Educe, Educe I had split ends. No breakage or damage. My last hair appointment before Valerie was 4 months prior, not years, MONTHS. My hair grows slowly so I don't have to come in so often. Follow up appointment with valerie was scheduled for 10 weeks. This is the first time I have ever had severe breakage started after I saw Valerie. If my hair was damaged, had severe breakage and was unhealthy as you said (I only said split ends) why would an "experienced" hair dresser recommend and do a color correction instead of getting my already healthy hair into better condition first? The damage to my scalp NEVER existed and still doesn't. As posted, i said damage to my hair. I did ask valerie if she was sure it wouldn' damage my hair she said it would not. I came in with split ends and I was NOT in tears because my hair was NOT damaged when i came in! I just wanted the brown out. Codor correction is a comoon procedure. I told Valerie I understood if she had to cut off a couple inches. 5 inches is quit a bit more than a couple. We NEVER discussed my budget. I did tell valerie i didn't mind paying more for good results and she said she was the same way. She said it would take a couple hours for color correction (take brown out which is still in the back). You saw it in my hair and in the pictures. We NEVER discussed partial vs full. This is the first time I've ever heard of a half head correction and who would even want half of (instead of all of) their hair done? Valerie showed me my hair in the mirror when she was finished I said I was glad there was no more brown. Again, I did NOT cry afterwards or before. Of course I tipped good. I always do for anyone in the service industry. There are 2 things that are definitely my fault. 1. Trusting valerie and 2. Not messing up the style and looking underneath in the back closer to the roots, which I have never seen any hair client do in any salon. I didn't come back sooner because my Aunt died so I had to cancel. Also, I didn't and never have looked closer to the roots on the back of my head because my previous hair dresser knew what she was doing. I don't see your photos. Are they my photos from my phone that you took pictures of? If you remember when you came out to talk to me, I suggested we talk somewhere private other than the front lobby so we went outside where you fingered through my hair and saw the damage and pictures. One thing you are correct about is that i came in for a full refund because valerie ruined my hair. You have the slandering good name and reputation backwards. It is you who is being untruthful. Please post the before pictures of my brown waist long hair and so called damage. I have posted after pictures of shorter uneven cut and failed color correction. Maybe you should write fiction books, you are such a good storyteller. I am sure that any salon would have done a better job. Thank you for posting after pictures that show uneven cut. Look at length on both shoulders showing about 2 inch difference between right and left shoulder. Bangs are choppy and crooked and do not blend with hair. Before appointment my hair was thick to the ends, in your picture my shirt shows through my hair where hair was overprocessed. Valerie must have had a sink full of my hair after she washed chemicals out. read more

Best blonde balayage ever!!!!!! Clarissa did such an amazing job on my hair. I will definitely be returning to Educe for all my haircut and highlighting needs! I have been to many different stylists for balayage all over Florida and she is by far the best. Not only is she amazing at her job but she is also extremely sweet and really listens to exactly what you want for your hair. read more

Drove 3 hours to go to this salon because I was recommended by a friend in the salon business and said they were great. I originally wanted to see Tara because I was referred to her and had seen her instagram and she does great work. Tara was booked months in advance, understandably. (Update: Tara is no longer there)They asked if it was ok to see someone else. Since I wasn't trying to wait that long to get my hair colored, I agreed to. I went twice. Saw the same colorist, I showed pictures of exactly what I wanted, and while I understand it takes time and multiple sessions to go drastically lighter, I felt that my request of a face frame + balayage wasn't out of reason. I left with barely there highlights both time to the point where I didn't even notice a difference in natural light the second time around. I don't feel that my results were worth the money I paid both times. *update* - in response to Alicia - No, I obviously haven't been back in approximately 2 years and the only reason why I even remembered to do this review was because I just got an email from the salon stating that I'm due to come in. My hair is not black, and it's always been a medium brown. I was never asked to sign a waiver nor did I sign one. I know that lightening goes in stages, anyone who regularly maintains or dyes their hair is aware of this, but the bottom line is, I didn't get nearly what I expected even with realistic expectations and as a customer, I didn't feel that I was listened to from my colorist. I don't write reviews for no reason and there's no reason to accuse me of not having an "authentic" review. This just further confirms my decision to not return. read more

LOVED my experience! I came in for a Brazilian Blowout with Dawn. I have had ~9 in the past and this was by far my best. I have been to three different salons in the Orlando area and really did my research before booking. Dawn and her associate Jessica were so amazing! Jessica did a wonderful job upfront asking what lead me to book and asking what at home treatments I was using. She made me feel so comfortable. Dawn and Jessica were a great team. I have very curly roots and they were so thorough throughout the entire treatment. They both were so friendly. I'm obsessed with my results and have already booked my next appointment with Dawn. read more

