About a day later, Joe gave me a call and let me know he found the issue to be much more simple and that the transmission itself was in pretty good shape. Delighted, I came and picked it up to the tune of less than $500. His expertise saved me a couple thousand bucks and time without my vehicle. I am fairly confident most other shops would have just taken my cash and rebuilt a transmission that didn't need it. Joe is not much of a talker, but he's an honest mechanic who knows his craft. The shop may be a little hard to get a hold of - phone tag and whatnot - and I think he had forgotten about the call a few days later when I dropped off anyway, but it's worth the patience to come here.

The dealership was over $1800. After looking on yelp I found Joe at Broadway transmissions. I was able to talk to him and was quoted $900-1000 for a brand new clutch. He was able to pick up our car after lunch and was very courteous to my wife. My wife was able to catch an Enterprise rental to return to Dallas. Our car was fixed in just a few days and has run beautifully every since! We were able to pay his wonderful wife by credit card and pick up the car over the weekend even while they were closed. My 06 Winnebago/Sprinter View transmission failed all of sudden at 88k miles. I was stranded in…read moreLouisiana. So I read up on my options, saw some good reviews on Sprinter forum, and contacted Silverstar. They answered all my questions. So I ordered their rebuilt trans for $2500. (Mercedes remanufactured was quoted at about $6400) Something went wrong on the install and a threaded connection on the bellhousing that holds the cooling line failed. That ruined the trans. Unbelievable. Then came the finger-pointing between dealer and Silverstar. Now I was on day 14 in a hotel, absolutely raring to get back on the open road but still stuck. Then I got an email from Silverstar saying, "My friend, you're between a rock and a hard place. That's why we're sending a warranty transmission.". Huge relief. It shipped right away. In all likelihood the problem happened at the dealership and it wasn't a faulty unit, but Silverstar stood behind their product -- as they promised up front. All's well 1000 miles later -- Thank you Silverstar!!!

I have a 4 star instead of 5 star was the fact that the $150 dynastic test wasn't waived after using their services. There are a few in town that waive the fee if they find the issue & you use their services.

They were supposed to only do a AC service and test my battery. When I dropped off that morning and reminded them of an exact pick up time, they said okay. They then called at the exact time saying it would take another 45 minutes and I had a lot of other issues, great, super. Thanks for looking at everything when you weren't told to, but you wasted your time slot for what needed to be truly done. So when I came to pick up, the ac service was not fully recharged or filled because they "were out of time." And I still had to pay over 200 dollars of labor.
