I typically do walking tours, but being able to sit on the bus for the greater part of the tour and relax a bit was a nice change. We learned of Spring Hill Jack, The Lady in Blue, The Lady in Red, Burke & Hare, Bloody George McKenzie, Maggie Dixon, and even a bit about Agatha Christie. And then the Mean Old Granny Witch. He was very theatrical and entertaining. The substance is lacking and frankly inaccurate. I'm an American and I know Mary Queen of Scotts was NOT killed by "her own sister" as he stated but by her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I. The other disappointment was the weather (unavoidable of course and expected) but the bus windows were fogged up and it was impossible to see anything out the windows. We exited the bus to get a story from Edinburgh Castle but unfortunately couldn't hear any of it due to roaring buses and street noise behind us. All in all, I'd skip it or do it early enough that you can see out the windows and then lower your expectations.

We took enough time in each spot to soak in the info but not long enough to feel antsy. The vaults smelled of mildew, which seems obvious in hindsight but we didn't think of it before, otherwise I would have brought a mask. The smell was pretty strong. But it wasn't a long tour. It was a pretty easy tour, nothing to claustrophobic or creepy, but for some more sensitive people it could be overwhelming. I would recommend for adults and teenagers, specially those interested in history and the macabre. I would not recommend for anyone with physical disability, breathing sensitivities, or a heightened sense of paranormal energy experience. Lastly, there wasn't really access to a restroom. All in all glad we did this tour!!!

The guy did a remarkable job and there was not a bland second in the tour. The group for the night tour was about eight people, all adults, so no kids running around. I have been to several ghost tours around the world and this one was a joke. The guide tried hard with lots of historical facts and a pathetic cape that appeared he might of wrestled it from one of Edinburgh's many homeless people. A great reciter of historical facts, but a ghost story teller he was not! The underground portion was a couple rooms just below the surface that were super hot and stuffy. Not scary, just uncomfortable. If you are claustrophobic, you will not like this portion. The tour had more stories about human feces than actual ghosts! I went with two of my female friends, nobody was scared or amused. I spoke to the owner/manager at their booth the next day about our disappointment. He was very combative. Edinburgh is allegedly the most haunted city in the world. I have been wanting to visit and go to a ghost tour for years. Give another tour a shot because I'm sure there are some good ones out there. Definitely avoid this one!!!

Recently me and my friends went and luckily because we rented an air bnb close by, we were able to walk to it. But just fyi when we went, the street that it is on was closed off for the public to walk. So just keep that in mind when thinking about parking. Highlights of the tour were some of the art and presentations they have on the history and making of Scotch. I also really enjoyed how they gave you a sheet that shows examples of some common tasting notes you can expect from each region. I learned that Islay Whiskey was my favorite region to sip from just because of how smoky their Whiskey can be. I had a great time. After the tour they give you an example of each region so you can compare and contrast. On top of everything, the people working there were very enthusiastic and friendly. If we ever came back to Edinburgh I might even want to go again just because of the fun experience.

We had a spectacular day on the tour to Rosslyn Chapel, the Borders, and Hadrian's Wall. Our…read moredriver, Angela provided information, history, humor, and music along the way. Our first stop was Rosslyn Chapel where we heard its history and had ample time to tour inside and out, which included the short hike down the hill to Rosslyn Castle. From there we made our way to Melrose for lunch and a tour of Melrose Abbey. We weren't able to tour inside since it's currently undergoing restoration but we were able to see the burial site of Robert the Bruce's' heart and walk the grounds. Next we made the drive to Hadrian's Wall and were able to walk along the wall where Roman soldiers stood in 122 AD; incredible! Finally we made a stop at the borders where we were able to be in the two countries at once. We had a fantastic day and loved Angela!