Cool & upbeat salon. Very talented stylists & colorist. I've been faithfully going to Miranda for years. Miranda knows her craft and is extremely talented with both color & styling. The salon has a simple chic urban twist kind of vibe. Music is always upbeat & fun. Staff is friendly and eager to make you feel welcomed. So if your in need of a balayage or any fun color & cut. John is an absolute miracle worker! I went in with extremely specific needs and he was able to give me the cut and style that I have been looking for exactly. He showed me the products and technique I needed to use to do it on my own so that I could continue to look great on my own and I just couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a great and truly talented stylist! read more

I went there today for the first time, they were able to accept me as walk-in, receptionist said I had to wait 20 minutes and ended up waiting 45! Didn't say anything.. no big deal. They quoted me at $65 for root touchup, the stylist was nice although she did ask other people to help her during the process which I let go by, again No big deal. At the end I was checking out and my total came to over $100 which surprised me! I asked why and they said blow drying is $40 which no one mentioned to me when I checked in! I'm a person who is not cheap when it comes to my skin and hair.. I usually pick the best places and the right products for me (I even bought a Kerastase shampoo from them) which they told me will be %25 off and never got that. I liked the service but I did not appreciate being misled like that. If they were honest about it from the beginning then I would have never had an issue but this is really not nice to treat clients like that.. the $65 should be more than enough for roots and blow dry, what did I pay for? Just a bowl of color and application. read more

I went to Educe on a whim the day before my birthday. It was a Saturday and I gave up trying to book online because it's confusing. I called and left a message hoping for a miracle and John called me back to say he was able to get me an appointment for 4:00. Around 3:45 he called to say my stylist was running behind and asked me to come in at 4:15 because he didn't want me 'having to wait around'. I thought it was very courteous that they called to let me know. I got confused when I arrived because the receptionist desk is set far back from the door but then I figured it out haha. Lizzy was my stylist and she was great! Turns out she opted to stay late to do my hair when everyone else said they wanted to go home. It was nice that she was willing to do that. She came off as sort of aloof at first but I learned later that this is just her personality. She asked what I wanted and I never really know so I gave her a vague idea and let her run with it. I loved the cut she gave me, at least so far with the blowout she did. I anticipate it will look great once I wash and style it myself. She didn't make me feel bad about having used box color to do my roots the last few months and even gave me a suggestion of how to protect my hair if I have to keep using it. I thought it was great she didn't try to shame me or try to sell me conditioning treatments or something. She even complimented my color lol! Overall I was pleased with the service, cut, style, and price. I'll be making an appointment next time for sure. read more

Being Asian, I have always found it very difficult to find a good stylist. Someone that TRULY understands how Asian hair is (if you are Asian, you know what I am talking about). A friend of mine had recommended Dawn Paulk at Educe Salon in Orlando. Educe Salon makes it possible to book your appointment online and you can see pictures of hair colors and styles each stylist had done. The day came, and I headed into the shop. The front staff was very friendly, and they told me to have a seat and Dawn would be with me shortly. About 5 mins later, Dawn came over and introduced herself to me. I sat down, and we talked about what I wanted and any concerns I had. I've never felt so comfortable with a stylist after just meeting them. And in the end, my hair turned out SO GORGEOUS!! More than I could even had hoped for! When I see her now, I just say, "what do you think we should do" and I've never been disappointed with what decision she comes up with. I would have to say, hands down, Dawn Paulk is one of the most gifted stylists I've ever met. And as there are MANY types of blondes I knew I would have to deal with a butter blonde before we could even think about cool tones. I will definitely be back to my Idol and Hair Goddess; Kat Chase. Okay, so Chelsea Milligan is my hair stylist, and let me just say, SHE IS AMAZING. She takes such good care of me!!! So the first time I went to see Chelsea, I had been dying my hair red with box color (gross I know) for 2 years straight!! My hair was dry and fried! So I went to see Chelsea and we both decided it would be best to chop all the dead hair off! So after we cut it, I went ahead and decided on a dark brown color with some blond peeking through!! My hair grew faster and was overall much healthier! The next time I visited Chelsea, I had decided to go with a crazier color and we decided on blues, purples, and teals! She dyed my roots a dark purple and then faded the color out into the teals, blues, and purples! It looked SO GOOD and I have never received so many compliments on my hair!!! It blended so well!!! I got my hair done Feb 2nd and the color has last all the way until May 27th with vibrancy!! TODAY, May 27th, I went to see Chelsea again to get a corrective color done. So basically, she colored my faded strands with purples, blues, and teals and dyed my roots again with the dark purple and DAMN. MY HAIR IS MORE VIBRANT THAN THE FIRST GO AROUND. It looks soooo soooooo good and as I was walking to the restaurant down the street, I was already getting compliments from passerbys!! My hair looks so damn good and I want it to look like this forever!!!! Chelsea is amazing. Any negative comments about her are whack. I've seen the care she puts into her clients and their hair! read more

