Edenmore House is located directly behind the Concorde, and is another pub that I had to do a drinks promotion in.
After my experience in the Concorde the previous evening, it was with a feeling of trepidation that I went into Edenmore House. The place looks fairly rough on the outside, and I was expecting the worst.
And I have to admit that I was really quite pleasantly surprised. The Edenmore House has a nicer layout, with a fair sized beer garden that I had never realised it had. It is also very much a local boozer, but not as insular and defensive as Concorde. And it wasn't really rough at all, the people were really nice, and there was a 21st going on so there was a good mix of ages there.
Some of the staff of the Concorde were drinking there and recognised me from the night before. They were all young, 18-22 or so, and told me that Edenmore House was a really decent spot, they'd never dream of drinking in the Concorde instead, even if it wasn't the case that they worked there.
I have to say, if I lived a teeny bit closer, I would definitely consider going to the Edenmore House, possibly on some sort of semi-regular basis.
So if you find your self in Edenmore in need of a drink, bypass the Concorde and head straight to Edenmore House. read more
