I have been searching for the right place to take my kids where we all felt comfortable and given the highest service with the latest treatments available, and this is the place! Dr. Gopi, Shanel and staff, were very patient with my daughter and answered all my questions. She gave me ALL options available to treat my daughter's teeth and I left the office feeling relieved knowing I made the best decision for her. The place is very warm and from what I could see they take time with each patient as I only saw one more child as we were leaving. *** They only take private insurance and they also had their own membership which was a plus for us parents that don't have insurance. ***I loved that my daughter's surgery will be at their location unlike all the other places where it is in a hospital. read more

Since she left, our interactions with the practice has been steadily going downhill with greater pressure from staff to maximize its bottom line (e.g., from come every 4 months to come every 3 months). March 25, 2021 -- My 7 yr old son went in for a cavity filling with the owner, Dr Nguyen (aka Dr. Rose), and I have NEVER come across such an UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE dentist (the staff was polite). Stay with me folks... I saw Dr Rose sticking a needle into my sons mouth (local anesthetic) over 5 times, with no sense for how many more times she needed to keep doing it. My son was, of course, crying lightly, and I had to ask if there was another technique she could use and how much longer this process would take so that he could brace himself (keep in mind my son is very process oriented and everyone in the room was briefed on this). After the numbing was complete, my son needed my consolation. He asked me why we came back to this dentist (we had an incident prior to this one) and I voiced to him that we would not be coming back, as we wanted a more personalized approach. He then sat back down on the chair, ready to begin the rest of the procedure. It was at this point that Dr. Rose decided to feel "OFFENDED" and proceeded to state that if I didn't trust her or feel she wasn't equipped to do the cavity filling, we should go back to the dentist we came from. I was absolutely SURPRISED by her behavior. I had to reassure her I didn't doubt her ability to do her job, I was simply consoling MY SON. She kept raising her voice arguing with me (essentially trying to say she wasn't going to proceed with the filling) all the while my son was sitting on the chair numbed. I had to raise my voice to her level to DEMAND she STOP arguing with me in front on my son. We then stepped into her office where I voiced how UNPROFESSIONAL her reaction was while I was consoling my son. She kept going around in circles about her being offended (still yelling at this point). I literally had to bring her back down to Earth, from the personal stance she had taken, and remind her the patient was sitting on the chair -- waiting for services to be rendered (UNBELIEVABLE). What kind of professional puts a kid through that pain just to threaten that she may call off the procedure!? When she realized how WRONG she was for not thinking about the patient, she finally went back into the room to finish what she started. To top things off, I had to remind her that there was an additional procedure she needed to do on my son while she was preparing to leave the room. (some kind of special flossing for a small cavity that prevents it from getting worse)..... words can not describe how awful this experience was. 0/0 would NOT RECOMMEND. Took my daughter today for her first dental exam today, cleaning and fluoride application. She is 3 years, non verbal and on the spectrum. I had been dreading taking her to the dentist. The dentist was very thorough and patient. She clearly explained everything she was doing and tried her best to make my daughter feel at ease. I was very impressed with her. The office staff was very polite and attentive. The office itself is clean and has toys and decorations to make it an inviting space for children. I am confident and happy with today's visit and recommend it to anybody who is looking for a new pediatric dentist! read more

