I would recommend Frank Arena,Occupational Therapist, to any of my friend and acquaintances, I was having complications from overuse of my hands and had tendonitis in my arms. Frank was able to find deficiencies in movement I wasn't aware of. We worked the issues with manipulation, strength and flexability training with all the best equipment in the office. Frank appears to be a little OCD about cleanliness and I appreciate this quirk. At the end of each session we finished with a massage and the feel good machine. I was able to avoid surgery because of the work we did. Frank gave me the best advice to purchase splints to wear at night. The splints keep me from sleeping with my hands and wrists in unhealthy positions. It has changed my life by raising my sleep score by 30pts daily. My advice is, at the least, try whatever Frank tells you to do. It will benefit you immensely. read more

I have been to 4 different rehab facilities. They all do what is aloud bye patients. If come in ready and determined then you'll get whatever you put out. The therapist job is to show you what's best for your injury and how it affects your recovery. Each therapist has a unique perspective and skill set. I'm not here to say who did what, because they're all special. I can write a book on each and every Therapist I have encountered within a two year period. I THANK GOD for the people who I have worked with. I wish they gave you something to talk about and share with others. I told a therapist, that every now and then. Joel and Edge Therapy have changed my life! I came in about 3 months ago with severe neck and shoulder pain. EDGE Physical Therapy in Frisco is awesome. I have been going to EDGE for 11 years now. Shane is just awesome I wouldn't have healed so well from my car accidents if it weren't for him and all the techniques and treatments he did. I would not be in as good of shape as I am. If your car gets hurt and out of line so does your body. I was in level 15 pain with my hip and leg working from home syndrome. I couldn't walk at all it was totally locked up. I called EDGE and Shane got me in and after just 2 appointments I am already feeling relief and have hope that I will walk again without pain. I have bursitus and tendonitisus in my hip and leg. He will answer all of your questions and explain to you what your injury is. Shane's goal is to get you off of your pain medication and functioning again. And it will happen...I had dry needling today it was awesome. I would highly recommend it and wouldn't go anywhere else if you want complete healing for your body and health and mind. They also help you with health tips and for healthy eating and drinking water especially. Shane is just unbeliveable for what he has created with all of his centers. I can't say enough good things about Joel and the rest of the team at Edge Physical Therapy. I was referred to them with chronic hip/leg pain that prevented me from running, jogging or even just walking a mile. It had been that way for nearly 2 years. After a little over a month of therapy I'm pain free and able to go on my evening runs and just generally be active again. I'm still a bit surprised when I stand up from my desk (or get out of bed in the morning) and no longer feel an immediate twinge of pain. I got started with EDGE on my physicians referral. I had issues with my gait, hip pain and shoulder range of motion. Joel, Justin and Xavier started on my hip issues first. On my daily walk with the dogs I would have to stop at a park bench for a few minutes to alleviate hip pain before moving on. After a couple of weeks I started walking right past the bench. Also I was also having difficulty raising my left arm above my head. Through massage, strength and stretching exercises my left shoulder now has about 95% of its function restored. I had a painful shoulder impingement at age 74. It was very painful and I had limited motion. Joel was my therapist and he gave me simple but helpful exercises and within a month my shoulder and arm feel back to 100%. I have no pain and full range of motion. I am amazed at the results. Yes, you are the expert.be kind. Don't make people feel stupid if they cannot get the form right or don't remember the physio therapy lingo in the first try. Replace arrogance with compassion and kindness for the people who may already be hurting. No explanation for what was going on with me. Perhaps thinking that I did not have the intelligence to understand. Then I saw the therapist talk to a white lady and she had all the compassion and explanations. My doctor referred me to Edge Physical Therapy to address an issue with my back, which had manifested pain in my hip. The staff at Edge was able to identify what my body was doing in response to my avoidance of pain. I couldn't walk without pain in my hip and foot, all caused avoiding back pain. Now I'm all better because of PT. My experience as positive and I recommend Edge Physical Therapy if you need treatment. The support staff was friendly, staff knowledgeable, and facility just right for what needs to be done. There is a comfortable atmosphere. I never felt embarrassed or intimidated while looking like an uncoordinated idiot, and no one looked at you with judging eyes. First off....if there were 10 stars, I would give them a 10. I have been coming here since August, 2019 until today-Feb 4th (finishes with PT) with the exception of gluteal tendon repair surgery in October thru end of Nov. I tried PT before surgery hoping it would help but my tendons were torn so bad-there was no way. Everyone here is so personable, it was like coming to my second home. I can't say enough about Gaye-she's so caring and pays close attention to your progress, making sure you are doing the exercises correctly. I have had back and neck pain for years due to scoliosis and a neck injury 35 years ago. Edge is one of the best PT facilities I have ever been to. The hands-on therapy and exercises are well supervised and encouragement is always positive. The atmosphere is friendly and compassionate. I came to Edge to help me reduce pain in my back. It's been almost a month since I started coming here twice a week. The PT staff Grant and Josh are very nice and personable, they make you feel like you can do it and listen to your pain complains :) I had epidural injection last week and now finally back to training. Everyone is super friendly, helpful and genuinely caring. Facility is nice and clean and plenty of therapists to help. The only negative experience I had was the front desk lady (not sure about her name, I think it's Donna), not Jill Cook (she was my first contact). Jill is great and always very friendly and nice. Anyway, that Frond Desk lady needs to learn some simple human friendly manners, even when she tries to talk to you, she has unpleasant fake smile on her face... She made couple "Smart" comments and to be honest has an attitude every time I come. And I told Grant that it's unacceptable and apparently I'm not the only one to complain! read more

