Upon reading reviews of UCEDA Elizabeth NJ my husband and I jumped on the possibility to attend and…read morechose UCEDA over Zoni. Boy were we wrong. We paid and signed on 3/8/23 and he started first level classes, which he was super excited about. Upon the entering the 2nd level, the evening teacher resigned. They brought in two substitutes that unfortunately did not work out. Substitute teachers would send them home earlier than the two hours and disclosed that they didn't know what they were doing. After two weeks of classes, the cancelled classes until they were able to bring an evening teacher. We kept calling and no one answered. A nice receptionist just kept saying "we're trying to find an evening teacher." Finally, we got tired of waiting and asked for our money back only for the 2nd level classes and they declined after waiting months for them to return our calls, hire someone to teach and get them back on track. Months later they finally found someone, they're offering the evening classes again but have not called everyone back. Attached are the screenshots of our conversations. Overall, they are unprofessional, unresponsive and they took our money. Please be careful when attending this school.

They also provide wrong information which might be because they want to keep you there ($$$). Classes are all merged super messy. Student population is all working illegally and lazy and loves it there because they can get there late and be marked present anyway (which is not even legal). Culture seems fake too but clearly nobody cares about us students, they only care about money

This is a school for performing & Fine Arts such Greats are products of this school, such as Sarah Vaughn, Melba Moore, Tisha Campbell, Savion Glover & the list goes on; this is the place where talent is enhanced & perfected. Some go to Arts High because the arts is a hobby, others because they long for a future in the industry; some pursue their passion, while others go on to do other things. The best memories I have of Arts High is the friendships and bonds that were built. I have fond memories of Fashion Shows, Winter Concerts, Dance Performances, Photography, Artist; just being in the mist of such great talent hailing from this City with a reputation, you can't even imagine the competitiveness, yet love. We had our ups & downs and after revisiting, it's great to see the improvements that were made over the years, I am so proud & honored to say this place is one of the best schools in Newark for so many reasons. If I lived in Newark & my child was in high school, this is where I would want them to go.