I have had a fear of the dentist right before my mom made a brilliant choice of taking me to Edgewater Pediatric Dentistry. The whole thought of random people sticking there hands in my mouth just made me uncomfortable. But ever since I started going to I've been coming here ever since i was 5. And I'm 13 now. Every 3 months (I think) I go ballistic when my mom gets the email saying that we have a dentist appointment. Now I know you may think, "why does a 13 year old have yelp" well I'll tell you why. I think the community needs to be heard by every voice. I think the whole world deserves to go to this fine establishment. So whether or not you are going to listen to me. You should DEFINITELY go to EPD (edgewater Pediatric Dentistry). Not only is it the best dentists in the whole wide world, but they are also the most welcoming. If only all of the kids in the world could not fear the dentist and be able to go to this amazing dentist. The workers there are so nice and comforting. I think when ever I go there I feel like I'm seeing my friends. But one of who really stands out of all of the crew is..... Beth. Beth is an amazing dental hygienists there. I just hope my review helps to protect victims like us from a dental scam. The visit was for a complementary exam for my 18months old daughter. I made it very clear when I made the appointment that the Dr. Rose will examine her first, and "if" she thinks my daughter needs an additional treatment ( ex) cleaning or fluoride), we'll discuss and the charge will be $157.00. 1) We showed up on time but we had to wait for an hour. There was no apology for the wait. 2) In her office, Dr.Rose said several things about brushing toddler's teeth. The way she spoke was more like reading a script of content that can be found from google. I asked specific questions about my daughter's teeth. She said she needs to see her teeth at the exam room to talk about it. 3) My daughter became scared sitting at the dental exam room. She started crying and moving. Dr. Rose and her assistant asked my husband and myself to hold her tight. Dr. Rose and her assistant pushed down their arms to my daughter's shoulder forcefully to open my daughter's mouth. Immediately, she started cleaning my daughter's front tooth without even asking us. 4) While my daughter was crying and screaming, Dr. Rose cleaned my daughter's 3 upper front teeth, and bottom 2 front teeth. Then she put some coating thing on my daughter's few front teeth and told us it was finished. 5) Then the reception told us we need to pay $157.00. We just wanted to leave at that point, so we paid and left. 6) We found out from a visit to our pediatrician that our daughter got seriously traumatized from her experience at Dr. Rose's office. We also realized that as a Pediatric dentist, Dr. Rose should have known that 18 months old is too young to get cleaning at the dentist office. ( Unless there is a problem.) 7) We called Dr. Rose and told her our concerns. I asked for a full refund since not only she did not ask for our permission to perform cleaning on our young daughter, she did not even perform a full cleaning on my daughter's teeth. This is what Dr. Rose said to us on the phone. She said she did clean every tooth on our daughter's teeth and it took only "10min", because she is very "fast". She said she takes pride on what she does for her job and she would not give us a refund. I told her I can ask her many questions to prove that she did not perform a full cleaning, but I wouldn't. All because there is no point on discussing with a dishonest professional. The way Dr. Rose handled our conversation was unprofessional and almost immature. Horrible experience dealing with the staff. We scheduled for our first regular cleaning visit, and they didn't mention that their service is out of network, neither at the time of the appointment nor when we arrived there. We got 100s of dollars of bill, which seemed ridiculous. They kept insisting that it is patient's responsibility to check for network. Also, they started blaming back on us that they did tell us that it is out of network. Horrible customer service. read more

I absolutely love this place! From the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out. The staff alone are so amazingly sweet and pleasant. Dr. Rose is truly one of a kind. From start to finish, the staff does everything imaginable to build trust - both with their little patients and with the parents. My kids have never complained about going to the dentist (and the older one has even had a cavity). The staff explained everything to them, and they have TV screens mounted on the ceiling to distract them. Everything is a fun flavor and the decor is fun. Also, I can honestly say that I thought everyone on the staff truly loved kids - it shows and I think the kids respond well to them because of it. As a parent, I also appreciated how everyone from the front desk team who handles insurance and payment to the hygienists who do the cleaning and xray to Dr. Cindy was explaining things to me every step of the way. Took my son for his very first visit at 2 years old and happy to say we are returning for his second visit at 3. My LO loves this office and Dr. Rose. She's really easy with my son and gets him to do things like keep his mouth open which he does not do for me at home. Dr. Rose is attentive, she's very attuned and acute to how she needs to coax a child and make them comfortable in the chair which is not an easy task. After our first visit I was really bummed that I didn't take a picture of the little guy in the chair and was kind of kicking myself but was so surprised to get a card in the mail a couple days later. it Was a picture of my little one in the chair with Dr. Rose it was so heartwarming! I'm out of network and I knew that prior to going. Staff did inform me that there might be cost incurred because I'm out of network but didn't know what they were at the time of our visit which I understand But Dr. Rose is worth it. My 6-year old autistic son was not open to having his check-up and I thought I would have to cancel and try again another time, but they ALL dedicated themselves to getting him in the room and getting through the check-up (so much, that he did not want to leave afterwards).