I went to Edge PT for help with a torn labrum (hip pain). I have gone to them previously for other issues and honestly couldn't give them a higher recommendation. I've literally recommended them numerous times to friends. The entire staff is professional, friendly and very caring. All physical therapists need to push (encourage) their patients to get the results we need. I've been to both the Frisco and McKinney locations. All staff are well trained, empathetic and do their jobs well. I'm thankfully through with my recent round of PT, but if I ever need any in the future- EDGE PHYSICAL THERAPY is the only place I'll go. I can not recommend. Therapist don't know how to treat those with chronic pain and permanent spine disability. They have a "no pain, no gain" mentality. Great place! I come in for my foot twice a week (Fractured severely after concrete bar table landed on my foot. Its around 450 pounds and took two guys and a pulley system to get back where it was) and all the employees are great! I only gave 4 stars because whenever my therapist is out I have to do everything with someone else and they don't really know my exercise routine and whenever they do my desensitization therapy they are really rough and none of the exercises are the same. read more

The physical therapy is pretty good from what I experienced. The only reason for this 3 star is because I had a very rude experience with a receptionist Donnell?, where I was explaining my situation about why I was coming in at the "wrong" time and she refused to believe me. She did waive my cancellation fee, but when I was going to ask her more questions, she hung up on me, obviously pissed that I wasn't paying the cancellation fee. On top of this one of her reasons was they couldn't make a mistake and that the system sends out emails to remind you of the appointment. I have received 0 email reminders since I have been with them. Rude experiences result in less customers so I have cancelled my further appointments for now. I'm normally very calm and relaxed but I refuse to be spoken to so rudely, plus I will pay a cancellation fee if I was at fault. read more

I was there about two years ago, and decided to write a review after joining yelp. Prior to trying out Edge, I went to 2 other therapists, two chiros, and two pain specialists, who ordered 2 MRIs and multiple cortizone injections. And honest, they didn't help much, and my pain moved from my back to my legs, and to other places. I wasted about 3 years just trying out for different therapists and treatments. Edge Physical Therapy was the one that actually helped. The exercises that they prescribed were very helpful, and most importantly, C'Mak was they ONLY therapist who actually did manual procedures on me. And honestly, even though I am not completely pain free, but i can move better and feel better. I would certainly recommend Edge Physical Therapy to anyone. Took my daughter there for a hamstring strain. Jody was her PT. I was never a believer in PT and always thought I could do the same thing at the gym without paying the high prices even with insurance. However, our experience with Edge changed my former opinion. Worse experience of my life! I'm not talking about the physical therapy part which is expectedly painful but the blatant disrespect and PURPOSEFUL injury to my arm and shoulder requiring medical attention. I truly feel that I should have sued Shane Hernandez. Amongst many occasions where he would ridicule me and cause extra pain to my shoulder, the last session I had before I left permanently remains in my memories as a horrible nightmare. All the other staff were leaving and he asked me to stay behind so he could finish up. He then proceeds to yank and twist my arm nearly out of my socket causing me to SCREAM extremely loud in pain. A few of the staff stopped as they were exiting the door to see if I needed an ambulance. I grabbed my things and left, and then went to see my orthopedic surgeon. He said my rotator cuff - which originally should have been able to be fixed with PT - would now require surgery. I am writing this review years later to note that my health has worsened and I believe many of the issues I'm having now spurred from this additional rotator cuff injury caused by Shane Hernandez. I have visited other physical therapists post-surgery from his damage and never have I experienced the same abuse that Shane Hernandez did to me. AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS. read more
