Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is probably the smallest and easiest airport I've flown…read moreinto (and out of). There are only 6 gates in this single terminal and I just love how bright and airy it is. There is a small cafe that opens a little after 4am called Sugar Mill Cafe, just after you pass through TSA checkpoint. Picking up my luggage from baggage claim was a breeze and their carts were free - no need to pay for a SmarteCarte here. Overall, really great airport that's easy to navigate. I had an early morning flight and it was nice and peaceful. Also, I really enjoyed the music they played in the terminal during the morning hours: Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Erroll Garner, Paul Mauriat, etc.

There simply isn't enough traffic to maintain airline lounges or too many restaurants. That's all fine and dandy. What's not great is the one restaurant they do have in this airport. It struggles to handle the demands during any modestly busy times. I watched with disappointment as they forgot my order. Accidents happen, and I truthfully wasn't too mad or unpleasant about it. I requested an update on my order after about 30 minutes of waiting and it took them another 5 minutes or so to finish. Apparently, my experience wasn't unique. This is fine, stuff happens. But then the staff chose to talk trash about me for no reason. I'm still confused because I genuinely wasn't rude in the slightest to them.

Our Christian Motorcyclist Association was serving breakfast and we held church on Sunday. This is a great biker friendly campsite. The price was comparable to bike week prices, but far cheaper than other places. We will definitely come back.

We were looking for a campground in the area, while we were visiting with family. We reserved an rv…read moresite. The original site we were given was so sunken that we weren't able to open up the steps for our camper near the patio. Eventually we were moved to another site that was sunken but tolerable. We've never had this issue before, The second thing was the location of the sewer. It was pushed so far back. We needed to purchase an extension. Additionally, we have a toy hauler so when we we opened the door, we were basically hovering over it. The grounds did have a pool, very clean rest rooms and laundry. I didn't like that the laundry room didn't have detergent vending machines or a coin machine. It was inconvenient. In the end, the grounds were sufficient for us since we were just there at night to sleep. We were off with family during the day.

We thought since we are far east so the hurricane will not be too bad. We chose to stay till the day we are supposed to leave which is 2 days later after Hurricane Ian. We parked on the low side of the park. No warning about flooding or anything from the office. And guess what, our spot got flooded so bad that we have to move during Hurricane. All compartments got submerged, and we had to stay a little longer to get everything dry and pack up which is on the day we are supposed to check out. Christy did not ask why we are late or Are you guys ok? RUDE on the phone telling us to leave right now. With plenty of open spots in the park she didn't offer help or the opportunity to let us stay longer but sent a maintainance guy to watch us packing, and make sure we leave before she clocks out. She is the kind of woman who has no heart! Just for that I will never go back to the park unless she is fired!
