Although Mother was in the Independent Living section, she was still cared for by staff - on a few occasions, they noticed changes in Mom's behavior and contacted us. This was life saving. We were so impressed with the staff - they were attentive, patient, helpful and most of all, kind. We had 100% confidence that Mother was in a safe, welcoming environment Most importantly, Mom was so happy there. She enjoyed the food, loved her apartment, and appreciated all of the activities and the many amenities such as the hair salon, exercise room/classes, church services and shuttle. And the wonderful residents were so warm and friendly. Mom developed many cherished friendships over the years. We felt so fortunate to have Mom living in such a fine facility that was actually affordable for the average person. The Physical Therapy department is the only part of this facility I have ever needed…read more They were very profressional. The staff explained the excercises to me. For the most part I did land based simple stretches. On occassion they did use a tens unit to help with muscle tension. I did see some improvement with these approaches. Overall it was a very friendly and welcoming environment. The physical therapy room was small and the equipement they had was rather limited but adequate. Honestly I preferred a smaller room with more privacy than some of the alternatives offered elsewhere. I did recover from the injuries that I needed the physical therapy for. That is the purpose of physical therapy, to recover from an injury or surgery. And I am very grateful that I had an opportunity to do so. Because without physical therapy i would have not have been able to walk right and do many other things. Thankyou so much! You all are such a blessing!

I actually don't know how many stars to give Mettler. I like (soon to be past tense) going there…read morebut it will all change come January 1st. Starting that day there will be no more classes and no more memberships. If you want to use the facilities, you have to book with a personal trainer at $55 per month. No more Silver Sneakers for seniors. There are members who have been taking classes there forever and who have been working out there forever. Mettler claims to love them all and appreciate them and yet this change. The focus is to better serve the community but I can't understand how that is achieved by eliminating programs and memberships. Mettler was a great place to workout. The atmosphere was relaxed. Most of the people there at the time when I went were seniors like I am; some in better shape than I and some in worse. The lounge area provided opportunities to visit and meet new people. People could leave personal items, even car keys, in the lounge's open cubbyholes without concern. I'm a proponent of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," and by all appearances Mettler was not broken. Maybe it's because all the freebie Silver Sneakers were depriving Mettler of revenue. Letters with corporate jargon and platitudes offer explanations but I can't help but think it's a purely financial move. So, for Mettler Past I give 5 stars but to Mettler Future only 1.
