First time visiting Denver/Fort Collins and we happened to be walking at downtown Fort Collins when I saw how many people were walking in and out of this cute ice cream place. So we had to try it! I was not disappointed! I had the strawberry shortcake which was a gluten-free and dairy-free ice cream, which was divine!! Could've ordered another one even though I ordered a mini size but it was like a regular waffle cone. I didn't try the other flavours but they had some local and unique flavours. Free testers on a real tiny small spoon with a hatch along their counter to put your dirty spoon through! It was super cool and inventive! Try their ice cream if you're in the area! I would've gone back here but we were staying 20-ish mins south of this area which was out of the way for the remainder of our trip, sadly. read more

Edison's Ice Cream - I was too excited to take a pic before I ate it, but this is the GF and DF strawberry shortcake! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Fort Collins, Colorado

We were actually on our way to a different ice cream shop when we stumbled across this spot in the heart of Fort Collins--and I'm so glad we did. It's right in the middle of all the shopping and food, surrounded by other dessert places, but this one definitely stands out. Their ice cream is made in-house, and it sounds like they rotate flavors regularly, which is always a good sign. I went with a double chocolate flavor, and wow--it was phenomenal. It had that perfect balance of sweetness with a slight rich bitterness that real chocolate lovers will appreciate. I'm pretty sure there were brownie chunks mixed in too, which made it even better. Everything tasted fresh, super creamy, and really hit the spot. On top of that, the shop itself is small, cute, and sits right on the corner--perfect for stopping by while exploring the area. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Fort Collins, especially if you're a chocolate fan like me! read more

This space is so cute. When I walked in there was a short line, but the servers were all very efficient so it moved quickly. They have a great menu with innovative flavors. I couldn't decide, so I got a double mini which was about two scoops of ice cream with a crushed waffle cone topping. I got the lemon bar and the salted honey and I honestly couldn't decide which was better between the two of them. The lemon bar has chunks of lemon curd in a lemon ice cream and the salted honey has a salty honeycomb crunch. Sooo good. My server was very friendly. read more

Delicious ice cream! I tried the mint Oreo and strawberry shortcake. Seems to always be busy but the line goes fast. Absolutely enjoyed the ice cream and will be going back. Be prepared to wait in line. read more

I could write a novel about this magical place and I also volunteer to be their official spokesperson (my DMs are open ). I've already told a bunch of people about this place so I suppose it's time to share my thoughts here as well. This is without a doubt my favorite ice cream shop. Why? Because I can actually eat it without feeling sick afterwards!!! As a lactose intolerant person who loves cheese and ice cream I usually suffer through the discomfort in order to enjoy these delicious dairy delights. But thanks to Edison's - that's no longer the case! When I saw this place I thought about stopping in and then a friend said their seasonal flavors were dairy free. I thought "that's odd. I wonder if they're any good". Then I looked at their site and literally said out loud "we're going here. This place was made for me!" I'm not sure what sort of Willy Wonka magic they're doing behind the scenes, but you can't tell the ice cream is dairy free! I enjoyed every single flavor I sampled and believe me I sampled a lot. My friend and I ended up splitting a flight so we could maximize our flavor options. The staff were very friendly, the pint jars are super adorable, and best of all I didn't feel terrible when I left! The best and worse thing about Edison's is that I don't live super close. When they decide to expand further south - I'll be in trouble. read more

This little ice cream shop is the vibe. It's old timey but also so cute and trendy. They had 5 vegan flavors which are labeled on the menu board and easily found. The staff was helpful with all questions. You can add toppings to your ice cream such as olive oil or sea salt which I found unique and tasty. I got cookie dough ice cream and it was beyond tasty I really enjoyed it. Our experience was great and we will return. read more

A must have ice cream place in Colorado! Pretty big local ice cream spot with clean simple vibe. Very delicious unique flavored ice cream. We love how environmentally friendly they are and they sell their ice cream in glass jar. We tried Oranged infused olive oil, salted honey, strawberry short cake and winter seasonal: peppermint bark! Very delicious. Very great service, they let you try as many flavors as you'd like to try. read more

