This roomy pub, located in the Tara Towers hotel (next to the new Elm Park development) is right near my work. I've tried the lunch time carvery a couple of times, and snuck in for a quick pint after work on the odd occasion. Because it's sort of in the middle of nowhere, Branagan's gets a business crowd from Elm Park and the hotel guests. There's plenty of dark wood, the big couches are comfy, everything's clean, and the carvery is standard fare, although slightly overpriced. The best thing about this place is the fact that each time I've been there has been a real character or two at the bar. Pop in, enjoy a (quite good) pint and talk to somebody wearing corduroy - they might be a retired sociologist or spy! read more
