We are a family on a road trip and decided it was time to let the dogs out to potty and play a bit. Got directions here to be met with a membership only park... wtf... To charge for a public use park that isn't even indicated on the government website as a paid place is a little suspect to me. Paw Park is now membership only. You have to pay $10/month or $100/year for a dog park that is poorly maintained. Half of the park is dirt the other half is weeds. They have no proper water station set up- just a hose and some old plastic bowls. Unless they get their act together and clean this place up we will probably never consider their membership. I've been to a membership only park in Dallas once and it was so nice. Properly maintained grass, doggy water stations, shaded areas with doggy pools, etc. Now that's a membership worth paying for! It's a shame that the owners of Paw Park got so greedy. read more

Nestled in the Stars and Stripes park, it's a nice location. The park surrounding the dog park is beautiful and green and allows for a great walk after your doggo has some fun at the dog park. The dog park has a lot of dirt, wish there was more grass but it does have nicely shaded spots, 3-4 benches and bags for dog poop pickups. It is very large so the big dogs have plenty of room to run! Everyone and their pets were friendly from what we experienced. A pretty clean dog park and we will likely return. Give it a shot! Also, there is a sectioned area behind the dog park that has a pond in case you want that. It's nice that it is separate from the dog park because I didn't want Loki getting wet that day. read more

Great park, I've only met friendly owners here and it's pretty big so the dogs can exercise plenty. There's a small dog area and a separate area with a pond for swimming. Lots of leftover tennis balls and frisbees laying around as well. The area around the dog park is nice too, bike/run trail parallel to the road near the lake if you want to park far and jog with your dog to the park or something. read more

This dog park is awesome. I have two 7lb dogs so we are always on the little dog side. The park is always very clean and there is a tiny little pool of your dog likes water. There is always a small box of toys for the dogs to play with as well. For the most part people clean up after their dogs which makes it nice for everyone. It is a great place to take your pup and if you like it, there is a little box to make a donation to the park. Bring the pup and have a great time! read more

I went to Paw Park for the first time this past weekend and had a great time...until an aggressive pit showed up and upset several of the other dogs...and everyone scattered. The grounds were kept fairly clean from poo but there was quite a bit of mud...and it hadn't even rained. The place has room for improvement but it was certainly a nice experience. I particularly liked the pond area where retrievers can fetch balls in the water. Also, it was good to have separate areas for smaller dogs and larger dogs. My dogs had a blast playing with others and went home happy and tired. read more

Pretty upset at the dog park charging people to start coming here. It's a nice place, and one of my favs, but people also don't monitor their dogs. Our dogs have a great time here. They have separate areas for little dogs and larger ones for safety reasons, which is nice - but if you have one of each know that you have to separate them. So be prepared that you can't be in two places at once. The chain link fence separating the large from the small is nice - as it allows the smaller dogs to at least run with the big dogs without danger of being run over. The only reason they don't get five stars is because they had a volunteer that started scolding us for keeping our smallest dog on a leash. She practically forced me to take it off my dog (by reaching over my hands and taking it off without my permission) saying that I wasn't allowing my dog the confidence needed to be a dog. I had my reasons for keeping her on a leash longer than my other pup, as she'd never been and I wanted to see how she'd socialize with others before I let her run free. It turned out that she fit in nicely - but no one should tell you how to parent your own kids (2 legged and 4). It's our family - fur and otherwise - and we get to decide how we work as a unit in the park. Unless we're breaking the rules - let us play and unwind on our own! She then started yelling at my child for petting one of the other dogs, as he could get 'bit' but what she didn't know is that he was with our other dog, having fun - as he SHOULD. This lady was way to controlling and I nick-named her the 'dog park nazi'. When we left I said, "no fun for you!!" When you go, follow the rules but don't allow anyone to bully you, your family members, or your pets. The great part of this park is how friendly all the patrons are. They're all dog lovers obviously so your pets get love at every turn, from friendly pets to their owners. Be prepared to be covered in dog slobber, fur, and smiles. Lastly, remember to bring your doggie bags to pick up your doggie droppings and some water for your thirsty pups. read more