A friend local to Fort Collins brought my husband and I here on their opening day. The line was a little long, but it moved fast. I love that they do half scoops. I was able to get a waffle cone with: - Lemon Bar - Salted Honey - Strawberry Shortcake - Orange Infused Olive Oil Every flavor was fantastic. My favorite was the salted honey. Honeycomb ice cream is my favorite and they put giant chunks in theirs. My second favorite was the strawberry shortcake, but you honestly can't go wrong. Even though they were swamped, the staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful. They make their own waffle cones too, so make sure to try one. This is hands down the best ice cream I've had in Colorado. I wish I didn't live 1.5 hours away. I'll be back anytime I'm in Fort Collins (or anywhere nearby). read more

It is shocking to me that Edison's has a nearly 5 star rating. I would be willing to bet that there is little, if any cream in their "ice cream". What it is is a mixture of texture modifiers and sugar and flavoring. It seems to be the norm for ice cream parlors now. As I stated in my review of "The Churn" down the street, it sits on your tongue like a freshly hawked loogie. They seem to sell it by the ton though. They're "laughing all the way to the bank". read more

Edison's has my favorite ice cream in Colorado and one of my favorite ice cream flavors ever--Salted Honey. It has a sweet honey base but what makes it special is the crunchy honeycomb toffee chunks mixed throughout. It's sweet and salty, crunchy and smooth. When I went, the line was out the door and around the corner. Thankfully, the staff is both fast and friendly. As for the ambiance, it's a cute little ice cream parlor. Looks fresh and new on the inside. It's a nice blend of old meets new interior. read more

Let's just start by saying that produce is Sooooo good! And that's why there's a constant stream of customers even when it's chilly outside. It was very busy when we visited but they kept things moving. While visiting the beautiful town of Fort Collins I had to get my daily portion of sugar ha! I checked out Edison's Ice Cream; the majority of their products are gluten-free and dairy-free. It's popular for its salted honey flavor, so of course, I got that flavor, along with cookies and cream and strawberry ice cream on a waffle cone. I like that you have the option to try their ice cream before deciding. Service is fast and staff is very friendly and welcoming. read more

Edison's was nice and quaint. I was greeted and assisted upon entering the barista was attentive and answered all questions that I had. The downside was the limited options to choose from but overall nice and definitely will try again :) read more

Although it is new, this parlor contributes to the magic of Old Town FOCO that inspired Harper Goff, and the adorability that continues to inspire. It's a necessity if you're in the area and a highly recommended detour if you're not. Each bite demanded a comment; "Mmm yum" "Have you tried this flavor yet?" "SO GOOD" "These cookie pieces!?" "I simply can't get enough." until finally the pure bliss overtook us and we savored in silence. The establishment's value of allergen consciousness was evident in both the DF and GF placards as well as the workers' diligence in rinsing the scoops and courteous (somewhat excessive) questions. Luckily for them I am only intolerant to grumps and the premises was clear! So yes, the peanuts in the swirl will be the opposite of a problem, and I'll find an excuse to drive 40 mins back for more! (Ask if you want my additional thoughts on the 6 flavors I sampled!) read more

An Ice Cream Revelation at Edison's Let me start by saying: I am not an ice cream person. In 50+ years, ice cream has always been... fine. Something I could take or leave without a second thought. Until Edison's. A few months ago, friends suggested we stop by after dinner. I shrugged and thought, sure, why not. Then I tried a free sample of their Strawberry Shortcake ice cream -- and audibly gasped, "Oh. My. God." It was the best ice cream I've ever tasted in my life. Huge, juicy chunks of strawberries. Real pieces of shortcake. Luxuriously creamy ice cream. And the mix-ins are generous -- not the usual token sprinkle you find elsewhere. This flavor is fully, unapologetically loaded. My husband loves their German Chocolate and Melted Chocolate. The Lemon Bar is outstanding. They also offer creative specialty flavors with orange, olive oil, and honey that are truly unique. And for those who need it, they have plenty of gluten-free options. But for me? Edison's Strawberry Shortcake remains the single best ice cream I have ever had. Anywhere. Ever. We now go once a week. Because after Edison's, the phrase "ice cream" has an entirely new meaning. read more

