I took my kids out of Public School and they were making such great grades there. I still wanted something better for my kids. But I was not at all satisfied with HEKETI. Parents make sure you take your time and choose the right school for your kids. My kids were so very unhappy at that Heketi Charter school. Aquinas is based on academics nothing more nothing less, so you could imagine me and many others comparing it to other schools who had awesome trips, great teams, and even better atmosphere. Going into my senior year of college I can admit that those academics followed me enhancing my essay writing skills, typing (90 wpm depending on my anxiety), and organizational skills. Aquinas prepped me since sophomore year to start studying for my SAT's, now I've been studying for my GMAT's and Grad Schools applications because at the end of the day you gotta stay ahead of the curve. And with its academic nature I think this school is really competitive. I had a B average and was ranked rather low compared to the rest of the girls there. Bottom Line - You don't feel the value of this school and education until you need it, ex. College and onward.

I had great jobs and opportunities that i really contribute to the skills and education i developed in Aquinas. It took years to enhance the love I now have for education, constantly reading/growing. The school emphasizes kindness, empathy and inclusion; is very nurturing in the lower school and then works to transition the girls through middle and high school so that they emerge confident young women who are decisive, focused, engaged and compassionate. New Ventures Charter School over at the Teleport has an amazing principle, Ryan Melis…read more Mr. Melis has taken a child who has not been, let's say, fond of school and has made her not only want to go to school but actually is excited about school. He has a history of taking students in who have been told they either will Not graduates in time or will go nowhere and has Graduated them (many in time) and has gave them the confidence to be proud of themselves. Mr. Melis also has recruited a wonderful caring staff. They ALL actually care about the kids in their program. I highly recommend New Ventures.
