First time trying this place and the cashier was very kind and helpful but the truffles were…read morehonestly bad. Lemon Lavender truffle: Tasted strongly of lavender oil and I couldn't take more than one bite before throwing it away. Apple Pie Truffle: Tasted okay mostly of cinnamon but it at least had some sweetness. Vanilla Truffle: I have no clue what flavor this was but it was not vanilla. It was really bad I couldn't even swallow the bite I took. It did have two distinct layers with a harder outside and a softer chocolate inside but again it was so bad. Strawberry Cheesecake Truffle: If you get any of these get this one because it was okay. It was very sweet and tasted mostly of artificial strawberry but I could at least swallow it. Peanut Butter Truffle: Really tasted like cardboard or stale air. I really can't say anything more I thought of any flavor peanut butter would be the savior but it was also bad. Overall I won't be coming back here unless they make some big changes to the recipes.

"Well, I don't need a doctor I don't need a nurse Anything…read moreyou give me babe will only make me worse I need rock therapy" (Stray Cats) You know a chocolate business is serious about their products when they name that business "Chocolate Therapy". Since 2011, they've created hand-made artisanal truffles, bark, and wrapped chocolates just twenty miles west of Boston. We saw them being promoted on a television news show, and since we both have a weakness for chocolate, decided to give their "Trio Nut Bark" a go. It came in a pretty boxed gift set with three different chocolate barks in generously portioned 3" X 3" squares. There were four squares of each of the three flavors for a total of twelve yummy squares. Here are the over-the-top descriptions from their website: 1) Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark sprinkled with delicate French grey sea salt 2) Creamy White Chocolate Bark with the satisfying crunch of green hued slightly sweet pistachios 3) Smooth Milk Chocolate Bark with the delightful crunch of roasted buttery Cashews So how did our $24.50 + shipping chocolates taste? The Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark was top notch. Excellent dark chocolate flavor, plenty of big almond pieces, and that light touch of sea salt really finished it off. The Creamy White Chocolate Bark was excellent, and I was impressed by the large amount of full-sized pistachio nuts in the square. The Milk Chocolate Bark was fantastic -smooth, creamy, and sweet with plenty of crushed cashews to boost up the taste and add to the texture. They were all so good, I really can't say I had a favorite. In summary, their chocolates are magnificent. BTW, their website advertises a very cool experience for ten or more - a Virtual Chocolate Tasting, with chocolate kits for your guests, a lesson on how chocolate is made, and chocolate tastings along each step of the process.

I wasn't sure if my mind was playing games on me, but on my last trip to Northampton this chocolate stand was called Heavenly Chocolate, and now they're called Firetype Chocolate. They simply decided to go for a new name. They're just a small stand located across from Share Northampton. The chocolate variety they offer is anything but small. One little truffle will set you back almost $3.00. As far as I could tell everything is sold individually, not by weight. I got some of the chocolate that sounded a bit interesting, also the barks are a bit larger than the truffles. I got the Salted Almond Bark, Maple Honeycomb and another one that's very similar. These are such quality chocolates. The honeycomb is a bit sticky, and you might need to floss your teeth right after. They also have a small selection of gummy candy. I got the pear, these are soft and juicy. These are unique, flavorful chocolates, that any chocolate lover is sure to appreciate. Firetype Chocolates are made by hand right here in Northampton. This is their only physical location.