Their salted honey is honestly one of my favorite ice cream flavors ever. Their other flavors are fine but the salted honey is next level. We are hard pressed to try anything else when we go there because we love it so much. read more

It markets itself as a revamped, old-fashioned creamery, but the menu is more trendy ice cream shop in a really expensive beach town. The flavors are incredibly unique and delicious, but they have no toppings and no sundaes, and not a whole lot of variety. My review is biased, cause if your sign and your shop is that large, I feel like you should do more than artisan scoops, especially with how highly recommended this place is. But my grandmother didn't approve, and that's where I draw the line. read more

Delicious!! The ice cream is pricey, but it *tastes* expensive. Definitely worth it for a celebration or to cap off your night out. Edison's has unique flavors like honeycomb, German chocolate cake, and lemon bar. They offer cups, cones, and various toppings. The folks who work here were all friendly and patient, even while passing out samples. We went on a Saturday night, and there was a line almost out the door! It moved quickly, and we were happy to wait for this tasty treat. (No pictures cause we ate it too fast!) read more

I love ice cream. I was on vacay and tried ice cream from most thenplaces in downtown. This one was memorable as it had dairy free, gluten free, vegan and specialized options to the usual flavors and to the unique flavors. They offered lots of free samples, a good variety, and friendly staff made it enjoyable. The location is lovely, visible from several angles, and large. Prices were great and my double oreo ice cream was devine!! Thx for a tasty treat! read more

Good and we welcome a new ice cream option... but please, please don't go too far with the sugar. Let the flavor and the non-sugar elements of the ice cream lead the way. Too much sugar and you start to taste like Crumbl Cookie or other hyper-sugar dessert options. Less sugar, more natural ingredients and flavor, please. Trust your flavor instincts. read more

Pretty pumped to try this ice cream. Great location and great decoration. Took my kids, maybe it's our bad for not sampling the ice cream first because it was busy. But we took recommendations from the staff and had orange olive oil, honey salt, cookie dough and strawberry shortcake. Honey salt was weird as hell, ended up throwing it away, orange was ok but different, cookie dough was sub par, strawberry was over the top sugary. Lots of ice chucks in our ice cream. Great staff though. read more

The clouds have opened up and the angels are singing! I recently learned that I am allergic to dairy and have been struggling to find an ice cream that I love, until now!! If you're gluten free and haven't checked out Edison's, go check it out! If you're dairy free and you haven't checked out Edison's, go check it out! And if you're not gluten free or dairy and you haven't checked out Edison's, go check it out! Basically, whoever you are and whatever your dietary restrictions, go to Edison's! You will not be disappointed. The ice cream is truly amazing. I wish I lived closer, but would probably also gain 30 pounds from eating there so often if I lived closed . As a gluten free person / person with celiac, it's so amazing to be able to eat any flavor and even their ice cream cones. That said, you'd never know everything is gluten free. The dairy free flavors also don't taste dairy free and are extremely rich and creamy. I talked with several other people while waiting in line (I'm one of those people who strikes up conversations with random people I don't know ) who weren't gluten free or dairy free and they also raved about how great Edison's ice cream is. read more

Edison's Ice Cream - Mini sized unbaked cookie gf/df flavor. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Fort Collins, Colorado

Service was excellent and the flavors themselves were great. The lemon bar and salted PB cup were excellent. I had the orange-infused olive oil and while the flavor was good, there were at least 1-2 little chunks of ice in every single bite. It was to the point I initially thought it was some kind of crunchy mix-in, but nope, just chunks or straight ice. So it was disappointing to pay $6 for a single scoop of ice cream full of actual ice. I'm visiting from out of town and have never been (and probably won't be back), so not sure if this is normal or just a bad batch. Almost everyone else in my party had only good things to say (my sister got the melted chocolate and said it was pretty salty) read more
