We stayed here during Bike Week and they do a pretty good job. The grounds are attractive and they have some nice green areas which were used for tent camping and trailer storage. The location is very convenient. The spaces are very tight, and the utility connections were pretty far back on the space. We were escorted back and directed in to our spot which was essential due to the crowded conditions.

Worst campground in the state! It's a live in residence campground. Don't be fooled by the pics! The maintenance crew, if that's what you'd call them don't even know what their job is. Grass looked good when we moved in and never was taking care after. We live full time in campgrounds for work and this one is by far the biggest mis ran, dysfunctional campground to date. The transits that live there in their ran down shacks with wheels need to go back to the hole they came out of. There are PLENTY of better options close by don't be fooled by this place!! I wouldn't even give the one star!!

Clean friendly staff. My family and I have been traveling for nine months now and this is by far the best RV park we have found. We have been treated like family. The office girls, Liz and Janet are very helpful and always smiling. The manager April is very professional and on top of everything. It's nice to be at a place that all rules apply to everyone. The outside crew is extremely friendly and helpful, gentlemen that will go out of their way to help you. Whether if it's carry your propane or when you get locked out of your camper (and I did that!) The pool is clean and warm. Pet park is my favorite. It's a peaceful place to start the day.

Save your money. This campground is a shit show. Campers are on top of each other, septic pipes next to our picnic table. See photos. No wi-fi, pool is cleaned early morning, by the afternoon you have to swim between leaves and sticks. Be sure to use a surge protector, septic unreliable. Campground store is a joke. Prices are over the top and no refunds for anything.

Great host, close to everything and not far from the beach. Nice pool, good restaurants in the area. Enjoyed the two months we staid there.

It's close by...and I'll bet you didn't even know it!…read more It sounds sort of funny, but I never even knew this place was an actual park until recently. It was within walking distance of one of my friend's houses, and I somehow thought it was part of the neighborhood. This place may be cleverly disguised, but there is a lot to see and do, and this has one of the best inland walking paths in all of Port Ornage. The Good: Walk it off: Honestly the thing I like the most about Spruce Creek is the different walking trails. They go around the park, and even continue over the water, and everything is just beautiful. I used to come here all the time with friends and it was a cool spot to hang out. And if you're going on a mid-afternoon stroll with someone special, you really can't go wrong with this place. The trail is about 3 miles long, but even so, it feels very short. Nice and quiet: Aside from the occasional field trip, this place is almost never crowded. This could, of course, be due to the fact that this place is huge, and even when there are a lot of people you just don't notice them. Spend the day: While there's not really a whole lot to *do* per se, there are picnic tables and playground equipment. If you are trying to spend a nice relaxing day out, Spruce creek is the perfect place The Bad: N/A Spruce creek is a very peaceful and tranquil place to go visit, away from the noise of Daytona Beach. While it might not have as much stuff to do as a lot of the other volusia parks, I count that as a good thing. Overall 8.8/10= Just Chillin'

We thought since we are far east so the hurricane will not be too bad. We chose to stay till the day we are supposed to leave which is 2 days later after Hurricane Ian. We parked on the low side of the park. No warning about flooding or anything from the office. And guess what, our spot got flooded so bad that we have to move during Hurricane. All compartments got submerged, and we had to stay a little longer to get everything dry and pack up which is on the day we are supposed to check out. Christy did not ask why we are late or Are you guys ok? RUDE on the phone telling us to leave right now. With plenty of open spots in the park she didn't offer help or the opportunity to let us stay longer but sent a maintainance guy to watch us packing, and make sure we leave before she clocks out. She is the kind of woman who has no heart! Just for that I will never go back to the park unless she is fired!

The next day, amid drying things out, assessing damage, and reclaiming out tow dolly from 16" of water, the staff was literally shouting at us to leave since it was our last day. I received a very rude phone call about moving our rv from the high ground we retreated to, and as we were packing up, one of the maintenance people started yelling at my wife about how we have to leave. Even in non-emergency situation, a late check-out isn't unheard of. The final interactions with the staff left a sour taste in my mouth, and we will not be returning because of that. Nice park, impatient staff.

However, we suffered a huge loss in our family and my aunt and uncle had to cancel their trip. Again, they booked the campground during daytona and this place is nearby. I'm 100% sure they were able to rebook it, no problem. However, the manager, Andrew, treated my uncle horribly and had zero empathy for the situation. He simply said he didn't care what their circumstances were and refused to provide any type of refund (even partial). That means they got double for this camp site and profited off a family's grief. Absolutely despicable and I cannot say enough that I hope no one chooses to give this place their money.

The sites are all grass, and ours had ants which came inside and were not appreciated. There were lots of permanent residents here and they don't help the look of the place. This park has some cabin type buildings and some tent camping area for folks that like that style of camping. It is pretty conveniently located to all kinds of grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The staff we dealt with when making our reservations were very nice and helpful. Check in at the park was no problem, but we wished they had guided us to our site, getting there was quite confusing.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

My Hubby and I love kayaking, so we booked an excursion months in advance for Rock Springs through TripAdvisor. Our Tour Operator was Get Up And Go Kayaking located at Kings Landing in Apopka, FL. I LOVE saying Apopka ;) The good news: Apopka is a quick 1 hour drive from Orlando. Make sure you don't miss the turn to King's Landing, because the entrance is located on a narrow dirt road. You must drive past Kelly Park (which fills up fast). There is a Park Ranger located here who will guide you to King's Landing. As you get closer and if you see a parking spot, grab it! Check in is located in the Cabin like office where you will have to sign a waiver. If you do not want to take a clear bottom, guided Kayak tour, you can either rent or BYO Kayak versus taking a semi private, clear, guided kayak tour. NOTE: ONLY use their Sunscreen/lotion which is provided at no cost. It protects the wildlife and the Springs. We wanted the full experience as we have previously enjoyed renting clear Kayaks. Our guide for the morning was: Megan, who was fantastic! Full of energy, information and helpful tidbits about the Springs and its human and wildlife inhabitants. Our group was small and capped at 10. We paddled through both narrow and open stretches, and stopped to swim in the warm, crystal-clear water. One highlight was a banyan tree with an 8-foot natural "jump hole"--such a cool experience! It was a serene, memorable day, and fun fact: this is the very spring featured in the Visit Orlando commercials! Yeah, definitely take a day away from crowded Orlando to relax and enjoy Mother Nature! You will Thank Me ;)
