I enthusiastically recommend David Eder and the team at Thuemmel Uhle & Eder. Bottom line, you need the best there is to navigate in the legal world David is that professional. David delivered above and beyond my expectations. He finalized tax free cash settlements for me that were larger than I ever expected. Clearly, having David Eder on your team is a "force multiplier", he is known in the legal community, insurance community and by a broad array of experts. My recommendation is based upon my own personal experience with personal injury. I am a retired United States Marine Corps Officer, and police officer. I was involved in not one, but two vehicle crashes and sustained personal injury and the loss of my vehicle. When I was T-Boned by a driver with a suspended license, I contacted David on the phone and he provided me with concise understandable information and guidance. Please note, he was immediately available on the phone and subsequently always available on the phone or by email. We were working on the complex issues related to the first crash. Subsequently, I was in a second crash. I was rear ended on Hwy 26 near the tunnel. As soon as I was able, I contacted David on the phone. He responded and immediately developed and provided an easy to follow plan of action. David recalled off the top of his head the details of the first crash and he knew who I was. Important to point out, I was not a case or number, I was treated as a valued client and person. Legal advice when you are under stress and trauma is critical. I underscore this, despite the training in the USMC and as a police officer, I can tell you when you are in a crash and injured you are not thinking clearly. You need to follow a logical simple plan of action, David provides that advice. David is there for you, he will provide advice so you can avoid making bad decisions, he has your back. During my treatment and work with medical service providers, rehabilitation, insurance companies and others involved, David was there advocating for me and providing constant updates. David developed a strategic plan to deal with all the stakeholders involved in my case. He worked on the two crash cases and cut through the barriers that were put in front of us. David worked around the clock advocating for me and protecting my interests. I never had a question that was not answered. I have 100% faith in his skills and abilities. You can imagine with multiple insurance companies and healthcare providers, issues are complex. The complexity was increased due to the timelines associated with two crashes. David is a tenacious advocate. When you need the very best, contact David Eder, you will not find a better attorney. read more

Choosing an attorney can be a difficult process. As I had previously worked for 20 years as a police officer, FBI task force officer, and corporate investigator, I've interacted with many lawyers. I wanted a lawyer that I knew would always be honest with me, care about my case, give me realistic expectations, and had a reputation for being fantastic at trial. The case got close to settling prior to trial, but the opposing team of lawyers took unreasonable positions and my attorney advised me that trial was my best option. Although a trial is stressful, time consuming, and nerve racking, I had complete confidence that Ben, David, Andrew and Joel had thought about every angle for my case from evidence review/preparation, trial strategy, and legal motions. They asked important questions, met with witnesses, selected and reviewed evidence, and worked tirelessly on my behalf. I had heard about Ben's reputation as one of the best trial lawyers in the State of Oregon with an impressive track record. He proved it in my trial. What struck me was how calm and controlled he is in the courtroom. Things got very heated with opposing counsel, yet he remained composed and professional in his interactions as he was representing solely my interests. His style reminds me of the type of lawyer you see in the movies where jurors are captivated by his natural delivery and questioning of witnesses that follow his carefully planned strategy of eliciting the truth. His word choice is excellent, speech pattern is fluid/relatable, he doesn't use notes when he speaks to witnesses or jurors, reacts to what each witness is saying and keeps the jurors' focus on what is important so they aren't confused. I'm still amazed at how relaxed, confident and authentic Ben was in every stage of the trial and how he was able to relatable to everyone, from possible jurors during the selection process to witnesses. I already knew that the lawyers at Thuemmel Uhle and Eder were wonderful people with great admiration by other lawyers, but I didn't realize when I hired them how good really great lawyers are. It's tough to put full confidence in a lawyer or lawyers, but my lawyers came through for me. Trust their process because they are incredibly knowledgeable. If you have been hurt in a car accident, I highly recommend this entire firm. read more

I was injured in a car accident waiting to turn into my neighborhood on my commute home. It broke both the bones in my dominant right wrist, put me through 2 surgeries, deteriorated my hand function, gave me 8 months of physical therapy, multiple rounds of steroids and injections, a CPM machine, PTSD, and permanent impairment for the rest of my life. Hiring David and the team at Thuemmel Uhle & Eder was the smartest thing I ever did. I had no idea how any of the process works...I just thought if someone hit you and they were at fault you just sent your medical bills to your auto insurance company and they paid you. I had auto insurance right? Not at all! There are SO many complexities to a personal injury claim, I had no idea. David walked me through the full process and was my advocate during all of the treatment and pain I endured, explaining everything I needed to know, keeping the other party's insurance adjuster informed, negotiating down medical bills, requesting providers put billing on hold until the settlement, and negotiating a settlement. I certainly don't have the experience doing any of that and it was huge peace of mind for me to be able to trust David, Joel, and Ben with my case. The whole process took 1 year 10 months from the date of the accident, and David was so consistent in checking in with me as to my progress in hand therapy, any new developments, check-ins before and after surgery, and constant communication. I couldn't have asked for better, and I know he worked late evenings, weekends, and many weeks to ensure I was able to afford the constant medical bills (or delay the bills until after the settlement). The team protected my finances and I was able to pay all of my medical bills and stay afloat as I was going through everything. I recommend the Thuemmel Uhle & Eder team, and David personally - to everyone I know who have been injured - because most people have no idea what it actually involves. That's where a lawyer's expertise is critical to ensuring a positive outcome, and that you can stay afloat during the whole process and not dig yourself into crippling debt along the way. read more

