I've been to other dog parks in Oklahoma City and I have to say Edmond Dog Park is the best! My husband and I foster dogs and this is a great way for them to meet people and interact with dogs of all sizes. It also teaches them social skills and wear them out so that they come home, have dinner, and snuggle up to me asleep. The park is divided into small dogs (less than 25 lbs) and big dogs (greater than 25 lbs). If you have a brave little dog that would do well with big dogs, you can bring him/her to the big dogs side because it is A LOT bigger than the small dogs side. My little Dachshund mix pup loves it here and she adores the sweet people she meets each time and loves to chase and be chase by the doggies here. It's also cute to watch our dog and foster dogs recognize the dog park and get excited in the car when they look out in the windows and see that we are pulling into the park. I am a DOG lover and anything DOG gives me endorphins and makes me happy.

Even in the winter Tank enjoys a good swim!!

Drove 40 minutes to this park this week (2-2019). It's a lovely park with water (which my dogs love). You don't have to swim , but it's an option behind the gate. It even has a boardwalk to get the pups down to the water level. I appreciate this park, for its size, water to swim in, and even a water well so the dogs always have fresh water. I wish we had one as nice in Norman!!! When it's hot this summer and my dogs need to swim.....we will be back

Great dog park filled with happy dogs and friendly humans. We enjoyed the pond. There is a nice platform and stairs you can hangout on while your dog swims.

Great walking trail around the pond as well as a huge amount of park space for the dogs to run.

This park is large and has water access with a gate. My only issue is that none of the benches are in the shade.

I don't know what took me so long to make a review. I've been coming here for years. This place…read morewill always have a special place in my heart. I first started coming here when my Great Dane, Minnie, was just a puppy. This was to help her socialize. Ever since then, it's felt like a second home. We even met the pup, Flynn(previously Tuna)that we ended up adopting here from the amazing Lindi. The atmosphere feels like home. There are so many things to do for both dogs and humans! While the dogs play, we usually grab some food and they are always introducing new items to the menu, so we always have new things to try whenever we visit. And I will say that I have never been disappointed with anything that we've ordered. The drinks are amazing too! Clever names, great prices, and delicious! They always have super fun events going on too! From weekly bingo and singo to pop up markets, events, Holiday parties, and even doggy prom! Thank you to everyone there that has made us feel like family. We're so grateful to be apart of this community. We love our pups second home. That's all for my really long review. I could go on forever about how much we love this place.

There is usually a good amount of dogs so my dog has a blast. I feel comfortable leaving her in the yard while I go grab food or a drink. The staff takes very good care of the dogs and knows all of their names. They are also all very friendly humans. 10/10 recommend.

Scissortail Park - Canada Geese

Ask a local. Loved…read morevisiting Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City. The park is filled with flower gardens, native prairie grssses and som many walkways. It was so nice to explore on a sunny spring afternoon. This has to be a bird lovers paradise. The Scissortail is the state bird of Oklahoma. It is known for its distinctive black and white tail that seems to open and close like a pair of scissors during flight. Just the tail can grow up to 10 inches. Although I did not see any Scissortails, there were plenty of other birds to spot. Red-winged blackbirds. House finches. Great tailed grackles. Green herons. Great white egrets. And the cutest family of Canada geese with their little gosling babies. Adorable! Don't miss the Skydance Bridge. Also known as the Scissortail Bridge, it is inspired by the courtship dance of the Scissortail birds. The pedestrian bridge crosses over I-40 linking the two sides of the park. A great recommendation from a local.

Scissortail Park is an impressive, vibrant urban park with so much to offer. From basketball courts…read moreand pickleball, soccer field, playground to outdoor fitness classes and a farmers market the day I went, it's clear the park was designed to bring people together and keep the community active. There's an energy to the place that feels welcoming and full of life. One of the standout features is the lush greenery and wildflower plantings throughout the grounds. Even in the fall, you can see how thoughtfully the landscape was designed and it's easy to imagine how stunning and colorful everything must look in the spring when the flowers are in full bloom. It's a beautiful space with a lot of visual interest. That said, Scissortail Park isn't exactly a quiet escape. Its location right next to the freeway means you'll hear a steady hum of traffic almost everywhere you go. On one side of the park the noise is slightly muffled, but it never fully disappears. Add in the loud music from group classes like Zumba, and the atmosphere leans more energetic than peaceful. Overall, Scissortail Park is a gorgeous, activity packed destination, perfect for recreation, community events, and enjoying the outdoors , just don't expect a serene, quiet retreat. It's lively, beautiful, and full of things to do.

Hidden history, hometown pride, and one very cool rocket ship!…read more After finishing my visit to the Edmond Historical Museum, I stepped outside and realized Stephenson Park was literally next door. Since it was such a beautiful Oklahoma day, I decided to spend some time exploring--and I'm glad I did. This isn't just another neighborhood park. Everywhere you look there's a little piece of Edmond's history. I especially enjoyed reading about the famous Rocket Ship Slide, a playground icon that generations of Edmond kids remember. While the original slide has been retired, the restored rocket display is a wonderful tribute to the park's past. The new playground is outstanding, with plenty of room for children to climb, play, and burn off energy. The walking paths, shade trees, benches, and open green space make it just as enjoyable for adults who simply want to relax. As a retired Air Force veteran, I was especially touched by the "Peace" military monument honoring the men and women who have served our country. It was a meaningful reminder that parks can preserve memories as well as provide recreation. I also noticed the park hosts Thursday evening concerts, and after seeing the setting, I already know I'll be back when the weather cools down. Whether you're visiting the museum, traveling through Edmond, or simply looking for a peaceful place to spend an hour, Stephenson Park is well worth the stop. Sometimes the best attractions are the ones you discover by accident.

Super fun park with an area for the littles and the bigs. Great for parties. Plenty of shaderead more
