Nice apartments, moderately funded, good staff, not enough a la carte items, not enough activities.

It has taken 1 1/2 months for Apria to register that my account is clear (fully paid). I received…read moremultiple calls from Apria debt collectors demanding that I pay. I have recited my story twice. First time they said they would check with the local Apria dealer. No call was received back. Finally, after I had received 3 debt collector calls in the last 10 days, I called the local billing office and they said the account was closed! I have asked for an email confirming that my account is closed and the name of the person in billing. Supposedly I can send this to debt collectors. No email received 2 hours later. This not satisfactory.

After providing my insurance and other information, I was told I needed to see my doctor for a new prescription. Fine. I did so, but when I called Apria a week later to check on the status of my order, I was told that they had not received the prescription. A call to my doctor revealed that the Rx was faxed to Apria the same day I saw him. At any rate, once Apria had all of the information, the polite but ineffective young lady on the phone told me that my supplies would be shipped right away. That was over two weeks ago. When I called today, she told me she would put me on hold while she checked on the status of the order. Instead, she transferred me to a menu, which finally led me to a foreign call center. It turns out the local Apria office had never placed my order at all, and I had to provide all of the same information again -- first, to the person who took the call, and then to the "order center." I am now promised a shipment in 7-10 days -- we'll see how that goes. Everyone I have spoken to, including the young man who took my complaint call at Apria's customer service number, has been polite. But the Champaign office, which seems to be nothing more than one young woman and a telephone, is utterly worthless. I chose Apria over the out-of-state company recommended by my previous provider because I wanted someone local who could provide the service, and also because I preferred that the money (whether my co-pay or my insurance) be spent locally. Turns out to have been a bad idea.

This place is terrible. My grandmother stayed here for a…read moreperiod of a few months while she was was supposedly rehabilitating after falling and breaking a few bones. All she did was lie in her bed all day, watching tv. The "rehabilitation" consisted of walking up and down a single step a few times in the morning and moving her arm around before breakfast.. that's it. She ended up losing a lot of weight and looked really terrible and unhealthy during her time there. I honestly thought she was going to die there. The nurses/medical assistants who work here were fairly unpleasant and unhelpful. One time when I was visiting her, a nurse came by to give my grandmother her dinner, and we looked at the packaging to see that it had the wrong name on it! We told her she gave us the wrong one and she laughed and literally told me and my dad that she hadn't even looked at the name, she just thought she saw the room number. Really??? How dumb do you have to be as a healthcare worker to actually admit that to us? It was also very concerning considering the dinners are specialized because of peoples food allergies... The rooms are boring blank white walls and everything else is fairly standard.. Thought they could at least put some artwork up. There's no security here as I was able to just walk right on in. Visiting this place made me really sad. I don't know how they can call themselves a rehab center when they seem like just another understaffed nursing home. I'm so glad my grandmother was able to leave here and I tell everyone I know now to send their relatives here.