I read good reviews about the lawyers at Thuemmel Uhle and Eder. Honestly, it's hard to know based on reviews if the lawyers good or not. In retrospect, I wish I had hired Thuemmel Uhle and Eder right after the accident. I waited because I thought I didn't need a lawyer. I was rear ended. It wasn't my fault. But the other driver's insurance company was not even willing to pay all of my medical bills. I would have never guessed that I needed lawyers ready to take my case to trial, but that's what happened. Ben, Joel, David and Andrew clearly cared about my case. My lawyers put in hours of time with me to get me ready. We had meetings during the week and on weekends. Despite all the attention on my case, I was nervous about going to trial. At trial Ben and Joel were confident, calm and collected. They were engaging with the jury. In comparison, the insurance defense lawyer seemed flustered and didn't seem as prepared. When I testified, it felt like I was having a conversation with Ben. He made me feel at ease as he guided through the accident and how it affected my life. My fiancé felt the same way when he testified. Joel's cross examination of the insurance defense's orthopedic surgeon was like a masterclass in medicine. The lawyers at Thuemmel Uhle and Eder were honest, experienced and backed up their reputation in and out of the courtroom. They have so much trial experience it was like they could see things before it happened. There always seemed to be a plan in place. I don't think I would have won without fantastic lawyers in my corner. In addition to being wonderful lawyers, they were also wonderful people. I highly recommend all the lawyers in the firm. read more

My son a minor and I were victims of a car accident that sent our SUV rolling onto the opposite side of the highway last year. Dealing with both insurance companies, a totaled family vehicle, Anxiety from the experience, counseling, doctor appointments became so overwhelming for myself and my husband. I was ready to just take whatever the insurance companies said and walk away to avoid everything, even when it felt like we were getting cheated. When a family member suggested we hire an attorney and gave us David's number, as he helped their coworker in an accident, my husband called him right away. Best decision we made in what felt like a whirlwind of a mess. David took on both of our cases even though we didn't think we would be getting much money from this. We needed someone to represent us and lead us through this process and David went above and beyond. Anytime we emailed David, he replied with in hours, at any hour of the day. He handled everything himself, no paralegals. I know this made David more experienced and knowledgeable especially with both of our cases, one being for a minor. Any questions or concerns we had, David answered them. It wasn't easy playing a game with the insurance companies at all, getting bills paid and chart notes for every single appointment sometimes multiple times. Having David represent us made that all easier, and lifted a heavy weight of stress especially in an area we knew nothing about. Both of our cases ended very well, I feel like we got justice and more money than we even thought we would get. Surviving that horrific accident was heavy enough, if we ever need David's representation again we will not hesitate to contact him immediately. read more

I cannot speak highly enough of David Eder's legal expertise and support. After a car accident in July 2021 left me with a concussion and back/neck injuries, I was overwhelmed. With no prior experience with lawyers, David's guidance was invaluable. He navigated the insurance paperwork and recommended specialists, allowing me to focus on my recovery. David's confidence, intelligence, and dedication were evident throughout the process, making him an exceptional advocate. His emotional support was equally impactful. I am immensely grateful for his help. From our first consultation, David's professionalism and empathy were evident. He took the time to explain the legal process in a way that was accessible and reassuring, alleviating many of my initial concerns. Beyond his professional abilities, David's personal investment in my well-being was truly remarkable. He provided not only legal guidance but also emotional support throughout the entire journey. His genuine care and compassion helped me navigate the emotional toll of the accident, providing reassurance and encouragement when I needed it most. In December, 2019, I was rear-ended by a large utility vehicle and had to be taken to the ER by ambulance. I had a concussion, a jaw injury and symptoms of vertebrae injury. My car was totaled. The next day, uncertain of how to proceed, I called Joel Sturm, a lawyer I knew through my work. He was immediately responsive and met with me to hear more about my situation and discuss how he could help. He was warm, friendly and personable, and I felt relieved to have someone navigating insurance company hassles, and making sure I got the medical care I needed. My medical rehab took a long time, and on one occasion Joel met with a consulting doctor to discuss the case. When my medical was complete, the insurance company lawyers demanded a deposition to interview me. Joel, and his partners Ben and David Eder, sat with me ahead of time and educated me so that I was fully prepared for that deposition. Afterwards Joel negotiated with the attorneys for the insurance companies, and did a masterful job of laying out the consequences of them not agreeing to settle for the maximum amount of money possible. They agreed to pay the full limits of the policies which was gratifying to me in that it was fair, and it acknowledged the permanent physical damage with which I live. Joel, Ben and David are very experienced at depositions and trials and I would absolutely put my confidence in them again. I highly recommend them for their professionalism, expertise and kindness. read more