Since my old stylist moved, I have been salon hopping through downtown and the Mills50 area, along with dying my hair myself a time or two. The last time I dyed it myself, a train wreck occurred with my roots completely a different color, bands of additional colors... Just really bad. I was able to score a last minute appointment with Lizzy who also is a pro at color correction. She evaluated my hair and developed a plan to correct the color with my input. I just finished session 2 which included a balayage of red highlights to develop a more natural ombré while adding dimension to my naturally dark hair. I have definitely found my new stylist! Lizzy is truly an artist who focuses on perfecting her craft when working on a client. She is a bit quieter then some stylists, but has a hysterical dry sense of humor that I enjoy. Thank you to Lizzy and Educe for my amazing hair... The compliments have already started! read more

First time client at Educe Salon today, and Morgan was my stylist. I cannot put into words just how thankful I am for not only the incredible style tips, and haircut, but also the delightful conversation throughout my appointment. Morgan went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable throughout the haircut itself, but also gave me low maintenance style tips that I can easily do at home! I could go on and on....this sometimes tired mom also got some delicious coffee to sip on while getting pampered, which always goes a long way, too! Thank you, Morgan. :) I missed my former CA salon a little less after meeting you. read more

I came into the salon twice. The first time I came in for a balayage I did not get the results I desired - it looked nothing like the picture I brought in, my hair was brassy, there was no toner used, not to mention I payed $280. I contacted the stylist and told her my disappointment and she had me come in to put more lightener in my hair. I toned it myself at home using a vegan ammonia free toner and it was much closer to the results I wanted. Fast forward 4 months later, after letting my hair grow I decided I wanted more of a highlighted look. I went with a different stylist this time which I had heard great things about. She said I needed babylights (which seemed more like heavy highlights once we got started) which costs $315 with a trim. I had high hopes this time, my hair was already quite blonde at the ends but alas the same results- no where near the picture, brassy and yellow and way over priced. I was livid to the point of crying and just payed and left. I called the manager the next day to see what we could do and she had the nerve to tell me i needed to come back in for highlights for $130 to receive the look I was trying to achieve. I simply told her I would NEVER be setting foot in her salon again and that I have been blonde almost all my life and have NEVER had such bad results especially for that price, not to mention leaving without toning, YOU ALWAYS TONE BLONDE HAIR. Thankfully I had someone tone the brassy out and I have found a great stylist. I don't know if it's their products at Educe or their staff, but I DO NOT recommend them in any way. It's overpriced and I've never had such bad results. *in response to the below comment I would be happy to post the pictures myself. I'm the one on the double shot photo, the other is what I was going for. There is no gradation, face framing, no ashy tone, it looks yellow. It just looks like very heavy highlights with no toner and now I have to let my hair grow out and get highlights to frame my face so I won't have a line on my part. After calling to complain the manager said I could come in for a toner but it would make my hair darker, or I could pay another $130 for highlights. I've worked in a salon before so I know about hair. I know about hair lift levels, but that has nothing to do with toning. My hair is lifted, but not toned to an ashy blonde. Not all toners for blondes make your hair darker. To pay $315 and have to tone your hair yourself is ridiculous read more

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and was attentive. As soon as you check in at the desk they ask if you would like anything to drink as you wait. The atmosphere of the salon was nice and spacious and not tight like some other salons. I've been to many different salons and never found the right one. I booked an appointment with Yanni for balayage highlights and a haircut. Before we started, she basically did a consultation asking what I wanted to do with my hair, what color I wanted to do, how I want my haircut, etc. After showing her pictures and telling her what I was looking for, she explained to me the process and gave some suggestions as well. Yanni is amazing! She's easy to talk to so you aren't just awkwardly sitting there in the chair silent. She explains the things she does while she is doing it and gives you advice on how to take care of it and showed me how to style my hair too. I have to admit that the prices are a little higher than some but it is worth it! I'm so happy with my hair and this will definitely be my go to salon from now on. read more

