Back at you! I find them to be highly disorganized and dismissive of students. Overpriced for sure. The quality doesn't equal the pricetag. Seem to have no concept that their students are their customers. I am giving it 3 stars instead of two because there are some really good professors, but overall my experience so far has been less that pleasant.

As a student I have access to the studio during business hours (as long as it doesn't interfere with another active class) and the course is very open study. You ask- he shows you or does a presentation about it. Today I threw my largest pieces to date, I was pretty excited about that! With decades of experience, a very laid back demeanor and plenty of work space- the course and studio is great. Today was my first time taking advantage of going in outside of class time- I easily checked in at the Admin office and they walked me over to the classroom to unlock it for me. I need to take advantage of this more and I am seriously thinking about enrolling in additional classes. I laugh that the studio is messier than my taste- but with so many students (they have had the highest enrollment in Ceramics to date I believe), things don't always get cleaned up properly. I may have spent a little time cleaning this morning before I started my pottery work. I am so excited that we will be learning Raku firing method too!!! I hope to learn how to make a lidded pot and really get better at my forms. Cost for the course does not include clay, they have limited supplies of reclaimed clay, and you are encouraged to bring your own tools if you have them.

FCCJ consists of several different campuses, with concentrations at each one. The south campus focuses mainly on the Arts. Therefore, this is also the campus most known for its performances and gallery exhibits. FCCJ was undergoing a lot of changes with its Digital Multimedia program when I took it. It was the first year there was an entire course in flash, and the first year there was a course focusing solely on HTML. That was 2-3 years ago. Flash had already been around since 1996 or so. Do the math. Hahaha. Took them long enough. But then again, it is a community college. Still, there are many good points to this little college. They have a kick ass photo lab (which I hear is way better than the one at University of North Florida a short drive away), several computer labs (I hear they are one of the most wired community colleges in Florida), and even a Mac lab (and they were planning to add another one after I left). In addition to the regular on-campus classes, they offer really convenient TV and online classes for single parents, busy bees, workaholics, and car-less folks who want to continue their education. As for professors? Most of them were willing to help students if they needed help or had questions. Even if much of the work was self-taught from the book, classes often consisted of reviewing of the materials from the book. I had originally doubted community colleges, but they do a pretty good job here. I have also heard that they are in the process of trying to become a 4 year institution. Pretty interesting because some of the teachers that teach here also teach at the university.

From the very beginning, I have felt seen, supported, and truly cared for, not just as a student, but as a person with goals and dreams. The faculty and staff didn't just teach me, they believed in me. They pushed me, guided me, and helped shape me into the nurse I am today. Because of their support, I was able to step into my career with confidence and secure a position at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the United States, something I will never take for granted. What means even more to me is that their support didn't end at graduation. They have continued to reach out, offer mentorship, and remind me that I will always have a place to come back to. That kind of genuine care is rare, and it speaks volumes about what Keiser University stands for. Being invited to the Florida State Capitol was an experience I will never forget. Meeting the campus presidents and the Keiser family showed me, in the most powerful way, that this university is truly about its students. Seeing them spend their time advocating for legislation that benefits students, not themselves, was incredibly moving. It made me feel proud to be part of something bigger than myself. The Keiser family doesn't measure success by recognition, but by the success of their students and the impact we make in the world, and that is something truly special. Keiser University - NOT SO MILITARY FRIENDLY as they seem…read more Keiser University markets itself as a "military friendly" school; however, there are zero protections for active duty, National Guard, and reservists when it comes to Keiser's attendance policy. In the past, KU supported military mission requirements with LOA and Excused Absences for Military Services - in the current student handbook, KU no longer helps military students complete their educational endeavors with these protections. If you are a part of the military, be reserves, National Guard, or active duty, I suggest looking into other schools such as FSU that accommodate unexpected training/drill, deployment, or change-of-station orders. I would love to see Keiser University adopt its previous accommodations (as advertised in 2016). It is unfortunate that students called to service are receiving unexcused absences, have no opportunities for class extensions, and are being forced out of programs due to KU's lack of military protections.

Being quiet is a rule of thumb for visitors to the library but is expected of the library's employees. Unfortunately this library isn't a good spot to study at though as there are two employees there who shamelessly flirt with each other just about every day. They laugh and bellow so loud that you can't focus on what you're doing even with earphones on. I'm glad they like each other and they have some kind of thing going on. Everyone who spends more than 20 min in the library when they're both working at the front desk knows of them. The issue lies in the common courtesy they don't extend to those who need to use their facilities to study/get things done. If it weren't for the constant chortling and loud laughter from the pair, this would be a great study space.

(Even the regular old cafeteria food here was superb!) This is a very important thing for us who are not blessed with health insurance, especially in these ridiculous economic times. The only draw back is that these services are only available for very limited hours (only on weekdays when most of us are working). I went here for the radiography program, and my teachers were excellent. The program director was extremely helpful and personable and answered any questions I had about the program or the career.

The education was very valuable, the professors became mentors and friends and I was never a number, I was always an individual. I was accepted into 4 law schools out of the 8 I applied to. I chose Florida Coastal because they allowed me to sit in on a first year Torts class during my visit and I loved how students were excited to learn and the professors were hard on them but at the same time helpful and pushed them to be their best.