For anyone who suffered the loss of a loved one and is being put off by the insurance company, I strongly recommend David Eder. My father was struck and killed in a crosswalk in an unfortunate accident. Even though the driver had a very good insurance policy, the insurance company put up barriers and made it difficult for my brothers and me to make a claim. We also did not understand the interactions between vehicle insurance, health insurance, medicare, and hospital bills. If you don't have a lot of experience it is easy to make expensive procedural mistakes or to be taken advantage of. We were very fortunate to find David Eder. David has extensive knowledge on how to deal with the hospital, insurance companies, medicare and the court system. David was thorough and persistent. At no time did David demonize the driver or the insurance company representatives. He acknowledged that all individuals involved were trying to do their jobs given the difficult situation. I feel that this is a mark of an excellent negotiator. It avoids hardening the opposition and encourages the parties to come to a reasonable agreement. It took a huge burden off our shoulders to let David control the process through many negotiations and mediation. At every step of the way, David was sensitive, available for questions at any time, and always on top of the process. Given the situation after the accident, we are very satisfied with the outcome. read more

I was rear ended in a motor vehicle accident in December of 2021 and suffered a neck injury. I tried months of physical therapy and eventually connected with Joel Sturm and TUE. I can not even begin to describe the level of effort and concern they put into my case. Joel was present at doctors appointments, he constantly checked on me. The thing he said over and over was "Let's get it fixed, we can worry about other stuff later." The decision to eventually undergo surgery was left to me, and what I thought was best with the advice of the doctors. There was no talk of money and no pressure to settle the claim quickly. It eventually concluded in November of 2023. When it came time to take care of things Joel did an AMAZING job. I just stayed out of his way and let him use his expertise. When he called me to tell me what the settlement was, I didn't believe him. I thought he was pulling my leg. I made him repeat it three times. The job that Joel and TUE did was incredible. I wish the accident had not happened because of the pain and suffering that it caused. Even with physical rehab and surgery I am going to have some soreness and stiffness in my neck for the rest of my life, but because of the accident I met Joel and I am so grateful to him because he worked so hard to represent me and my interests. It was a blessing that I got connected with Joel and TUE. read more

David Eder became my personal injury attorney in early 2016 when a friend recommended him to us after hearing that I had been injured in a car accident. From the outset, David put me completely at ease, and told me to just focus on getting better. When you are injured in a car accident, it is overwhelming to deal with insurance companies, paperwork, phone calls, claims and everything else that it entails. What a relief it was to leave the rest up to David and trust that he would go to bat for me with all the resources at his disposal. Through the long 2.5 year process, he has always been available to answer questions, give advice and follow-up whenever needed. He made sure to check in with me on a regular basis. I found him to be always easy to reach, easy to understand, easy to talk to and very patient with all my questions though I am sure I was confused a lot of the time. Even though my case has taken over two years to resolve, his diligence, persistence and work ethic never flagged, he was always on top of it all. He never gave up, yet made sure that he set realistic expectations at every step along the way. Because of his legal representation, I received a great settlement. I will always be thankful that he was in my corner, and would whole heartedly recommend David and his law firm. read more

My original lawyer, I found through online advertising. After I signed the fee agreement, the lawyer never returned my calls. The last straw was when I was in for treatment and informed my insurance had sent them a letter stating they would no longer cover my medical bills. I called my claims adjuster, who explained they stopped paying my medical fees 3- months prior. I called the lawyer and learned that my case was worth very little, and he had dropped me. I was facing collections, still in pain, and had no clue what to do. Thank heavens my doctor referred me to David Eder, his auto accident patients used David for legal services. David worked hard, within two weeks, my case was in order, I was out of collections, doctor bills paid in full, and I continued treatment. David was not going to make a lot from my case, but what mattered most to him was my health, making the insurance company step up and me out of collections. I wish I had worked with David from the start. I can't thank him enough. David is devoted to his clients, which reflects in his work ethic. If you get injured in a motor vehicle accident, call David Eder, he has your back. read more