How could I sum this place in one word?! Its impossible cause this place is freaking fabulous! ITS EVERYTHING! From the staff at the front desk to even the other hairstylists who aren't even working on you! I was born and raised here in Orlando and I've never step foot into this salon. I have no idea what led me to choose this location, (its probably cause I'm within walking distance lol) but everything really does happen for a reason! I booked my consultation online with Megan on a Thursday. I came in at 4pm and was greeted by the front desk staff. They were very sweet and offered me something to drink. Megan came out to get me within about 5 minutes! I never had a long wait here (other than the actual process of getting my hair cut and colored but that's given.) I told her what I was going for but I really didn't know EXACTLY what I wanted but somehow, she got it. She knew what was fit for my hair and my skin tone. I asked her for her availability and sure enough, she was available the very next day! Fast forward to Friday, I booked the earliest time which was 10am. I came in and once again, was greeted by happy cheesing faces! Great vibe to feel first thing in the morning! Again, I was offered something to drink and to have a seat and my girl Megan came out in two minutes! We got straight to the point. She described everything that she was doing and what that was going to do to my hair! I had many questions and she answered them right away! No hesitations, she knew what she was doing and what she was talking about! I got a subtle balayage with a cut and oh my lord... WHY DIDNT I KNOW SOONER?! I fell in love before she even got to blow dry and style it!! Everyone passing by was complimenting the work and it just felt wonderful. You guys have an awesome staff and awesome business going on! Keep up the amazing job with everything! EDUCE SALON definitely won my heart and is the only place I'll trust with my hair now! If I could give you guys 10 stars, I would!! Thanks Megan! When I first walked in, I was welcomed immediately by the front desk ladies. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. Everyone their has their own swag, and you can't help but admire their hair from afar. Yanni, and her apprentice Khristina helped me through a referral from a family member. I like that they worked fast and I wasn't there for too long. I was looking for years for someone to color my hair but I was hesitant because I have pitch black hair, but when I saw Yanni's work on Instagram I knew I can trust her with my locks. She was able to lighten my hair to where I wanted it to be and it was very toned and not brassy. The prices are very reasonable but not cheap. I say, invest in yourself and go here! I love Yanni and Khristina, they are very kind and personal ladies (insert heart) p.s I got a very settle and natural bayalage, I definitely will be back. read more

Love this place, as I stated in my previous review. I'm loyal to my one and only, Kat Chase who continues to knock it out of the park. Extremely friendly, sweet and talented she's a balayage master and knows just what to do each time. I love when stylists listen to their clients and she nails it each time. The atmosphere is always great vibes, good tea, coffee or wine...hey it's noon somewhere right? Either way, I feel like a new woman with a completely different attitude each time I leave. Be Aware. We had an appointment and were travelling from Lakeland. Due I-4 congestion traffic we were 20 minutes from the salon when we called to inform them that we were going to be about 10 minutes late. The salon (Chelsea) cancelled our appointment after we were over 1 1/2 hours on the road on the way to the salon. We had to turn around back to Lakeland. It's good to know that these are good times for the salon business. We wish them continued success. Please be aware that there is zero flexibility to accommodate customers. The atmosphere, the staff...fantastic. Dawn is a rockstar. She saved me from 1000 shades of all the wrong toned blonde from a bad experience at another salon. When I came thisclose to just shaving my head after 4 previous attempts from others to get my hair right, she stepped in and knew what to do. Guys, I basically had virgin dirty blonde hair before it was turned orange and gold at another salon. I went to another place after and even they couldn't get it quite right. It was better, but still the wrong colors. I'm the easiest canvas and the canvas was dyed all kinds of crazy. I hadn't been through anything like it. Everyone at Educe does great work from what I can tell, but Dawn was just amazing. She studies your hair and evaluates what's best for you, not what looks good in a picture. Stylist did not listen to me when I said as a new mom I mostly keel my hair back in a poneytail and have no time to style my hair. I get that shag is really in right now and I think that's what she did to half of my head, but it made for a frizzy mess. She blow dried my hair before the cut, which I think hid the flaws of this cut. My hair does really well with bangs and helps me look a little more put together, but these bangs were cut without any clear demarcation. It is impossible to separate bangs from not bangs, which leads to constant linger wisps in face and the worst being scalp pain because the hairs are going in different directions (like one hair going to bang, the next two going towards back, the next one going to band and so on). It is like someone is constantly pulling a single hair over and over again or that feeling when you just take out a tight poneytail after wearing it all day. But, I can get no relief from the pain, which either the pain is turning into a headache or the stress of it all is giving me a headache. I have no time to myself to schlep all the way back to the salon and they will only fix it with the owner who has limited time during the day, when I cannot make it due to nap/feeding schedule of babe. Options are pretty grim right now for getting relief. Thinking I may do the dreaded and attempt to cut the longer pieces myself so at least I can get some pain relief. The worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Update: The physical pain was expressed and explained on initial call and when then with follow up calls with manager. Each call this was expressed, because this is what was the worst part of the haircut. The salon's follow up post below is to make themselves look good and is really disheartening that they would misrepresent the facts. Regarding a pair of broken jeans or other product, I would be able to return the said product at a time that worked into my schedule. I was only given the options to come when it would be impossible (baby schedules - face palm‍). I offered to come in last night, but was told by Lisa there was no one that could fix it. Also, the salon says it would be a quick visit of 15 min. They are not taking in consideration the hour of driving nor the complexity of trying to make it work with a baby. While I did receive a refund or was told I would receive a refund, I actually never received an apology. Then the misrepresentation of facts and non analogous example used in salon's response to my review is further disrespectful. I did end up taking scissors to my own hair to get relief from the constant nagging pain. I succeeded in fixing the pain and giving myself a pretty gnarly haircut. Maybe the run in with a lawnmower look will catch on. I'll just be keeping away from mirrors for a bit lol read more

