If you're looking for an ok course with overly ambitious rangers who treat you like teenagers at a mini-golf course, this is your place! We scheduled a group of 8 guys to golf for a bachelor party, 7-27-2019 with 4 carts. The person who reserved our tee time gave us one tee time. The starter ranger wrote down all of our cart numbers and what order we were golfing, we tee'd off and all started to drive down the fairway. He literally waited until the 3rd and 4th carts took off and zoomed in front of us to stop and ask if we all just tee'd off. We said "yes, we have a group of 7 (one couldn't make it) for a tee time of x:xx". He yelled at all 3 adults in our 30's and 40's who weren't even drinking and said we had to wait.. so we did but reluctantly. The rangers followed us intently throughout the first nine while both groups of professionals just trying to enjoy a good time together golfing. Meanwhile they had two other big groups of people blaring music from their carts and bumping around who seemingly went un-phased and un-noticed by the rangers. We were then followed closely on our toes by the tee time directly behind us the entire front 9 because they didn't give us two tee times OR inform us that we could not golf as a group, which was the point of this outing. The bachelor ultimately had to split his time between the two groups on the front and back nine... what a memorable experience... . There were 2/18 beautiful holes and all others were fine. We especially loved the sandy/water traps that weren't designed to drain. The club house needed new carpet 10 years ago but the staff were prompt, tolerable of the other patrons who were exuberant but nice/ had good intentions and were also super nice besides whomever scheduled 8* guys for one tee time. Oh and also the overly ambitious rangers waiting to scold us until after we started. That's what people call "bad business" which is why they have earned a harrowing 1 review. Hopefully management takes this review into serious consideration for future review and makes changes and discusses with their staff these complaints and uses them for recommendations moving forward on how to treat their patrons. Consider this review before booking your reservations and tee times. Tip the staff who earn it!

Date of visit: December 8, 2023…read more We were invited by some friends to join them at the Morningstar restaurant for fish fry on a recent Friday; they did warn us upon arrival that service here was not the best but the food was good. We found both to be fair to middling. The bread "basket" is really just rye bread, but it was warm when it was brought out and as far as bread goes, it wasn't bad. I went with the BBQ burger medium, sans onions and sweet potato fries. But I actually received the bacon cheeseburger (no barbecue sauce), medium well; thankfully they didn't forget the SP fries! Because the burger was overcooked I needed to use a fair amount of ketchup to moisten it up and both the bun and sweet potato fries were quite good. My husband went with the fish fry which he found to be just adequate. Service was a bit uneven; they were quick to bring water refills to the table, but left dirty dishes long after we had finished and the entire dining room had cleared out. While I appreciate not feeling rushed out the door, I didn't need to stare at the crumbs on my plate for 30 minutes beyond the end of the meal.

The group in front of us was one and a half holes behind by the time we got to the third tee . We called the Pro Shop and no one came out and did anything about it. They finally let us play through on the 16th hole. If you have an entire day to play golf, please go to the Bog

There were a…read morefew quirky holes, short doglegs and some blind shots, but the carts had on board GPS to give exact yardages and overhead views to select your shot. The greens were phenomenal! Very fast, unblemished for a public course and rolled so true. Hint: not as much break at the holes as you see. Fairways were almost perfect. A few spots baked out, but we saw plenty of staff out working the water hoses. I can always appreciate a course that works to give you the best they can. Cart girls and staff were always available and very friendly. The Bad: i'd struggle to find something negative, but if i had to find something, i'd say the tee boxes were probably a 6 out of 10. They have some heat or moisture issues. Again though, we saw staff on several holes trying to make it right. It didn't impede anything for us and there was still green grass. The Ugly: my putting! All in all, I would definitely want to test my game on this course again!

It was sold last year…read moreand we feared the club wouldn't open for fish fries anymore BUT they did and we were cautiously excited. While the menu and description looks the same, all of the food across the board lacked seasoning. The marble rye and German potato salad were served family style so you could order more - and honestly were shining stars of the meal. While it was a little different, the potato salad came out hot and had a nice tangy dressing as I would expect. I had a cup of the clam chowder which was ok. I ordered the blue gill fish fry which comes with your choice of potato pancakes or fries - I did the pancakes. It also comes with coleslaw and applesauce. I had a 5 fish fillets which is a good amount. Unfortunately the fish didn't have any seasoning so I used my entire container of tartar sauce. I saw most at the table grabbing the salt and pepper. The potato pancakes were really thin hash browns as the potatoes were shredded not grated and they just weren't made like traditional potato pancakes. Our wait staff were wonderful but they had a hard time getting drinks. Some drinks came after the food order because it seemed bartenders were too busy with people at the bar and not making the drinks. Before the purchase of the club, the potato pancakes were authentic so this is a big disappointment. It shows the staff is new and they weren't able to retain any of the old kitchen cooking staff. We all agreed that we would give them another year to find their footing and make any changes they need to and we will try them again.