I was referred to Eder Sturm & Eder after I was injured in a car accident. Going into it, I was honestly hesitant to seek legal help because the whole process felt overwhelming and intimidating. I had no idea how any of it worked or what to expect, but from my first consultation I immediately felt more at ease. Everyone I worked with made the process easy to understand and made me feel like there was always a clear plan. They handled all of the back-and-forth with the insurance companies so I didn't have to, pushed back when the offers weren't fair, and were willing to take things further when necessary instead of just settling for the easiest outcome. By the end of the process, it was clear how much work and strategy had been happening behind the scenes. Each time we checked in, I felt like the firm was several steps ahead and genuinely looking out for me. I'm very happy with how everything turned out and would absolutely recommend Eder Sturm & Eder. Especially if legal processes feel overwhelming or confusing to you, these guys make it much easier to understand and can really help you through it. read more

Me and my partner had a great experience working with Ben on our insurance claim for a hit-an-run case. Our case should have been pretty straightforward, but the insurance company made the process unnecessarily difficult and dragged it out for about more than a year and a half. Throughout the entire process, Ben was patient, responsive, and always kept us updated. He explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and continued to push back whenever the insurance company made things difficult. We always felt like he was truly advocating for us to make sure we received the best possible outcome and everything we were entitled to when the case was finally resolved. We really appreciated how persistent, professional, and supportive he was from beginning to end. After dealing with such a frustrating process for so long, we're very grateful to Ben for helping us get through it and finally reach a resolution. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone who needs someone they can trust to deal with an insurance company and genuinely look out for their best interests. read more

Two years ago, I was involved in a high-speed collision. The accident was so severe that I had to make numerous trips to medical facilities to begin the long road to recovery. It was a painful and uncertain time, physically, emotionally, and financially. That's when my chiropractor recommended I call David Eder. He and his team stepped in and handled everything with professionalism, diligence, and compassion. They carefully assessed the situation and made strategic decisions every step of the way. Throughout the process, David kept me informed, explained what to expect, and ensured I felt supported and educated. Thanks to David's hard work and guidance, what could have been a devastating financial crisis for my family turned into a manageable -- even hopeful -- outcome. I had the privilege and honor to be referred to Attorney David Eder. I was involved in a five-vehicle accident and was rear ended by a commercial truck at about 50 mph after I had come to a complete stop. It took the truck driver over a year to accept liability. David Eder graciously took my case and jumped in even after two other lawyers didn't think I needed their services for my personal injuries sustained. David Eder and his team (Ben Eder and Joel Sturm) prepared the case from day one as though we were going to trial. They are very efficient, assertive, and responsive even before and after business hours. They really fight for your rights, and they make sure that you do not lose even one penny for your pain and suffering. I am pleased and feel very blessed with the outcome of my case. I cannot thank David, Ben and Joel enough for there work on my car crash injury case. I called David after hearing from a co-worker he was a great attorney. The insurance adjuster on my case was awful and my case was complicated. David handled everything for me. He accompanied me to multiple appointments with my surgeon, set up legal meetings with the other doctors involved and built a case on my behalf. Although we had to file suit and formally litigate the case, David and his partners were always well prepared for the fight. Ultimately we won and I could not be happier with the results. David answered phone calls, emails and texts on nights and weekends. I highly recommend David Eder and the team at Thuemmel Uhle & Eder. David Eder handled two auto accident claims for me (I was rear-ended twice in one year). He made my life immensely easier and eased my stress by interfacing with insurance companies and explaining every step of the process to me along the way, in addition to efficiently settling and closing both claims. In one accident I was hit by an uninsured motorist, and David Eder walked me through what an uninsured motorist claim would look like and handled the claim very well. I had injuries from both accidents, and David checked in on me to see how I was recovering, and he consistently provided (without any prompting from me) updates on the status of each claim. David Eder and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were efficient, kind, and proactive, and any time I had a question I received a quick response. Mark P. A couple of years ago I was struck by a vehicle while on a motorcycle. It was a complicated case involving insurance companies, criminal prosecution of the other driver, hospital billing and rehabilitation of injuries. David Eder took the time to consult with multiple doctors to get a clear understanding of the complexities of my injuries and how it would affect my career and quality of life. Because of David's patience and methodical approach, a doctor reviewed my medical record and found glaring mistakes and a serious misdiagnosis of my injuries. This tipped the balance of my case greatly in our favor from a "standard injury case" to a "serious injury case." As a result, the insurance company was made to realize they were dealing with an attorney that had made my case undisputable. The details make the case. I highly recommend David, Ben and Joel. They work as a team seamlessly. There is no substitute for honesty and trustworthiness. read more