Morgan was my stylist and she literally achieved the hair of my dreams!! I went to her for balayage and a haircut and she literally gave me the exact hair color I have been working on achieving. Don't go to this salon if you want someone to cancel on you once, then cancel on you for your rescheduled appt 45 minutes before!! So incredibly unprofessional and the people there literally don't care that other people's schedules are involved. Be warned about this place. Literally on the low tier of salons in Orlando **in response to the owner, telling me 45 minutes before my appointment (when I live 45 minutes away) is NOT okay. Educe is doing a great job following the guidelines to keep clients and employees safe! I felt totally comfortable with how careful they were with sanitizing and everybody staying distant and wearing masks, yet still being very welcoming and friendly. Enough of that- my real shout out goes to the owners daughter, Jaden Rosado, who colored my hair today, she did a great job and was as confident as her dad who has been cutting my hair for 25 years! A true natural! She even took me outside to blow dry my hair! read more

I had an amazing experience from start to finish! I went in a couple days ago to get highlights and balayage. Bre was my stylist and she KILLED IT! She did exactly wanted and MORE! I've never seen my hair look so light but natural looking at the same time. Thank you so much!! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. read more

Educe Salon - Hair Stylists Near Me - Orlando, Florida

I'm not unhappy with my hair but I could be happier. Mostly, it was the salon experience that left more to be desired. As this place is really pricey (money that I don't mind paying for good hair and a nice salon) you would expect to be getting your money's worth not only in the hair you leave with but in your time spent at the salon. Which for me was a solid 4 hours of noise and chaos. The employees are a bit unprofessional. The girl who was doing my hair was constantly interrupted to do other things or to talk to her friends as they walked by her station. Sometimes I'd be mid-sentence talking to her and she would interrupt me to talk to someone else. It is very clear that the stylists are more concerned with having social hour with each other (very loudly mind you) rather than creating a good environment for their clients who are paying generously to get their hair done there. Another thing that bothered me was that I was paying extra to have a master stylist do my hair yet all she did was the cut and the painting. She had someone else do the toner/glaze and then another person doing the blow out. Obviously I understand her job was most important but toner is a big deal too and I could hear her explaining everything out to the girl who she had do the toner on me as if it was her first time which totally made me uneasy. Then the girl who did my wash and blow dry had these terribly long pointy fake finger nails and she stabbed me about a million times during the wash and dry. Like why would they allow someone who is so up close and personal with a client's head/face wear their nails like that? Super impractical. Then after I had already been there all day and clearly was ready to go, I was held up because the girl who blew out my hair had to take about a trillion pictures. I'm definitely cool with having a few pictures taken but it was honestly excessive. She had me turning and angling for what felt like forever for a picture that was never even posted by the salon or the stylist. Overall my stylist did a good job on my hair. It wasn't 100% what I wanted but I'm content with it. It was the salon experience that left me less than impressed. If you're going to shell out hundreds of dollars, I would recommend doing it at a place where you won't totally hate your life for the 4 hours you spend there. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY I went To @danii_does_hair I spent 4 1/2 hours for highlights and a root touch up my hair was all 1 color and I provided a reference pic of my actual self. Pretty basic right...I got orange base color and copper highlights that are only in the back and underneath. She told me next time I come she'll give me highlights in the front that go to my root....Ummm I am confused that is what I paid for NOW, this time! I called and asked her to fix it and she told me she was going to charge me because it would be 2 weeks later. So I guess I should've came back the next week so my hair could fall out. Go somewhere else not capable of doing a good job z read more