If you've got a dog who enjoys being outdoors and socializing, you've got to take him or her to Paw Park. A fairly new addition to the Lake Hefner area, Paw Park is canine heaven. It actually ranked in the top ten dog parks in the nation last year in (I believe) Dog Fancy magazine. There's a separate smaller area for small dogs (so they don't get trampled by exuberant labs) and a large area for big dogs (including a pond). Tall, secure fences keep the animals safe from nearby Hefner Parkway. Benches are provided for people to sit down and there are plenty of trash bins around (for you to dispose of any business your dog may have needed to take care of). Admission is free, people are generally friendly (even if a surprising amount of them don't neuter their animals- seriously, who doesn't neuter in this day and age?), and your dog will have a great time. read more

Much larger than our usual dog park, for both the small and large dog areas. Their hours are relatively short, if you want to come in the evenings you basically must come immediately after work. They also close seasonally, but have just reopened for spring. They have some comfortable seating areas, both covered and uncovered. Multiple dog bowls on bricks, so it doesn't get muddy. Sadly, the road noise from the interstate is constant. Not a lot to be done about that. Overall, a very nice dog park. read more

There are three different sections of the dog park. 1) Little Dog Area 2) Big Dog Area 3) Walking Path There's lots of space for your dog to run and play. There's a pond if your dog is a swimmer. They have a separate fenced area for smaller dogs, and and very large fenced area for bigger dogs that includes a pond for them to run thru. My dogs had a blast here. Also, they have an extended dog run that takes you around the pond and kind of through the woods. It is a beautiful walk, and you can let your dogs run free. REMINDER: your dogs must have their tags or proof of shots in order to get in. They are very serious about this requirement, and you will be asked to leave if you don't have proof of proper vaccines. read more

I love paw park and I'm a regular because my dog loves this park more than me, and what my dog wants, she gets. Make sure you have your updated rabies tags on, otherwise you could get a fine. Always keep an eye on your dog, and if you are new here, leaving them on the leash is dangerous, brush up on your dog park etiquette before you come or the volunteers will ask you to leave, especially if your dog is aggressive. There are plenty of benches, gravel walk ways and water stations. Lots of running room to chase balls and other dogs and even a water feature for the dogs to swim. One of my favorite features is the dog run around the park that you can remove your dog from the leash and let them run down and around the park. We have a blast every time we go. I usually come after work and its always the perfect place to watch a nice sunset. read more

I like it when there are only about ten dogs out there. That seems to be the perfect number for good socialization and good fetch play. My dogs cannot seem to stay out of the pond. They are automatically drawn to the water as soon as we get there and I spend the rest of the time playing fetch and keeping them out of the water to dry off. So I am a paid member cause 10 bucks isn't a whole lot to me. The park has soft grass on both the small dog and big dog side and near the lake. They are constantly upgrading and adding fun decorations. They added kiddy pools for the dogs to play in, a ramp for dogs to go over, and have new toys for everyone to use all the time. I get that this used to be free, but I love that it's monitored who comes in and when and that the dogs are all vaccinated. I've had issues at other parks with random strangers dogs starting fights and they just run off before I can get info. It's now more of a community and there are dog play dates all the time. If you don't want to pay, then there's a trail on the outside that leads to a big field your dog can play in. read more

There are a lot of complaints about the new charging model for use of a privately maintained park, saying they don't see any maintenance that needs to be done or the purpose of charging a fee, and that's because it has been done through donations for years and the donations waned. Before the membership fee, they were either using their own money or the small amount of donations they received. For people that weren't giving donations before, we were essentially letting our dogs play in someone's backyard for free. I understand the fee is not feasible for everyone, but we are happy to pay it. They have already made improvements to include improving the grass, water spigots and bench platforms. Several people have commented on the assumption that the park will now close due to the fee, but a representative from the park said they have more than met the minimum needed to continue. There are still plenty of dogs to play with and it is encouraging to know all of the dogs have been properly vetted. We prefer this park to the Edmond dog park and are happy to contribute to its betterment. read more

The Paw Park in Oklahoma City is a terrible park for our dogs. The man that runs it , is not people person. He makes up rules that are not on his rule list. He's is rude and bossing. The Paw Park isn't kept up either. There was a water faucet inside the park where the water kept on running and the patrons couldn't shut it off completely. It is a paying membership dog park. It is a total waste of our money when the patrons are paying for the water and the water faucet keeps running water. Dead limbs on the trees are left on the trees and not trim. read more
